Just received mine today. The quality is exceptional! Stitching and zippers are solid. Liner is smooth and warm. Leather is nice and thick, but not so much that it hinders mobility. Sizing is pretty much spot on for what you would wear for your shirt size. I wear an XL t-shirt and the XL jacket fits fine with only a t-shirt on underneath. I couldn't comfortably wear a hoodie or a sweatshirt underneath it with the liner attached. Granted, I'm on the cusp of needing a 2XL t-shirt in the belly area, so I'm probably the exception rather than the rule (I can use this as motivation to lose the 10 lbs I've been promising my doctor I would for the last 10 years, lol). I can easily see this jacket being the last one I ever have to buy! ... show more

This is a really nice jacket. The problem is the sleeves. They are about 2-3 inches short. I read a review that stated this same issue. Most folks who buy this jacket will be riding a motorcycle. When you reach for the bars the jackets sleeves ride up and exposed skin. You only need the jacket in colder weather so I guess it’s okay as I will be wearing gloves as well. Hopefully it’s enough to cover my skin that the short sleeves exposed. This jacket would be perfect if they would extend the sleeves. ... show more

I just got this jacket so I'm not reviewing how well it holds up. I am reviewing its out of the box fit as well as its break in fit. I wear an extra large in everything. XL always fits me perfectly. This jacket fits me perfectly. Yes, a brand new leather jacket with a lining is going to feel a bit snug to begin with, especially if you try and wear a flannel or a hoodie too. But that's new. This leather relaxes pretty quickly and starts to feel much more comfortable. Leather jackets (and vests) stretch over time from use, and wearing layers, and wind, and putting things in the pockets, and and and. If you wear different sizes in different shirts and coats I have no advice for you. If you always wear a particular size like me, get that one. If you're heavy, you might look at a different style. This one is definitely a rather athletic cut The leather is soft and supple right out of the box, and smells exactly like a leather jacket smells when new. My only gripe so far is that there are TOO MANY POCKETS. I can't find things. I can't even feel some of them. The chest pockets (3 stacked) go pretty deep and it's a long reach if you drop something small in them. Don't forget which one you put your keys in. It'll be 15 minutes before you find them. I'm still discovering new pockets I didn't know were there. I'm half joking but seriously, I think they could drop the number of pockets by half and you'd still have too many. ... show more

I noticed someone commented previously that they had received a different jacket that looked similar to the original; it had me weary of buying it but I pulled the trigger. I did get the original jacket from First Manufacturing and couldn’t be happier with it. It was heavier than expected but once on, the weight goes away. I rode today under overcast weather and 56 degrees Fahrenheit at higher than 70mph with only a tshirt and the jacket on. Needless to say I was perfectly warm. A heavy sweater underneath will probably not fit me as the jacket fits true to size. However, a thin fleece hoodie underneath fits really well. I have not tried it with armor yet. It’s a really comfortable jacket right out of the box and doesn’t need much breaking in. The bottom button does not close for me while sitting on the bike (I do not need it to) but does close while standing. I must add I am fit and have an athletic build mid section. I contemplated returning for a medium but the arm length is perfect for me on the small. My measurements: 5’6” 150lbs 36inch chest. The chest area does fit a bit loose compared to waist but it works in my favor when I have the thin fleece hoodie and I’m in riding position. Looking forward to more rides with this jacket! I'm 5'10 230lbs with a 48 inch chest and no neck. The arms are tapered toward the end and a bit shorter than the usual motorcycle jackets which is good for me cuz I have short arms. The chart said xl but I followed other reviews and went with a xxxl and I'm glad I did. Pockets galore! I also love the "no collar" cuz I ride without a windshield and a collar is a bit compromising. I don't zip it up all the way and make sure the top button is attached and it's perfect. The sleeves will ride up on you when you reach for your handlebars so if you have long arms then this ain't the jacket for you. But us short stocky folks, this is definitely the jacket! Very well made and very high quality. Only con is when you pull out the thermal liner there's some velcro exposed on the upper arm area which provides a pocket for armor and it's really not a con cuz you can just tuck it and it won't bother you. Good quality leather. very useful pocket designs. I am a very critical reviewer in a day and age when either quality stinks because it is just cheap crap and even if you are willing to spend the money on quality you often don't get it or it's just poorly designed making it not functional. This jacket feels heavy with good quality. All the zippers function well and it is very warm ( I live in the midwest it is zero degrees today). The pocket design is smart and the jacket looks good. As a minimal critique with all the pockets it can be like a woman digging in a giant purse to find things but if you want a lot of pockets you should expect it. I would give it 6 STARS if If I could! ... show more
