We got a 12” mattress and it is just about 12” all the way around. It came rolled up and compressed and was easy to open with the letter opener they provided. I have to admit I did not know I was ordering a bed in a box. When the box arrived we were considering just returning it right away but after some research we decided to give it a try. The surprise is when you open it and remove the wrappers and the bed inflates into a firm queen size mattress. Very comfortable and stays in place. This was the first mattress in a box I've ever bought and was a little suss about doing so - but the reviews were super encouraging so I rolled the dice and so pleased I did! Comparatively, the price point compared to other 12inch medium firm queens was attractive. Secondly, for me to have this inflate properly to full size my timeline was this - I opened this up and let it "inflate" at around 1pm. (I left it in the plastic as had just moved into my apt and hadnt cleaned so didnt want to dirty the mattress up. After I build my bed frame, we put this on top out of the plastic at around 8:45pm and it was firm and full size. I've had this for 2 nights now and for my preference (front and back sleeper) its super comfy!!! To weigh in on some of the comments re: smell and noise - theres no invasive smells at all, nothing chemical or off putting, and I havent heard alarming/any noises from springs etc. Wanted to share my review as the ones before mine were very helpful in getting me to buy and I'm really happy I bought this! ... show more

This bed was very convenient and affordable. Reasonable delivery time . I love that it came rolled up in a box wasn't hard to unravel. You have to let it air for a couple days for it to take it's full shape and firmness. I love this bed because it is semi firm. Makes for a very comfortable sleep.
