DO NOT try to use this splitter with a hand drill - I tried to use it with a 1/2" VSR drill, and after it bored about 3/4" into a piece of wood I was trying to split, it suddenly jammed and caused the drill to twist violently out of my hand, nearly breaking my wrist. The torque spun the piece of wood around, causing it to strike my knee and inflict a serious bruise. I have included a picture of the jammed splitter, which I had to remove from the wood with a pipe wrench.     • Meh splitter, many of the review are not for this product
This item works but it is slow, frustrating. The bit easily get stuck In the wood that I splitting. When I try to reverse the direction of the bit it the two pieces of this item unscrew and remain in the log. I have injuries from the log breaking free and hitting me in the shin along with a twisted wrist. Many of the reviews here are not for the log splitting tool. ... show more

    • Not very strong
This product is easy to use however it only works for small pieces of wood. Tried to use it for kiawe wood but it only works on the smaller pieces. When we tried using it for larger pieces, about 3”-4” thick and about 7”-8” in diameter the drill would not split the wood.

    • It's okay I guess
My only concern is that the bit gets stuck in the wood and then the bolt comes loose from the splitting bit head no matter how tight I get it. I'm trying to split cedar so that might be a factor. I'll try splitting some sort wood and hopefully it will preform like the videos.

    • Not what i expected
First the bit was much smaller than expected, i put it in my drill and yeah it kinda worked but my drill didnt have enough tork. So if you do buy this you need to have a powerful drill

I received this product 2 days ago and immediately got on to test it by cutting my own hair! I was initially unsure whether to go for the more expensive but similar looking sets and eventually decided to give this product a try. I must say I am very pleased with my purchase. All the items in this set are very good quality. The scissors, in particular, are sharp and serve their purpose well. Overall, a very happy customer. Used this weekend. Does not work. When used gets stuck every time and have to back it out. Never got a single piece to split.

Fantastic price. Quality is better than you would expect at this price point. If your fingers are on the larger size, you might not be happy. Otherwise, a very good value.
