    • Not too bad
The edges are a little sharp, not actually sharp like they will cut you just from running a finger over them, but not at all rounded over smooth so could be bad if you're using them to tong feed a snake or reptile that strikes aggressively. And the little grooved bits in the tips where it grips whatever you're picking up are all but nonexistent. That part really bugged me because I was using bamboo tongs that a F/T pinky would slip out of while my snake took her sweet time coming to eat. The grippy part was the whole reason I wanted stainless ones. I could have gotten a single pair of the 10" stainless name brand ones which are higher quality and likely not faced either of these rough edge / smooth gripper issues but got it in my head if I was gonna get a stainless pair I also wanted the longer ones. There was absolutely no name brand tongs over 10" and all the longer tongs on Amazon looked to be identical so figured I'd go for this 2 pair deal. For the price I really don't regret it but I can touch them up on my wire wheel to smooth over the rough edges, or sand/file if necessary, and cut the grooves in the grippy part deeper and end up with some nice tongs on the cheap plus a 15 minute time investment. If you're not using them for feeding and aren't fussy about the grippy grooves these would be great. And if you are using them for feeding but are a little handy and don't mind touching them up a bit they are a decent deal. If you are using them for feeding and are not handy or expect them to be perfect upon arrival I'd go with some name brand tongs designed for reptiles. ... show more

bought to reach into the saltwater aquarium - snails flip over or food drops into crevices in the live rock - whatever - a couple stars less since after only a couple uses they are rusted. too bad they weren't made of a material more resistant to rust.

    • Off label use - detach brown widow egg sacks
Part of my system for getting rid of brown widow egg sacks on my patio furniture. Remove the egg sack with long tweezers and then burn at a distance. You may guess I have anachrophobia!
