  • Great pot for bushcraft kit
This pot is perfect for a bushcraft kit. The locking lid is tight and secure when latched. It's solid and well made with tight tolerances. It's not as light as a titanium pot but this will hold up to years of use without issue. I have a few Zebra Billy Bush Pots (the Firebox versions with the steel locking latches) that I thought were the best all around bush pots. I bought this Fire Maple pot on on a whim, figuring I'd give it a try and use it as a spare, only to have it become the pot I grab first now. The compact size, wire bail handle that folds down tight to the sides, and flat locking lid make it fit better in a pack than Zebra pots. Being able to lock the lid regardless of the bail handle position is a great feature. It's big enough to store a well stocked survival kit, boil almost 1.5L of water (it's actually bigger than the stated 1.2L), and make a sizable meal at camp. The included mesh bag is oversized and loose, but functional. The only thing that would make it better would be to include, or make your own, well fitted carry bag out of Cordura or canvas. Great pot, well worth the money. Hell, I think I just talked myself into buying another one... :) ... show more

  • Outstanding quality construction. A 'must have' while camping. Very useful design.
I camp a lot and I find this to be my most useful cooking/boiling pot. A very practical design. Perfect for cooking food or heating liquids for one or two people. High quality construction. I like the pour spout, the locking lid and the two handles. A+

  • Coffee and food!
True stainless, you can do coffee and food in this, or water. It’s versatile which I like. The locking lid is great especially when packing it around. The heat proof handles make it easy to work with once your stuff is cooked and ready. Great find especially for back packers!

  • Fire Maple 1.2L Camping Pot
Has good features overall: pail handle stays up, has fold-out grip handles, stainless steel. A little on the small side. But big enough to heat water for freeze-dried meals, make coffee, heat water to bath.

  • Lost handle + broken lid clip --- Replaced by manufacture
UPDATE: I received unsolicited contact to see if they could help resolve my lid issue. (see below) They could not get me a new lid. They sent me a new pot! I have been using this pot for a long time now. I use it daily as part of a pore over coffee system. Since the lid works I tried baking this morning. Give that a try the next time you are in the woods. It is a real treat. At $40 get this one! The handle hooked on something and came off. My fault but note it will come off. Next The little snap that holds the lid on the pot broke off. It looked to be the obtuse angle was very brittle. Other than that. It is a great pot for camp. Made coffee this morning on my Jon boat. Had Ramen noodles and steamed veggies for lunch. Croppie fillet and French fried taters for dinner. ... show more

  • Absolutely dreamy on camping trips to make large volumes of ramen or boil water for tea
Absolutely love this thing. Comparatively speaking, you can fit a lot of stuff inside of it while packing it for a backpacking trip or camping trip. I do like the fact that it's large, and doesn't fall through the grill grates at most national park and US Forest Service campsites. Very easy to manage and handle. Love the construction and the quality of the metal as well. I believe it is a stainless steel. Cleans up really nicely. I mainly use it to boil water for tea, and also to make two packs of ramen. ... show more

  • Great camping steamer
This is exceptionally well made, the locks are a plus as well. It's great for steaming a meal in a hunting camp or just out camping, I use mine with an alcohol stove and it works great.

  • My favorite by far
Well, i have used many.. i used MSR for years. Switched to all three sizes of Zebra. And all worked fine. After all it is a cook pot not an exotic and rare thing to find. However. This pot has butterfly handles AND a lock down lid with a bail handle. I love this and lid stays put. I dont really need the steamer inside. A small eating bowl would be better in my opinion. I am not a chef, i eat to stay alive. This is a very high quality pot. Purchase one. This will be the last you will buy. Its that good.. ... show more
