  • From Price, Looks to Sound...
Color: Black
Jadeaudio is FiiO's sister company, that said They look like FiiO had a hand in their engineering.. (the outer part of the shells could be a finger print magnet. If that sort of thing freaks you out... Keep looking. Not for you; If not.. 👍🏼). They rest comfortably in the ear. The ear tips provided should suit/fit most folks ears with no problem being they've provided 3 types/styles to chose from. Just please make sure you use the proper size or just like any other IEM they won't sound as they should. I've watched videos & read reviews. Whatever folks are saying about the bass. They are obviously waay too picky. Most people won't even notice the things brought up in such reviews. As far as I'm concerned they have the perfect amount of bass for general listening across the music genres for most people. Mid range (vocals) are beautiful & up front with a wide enough sound stage to be musically immersive . High end frequencies (treble) is present & very noticeable but not shrill or ear piercing. The cord provided is suitable, can get a lil tangly at times, kinda floppy (which I kinda like) , looks quite nice & holds itself together when curled up for storage. Doesn't get too kinked up, It's a decent cord over all...not crappy, not highend.. But a good cable over all. Plus you can swap it out for an upgraded cable if you like or go bluetooth. In closing, if you're looking for a really nice set of IEM's that won't break the wallet & give you great sound at an affordable price. You're in the right path in finding these. There's many out there to choose from these days. I have several. I'm partial to these personally. I'm rather happy with them considering what's on the market & have found them to be a wonderful option in the sea of IEM's that's out there. If you decide to make this a purchase. I don't think you will be disappointed. Just make sure you have the right size ear tips to make a proper "seal" for your ear canal & you'll be more than happy with these. ... show more

  • Better tuning than the EA3 but worse technically
Color: Black
This isn't a bad IEM, it's just a worse value and worse overall than Jade Audio's other offerings the EA1 and the EA3. The JH3 is very similar to the EA3 in terms of configuration: they are both hybrids that use basically the same shell (this one just has a metal plate), use the same large bass driver, and let BA drivers handle the high end. The difference is that the EA3 uses a single Knowles BA driver and the JH3 uses 2 "custom" BA drivers made by Jade Audio (FiiO) themselves. 2 BAs are better than 1, right? well that doesn't really bear out here unfortunately. I have found that generally speaking the quality of the drivers matters much more than how many are used. The BAs in this IEM just aren't very good, a bit rough and scratchy sounding. Ideally you use multi-driver configurations to increase sonic extension and/or lessen distortion, but if that's the aim here I don't want to know what just one of these BAs sounds like. The Knowles sings in comparison, it sounds clearer and faster with hardly a hint of distortion. If you compare the tuning of the IEMs you would also be confused by my preference, because the EA3 has much wonkier tuning out of the box, it sounds way too bright; The JH3 in comparison is much better controlled, with an approachable tuning that is very listenable out of the box. If I never EQ'd them I might never notice the weak points of the JH3, but after dialing both of them in the EA3 is clearly better to my ears. Not much to say about the bass: it's the same as the EA3, very adequately powerful and big but lacking a bit of the impact and control of stiffer drivers. Still, at 13.5mm this bass is no slouch, very good for electronic music, and bass boom/bleed is kept to a minimum. Like all the Jade Audio IEMs they can be port-tuned with micropore tape if you want even more bass. My advice: Get the EA3 and use the EA3 autoeq preset and tune to your preference from there (I turn down the highs even a bit more). OR: if you don't want to or know how to EQ get the EA1, which is a fantastic IEM. It's not a hybrid but it's one of the best 1DD IEMs in my opinion, very tight, tactile bass and clear highs, great for rock and metal. That one needs a tad of EQ as well but much less, you could listen to it out of the box no problem. As usual Jade Audio/FiiO deliver the best accessories in the business, the JH3 comes with the same cable as the FD1 which is a great cable. But then the silver cable that comes with the EA1/EA3 is just as good just thinner. ... show more

  • Decent value
Color: Black
Good value for the price. I’m not an audiophile, but I can tell the difference between $15 headphones and $70 headphones. These don’t disappoint for sound. The fit isn’t perfect for me, but everyone will be different. Keeping them with no plan to replace.

  • Great Value IEMs
Color: Black
Upgraded to the Jade JH3 from my Jade EA1's and have been very pleased. I have found great value in this IEM. Personally, I like the sound of this IEM that has 1 DD and 2 BA's that have let the treble come through more cleanly (not as muddled in the mix) and also has a much more spatial acoustic. It no longer sounds like just two speakers playing in your ears and gives depth to the sound that I'd not heard in an IEM before. Just to be clear, I'm fairly young in the high quality music field and have not gone down the path of expensive headphones, the EA1's we're my first "hi-fi" IEMs. My LG V series phones started my search for better headphones and higher quality music. Lastly, I have been using these with an EQ to adjust to my personal mix, so was not exactly my preferred mix out-of-box, but I get them where I like them! ... show more
