It might not fit my needs so i am not gonna dock it for what it is. It fits loads of different areas on the boat but i might have to order a larger one as the tire will hit the ground at pretty much the only place i have available to mount it. Thing is solid and easy to hook up though!

    • Great product, price was awesome, until you see the hardware, you get what you pay for.

I'm tickled that the product would have a corrosion resistant coating to it, yet the hardware is a nice shiney nickel plate, that as soon as it sniffs the salt air it starts to rust. Pros: I love the design, I had simple u bolt spare tire carrier, that was essentially in the way if I haver had to use it. This thing makes access to the spare much much easier, and it doesn't obstruct the boat in anyway. Cons: The body has a corrosive resistant coating, but the hardware isn't. In this case you get what you pay for. Instead of installing as-is and waiting for the rust to come, I went out and got galvanized for the long bolts that attach to the trailer, and stainless for the bolts that hold the spare tire. Buying the galvanized hardware, not so bad, but stainless, the bolts are about $3.50 a piece, plus the nuts. Overall about $13/$14 worth of additional hardware. Ideally, if you can pay a little more and find this style in all galvanized, might be worth the few extra bucks. ... show more
