Description

Hurricane targets feature highly visible aiming points that are easy to see against the contrasting background, even at longer ranges. Practice for hunting with the deer vitals on the back of Hurricane Bag Targets. For longer target life, the vitals are positioned off-center so they don't line up with aiming points on the target front. Hurricane's proprietary design gives you outstanding target performance. A strap handle makes Hurricane easy to carry.

  • Well made.
Excellent target. It’s worth every cent. I use my compound bow set at 60lb pull, and have also used a crossbow with bolts on this target. Arrows and bolts are easily removed, and it stops everything. If it stops xbow bolts, so trust that it easily stops compound bow arrows. The colors also make the target show well in low light, like dawn and dusk. Best value for the price I’ve found in a target. I couldn’t ask for a better target. ... show more

  • good target for cross bows
I was very happy when I shot my first cross bow arrows into the Hurricane target. It stopped the arrows easily, penetrating about 8 inches. The reason I went to this bag target was that being older, I could no longer pull arrows out of my conventional solid target. My 6'4" very strong son also had trouble getting them out of my old target. With this Hurricane target I can pull out the arrows with one hand easily.....! After examining the arrow holes,it appears that it will last a long time. I don't shoot 10 to 30 arrows a day into it as I did at one time. It will likely last for years. I made a very simple stand for it to get it up higher off the ground, though it sits very well on the ground and is not affected by the high speed arrows. It took an hour to make a stand. The August or September issue of Field and Stream has an article on building a very fancy bag target stand complete with a roof. Though a cheaper and smaller bag of a different brand is available from Walmart it appears to be not nearly as good. I felt the price for this bag was very good, much less than solid box type targets. The Hurricane is very solid, seems well built, and is strong. I highly recommend this target bag especially for those shooting crossbows and other very fast bows. ... show more

  • Quality Target for Crossbows
When searching for a quality target, this one received high marks for the price. I use a Barnett Jackal crossbow, so I needed something with strong stopping power. This target at 15 yards stopped the arrow between 6 and 8 inches. I do not use a stand for the bag; it really doesn't need one unless you want it to be higher. The eyelets seem to be very sturdy if I ever do decide to create a stand, though. The colors are vibrant and the hurricane bulls-eyes are easy to aim at. The reverse side does have the outline of a deer's vitals, which is nice for hunters. The size of the bag is very satisfactory. After shooting a few shots, I can see why other reviews mention the need to eventually put duct tape on it. As with such a great bag, I want to make it last as long as I can! There's a warning that comes on the shipping box, which I missed, but was careful anyway. The warning mentioned something about not cutting the box or else you may cut the target. If I had cut carelessly and deep, I would have sliced the top of the bag, which would not have cool. Be advised, the top of the target is pressing against the top of the box. ... show more

  • Perfect!
I love this target! It's absolutely perfect! My husband and I share it to practice with our compound bows and its great. So far very durable, I could see how after time the canvas ill fall apart from tight clusters over the same areas, but what target doesn't? My field arrows don't penetrate too deep, and I'm shooting from 25+ yards easily. I like the the 2 sides....one with deer anatomy and the other various targets. We set it up on an old kiddie table we have, the thing has yet to fall over, and yet light enough to carry in and out of the shed, plus it's 10 bucks cheaper on amazon than at our local outfitters. I will be buying another.....perfect for the price. Arrows remove easily....my 4 yr old son can pull them out for us. ... show more

  • Great target
I shoot at this with my crossbow which flings bolts at 315fps. I've put about 100 bolts into this bag. Wish I wouldn't have ruined 3 bolts with my own homemade targets before buying this. As others have said, there is a deer with vitals target on the other side. I prop it up to simulate quartering and find it much more useful than the target side shown in the description. I've actually put a few spitfire mechanical broadheads into it as well. The blades fold back so the hole is just a little bit bigger and I haven't broke one yet. I really like this bag. It's big enough that I haven't yet missed it at a respectable range and it's not too heavy to lug around or toss in the truck. Well worth the money. ... show more

  • Well constructed and works great at stopping arrows from my husband's compound bow
Exactly as described. Well constructed and works great at stopping arrows from my husband's compound bow. He really likes shooting on the side with the deer vitals. The fact that there are many areas to aim at on both sides will help it to last that much longer. He has had this since Christmas and has used it many times and it is still holding up without issues. I do write reviews for items I have received at deeply discounted rates. However, I purchased this item at full price without promise of a review. I write reviews to help others make informed decisions. It is my sincere hope that my review was helpful. If it was not, then please let me know what I left out that you'd want to know. I always aim to improve. ... show more

  • short lived
It's heavy right out of the box and a couple hundred mini crossbow bolts later it's become a gift for a less fortunate friend. It's even heavier now with all the aluminum bolt parts stuck inside of it. Not this manufacturer's fault though. Holes don't heal like foam targets. They get bigger in the weather. Loved the color. It really pops in low light conditions. Very solid. Would probably absorb a stinger middle. I guess if forty five bucks is nothing to you for a few weeks worth of fun then go get it. I just wished it had lasted longer. Has a cool deer vitals illustration on one side. But over all it made me miss the foam I shot into twenty years ago. ... show more
