  • Quality unit, glad I chose this one
I was worried as it looked small, and there were a couple complaints, it in fact was much smaller than my current and very old 1.5hp pump...it fit right in place only needing a tile to raise it a bit and the only thing I had to do was adjust the inlet side pipe where the last installer didn't use the slip joint...nice and easy install...convenient carry handle on top...quality made piece...runs quiet amd cool...I had an electrician wire it for me as I'm timid about 220v. Although this also runs on 110v as I understand, my system was 220v. I'm happy I purchased this unit over the $199 bargain one amd definitely like it over a $1500 one, lol. The only problem...Amazon shipped it in a huge box with zero packing...glad the factory box was well insulated...Amazon sucks! ... show more

  • So far so good (3/19/23)
3/19/23 (long post) - So far so good. I was glad when it was delivered the box didn't look like it was manhandled although one of the styrofoam pieces was broken but the pump didn't appear damaged. After reading the reviews everyone is correct the wires that are attached don't seem good enough to hold up especially here in southern Arizona so I removed the original wiring and replaced it which my wiring (solid wire instead of stranded). I installed similar lug terminals as it had to be able to connect to the terminal block. All this can be seen in my pictures. Ignore the color of my wires coming in since I didn't have enough red wire when I replaced the wiring from my controller to the pump and used white as one of the wires. It is still 220V coming in. Since it doesn't have the angle conduit connector for the conduit I had to improvise and it happened that the conduit fits the outside of the existing threaded plastic thing that is outside the box once I removed the plastic nut that used to hold the original wire in place. You can also see that in the pictures. Biggest problem as you can see was the height of the new pump is slightly shorter than original so I had to find something to raise it up slightly to be able to have the horizontal coupling fit. Once that was done everything lined up for the most part and just needed a coupling on either connection and a small piece of pipe in-between to make it all work. As everyone has said this pump is quiet and seems to be working great. Suction seems to be on par with my prior pump as my vacuum is running around at around the same speed. I'll see more later today since my pump has been out for a few weeks and there is a bunch of debris on the bottom of the pool. I'm hoping that this lasts as long as the Hayward that was in there but but even if it doesn't the price point was good enough that it is still worth it I believe. I went with this pump as it had the the same horse power that I had originally and the 2" connections which I already had also. I also didn't want to change my controller for a multi speed pump setup since I have all the automation built into this one thanks to a few wifi relays that I bought here on Amazon that let me control the operation of the pump, valves, and heater from my phone. I will update at a later time with how the pump is doing. By the way I took a bunch of pictures along the way and hopefully that helps someone else out. ... show more

  • Good quality alternative to old OEM pump
Bought this pump based on the good reviews. The price is good compared to the available OEM models. The pump appears to be well-made and robust, with stainless fasteners and heavy duty plastic body. The union fittings and built-in handle made installation easier. Overall it has a quality feel. In operation, the pump is very quiet, and certainly quieter than the pump it replaced. One note, the AC cord is attached to the motor through a custom watertight fitting, and the cord is about 5-feet long. This was not long enough for my installation, so I added a junction box near the pump, and used standard conduit back to the timer. It may be possible to replace the cord from the motor j-box, but I prefer conduit anyway. Hopefully it will last many years. I will provide and update if any issues arise. ... show more

  • Great value
Very quiet and works well. Great price. Installed in spring of 2023 and left it outside for winter. No issues.

  • Very quiet and well built.
This pump was bought to replace another (major name brand) pump that had failed. The old pump replaced the same one as before it which also failed in the same way, so I was determined to get a different brand to avoid that design flaw. I’m very impressed so far, it’s well built, the included fittings were good, the wiring was easy to install and I appreciated that this is a single speed pump. It runs very well, very quiet and doesn’t have any extra features that I didn’t want such as led screens or Bluetooth or WiFi capabilities, it’s just a strong simple pump. ... show more

  • Within 6 months pump is overheating and shutting off. Contacted the actual company, no response!
I bought this pump because I needed a new one, obviously, and I got it based on the reviews. It was supposed to be really great, worked well, quiet, etc. Within 6 months, it's begun overheating and barely sucks in the water the way it should. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. Since it was over the usual amount of time, the seller wasn't responsible anymore, so I had to contact the company of the manufacturer directly. I did.... two weeks ago, still no response. Going to be calling them, but please stay away from this product. It's trash and not worth the money. I wish I'd gone with the one my pool guy recommended, but the reviews fooled me. DEFINITELY not worth the hassle, time, money, etc. ... show more

  • Skeptical, but after 3 years.
Like most people, I was very skeptical about this pump given it's price. It arrived well packaged and the quality looked good. I've been running this pump 8 hours daily for just over 3 years without a single issue. It easily pumps water 13 feet vertical, through 6 solar panels and back to the pool without hesitation. We noticed a reduction in power consumption the very next month, which is always a welcome surprise. Having run Pentair and Hayward pumps my entire life, this unit has given me faith to say it's actually better for a fraction of the money. ... show more

  • They wanted $500 to fix my old pump.
I installed this one myself. It's quieter, more powerful, and it was pretty easy to install considering I've never done it before. In fact, it's was so easy, I'm tempted to just buy another one at this price and put it away until I need it. (Hopefully a long time from now)
