    • Tip is not spring loaded.
This bottling wand relies on gravity to seal the end of the wand. All my previous wands had a spring loaded tip that ensures a good seal and no leaks. The wand itself is well made and is correctly sized for bottling. It only has the one flaw, but in my opinion, not having a leaking tip is probably the most important feature of a bottling wand. ... show more

    • This filler works great!
I tried a stainless steel filler that was a bigger diameter than the plastic one and although the stainless one was good quality, it left too much head space in the top of the bottles and being spring loaded, it kept slipping off the pontil in the bottom of wine bottles. The plunger on the Fermtech filler shuts off by the pressure of the liquid and it doesn't take much downward pressure to get the flow going. It does leak a little after taking it out of the bottle but after a few taps, it's pretty much clear sailing and on to the next bottle. wine bottle filler works well. But when a wine bottle is full it can be difficult to remove from the carboy without spilling some. But, It is better than siphoning by hand.
