got it mounted,installed sd card,wifi connected,...which took me a few tries resetting,instructions were good,i struggled w wifi name/password but thats cause I'm tech challenged,in the app you can choose mechanical chime,or electronic chime,which is why my physical ding dong wasnt ding donging,now it is,it does pick up cars driving by,i set motion to low, and you can adjust the area,as our proud american flag triggers it in a breeze,im still learning the features ...it has a usb plug,if you want to bring it inside i guess,i ended up using small wire nuts,the angled plate was nice bonus,wish the reset button was accessed without loosening the torx screw,it has lots of app features like device sharing images,and video,im glad im getting it figured out,ill get a 128gb sd card,as 32 was what i had on hand,reading reviews shows me other feit products can be used with same app,so far we are liking the doorbell ,knowing your 2.4g wifi name,and password a plus,otherwise i wouldve paired much easier,had my brain twisted ,but all good now,i like the notification, and soon will test the audio 2 way ,you just have to play with setting or watch videos,i hope it holds up,no subscriptions is great ... show more

Clear video and working great. Continuous video mode viewing only has 1 speed so slow to look thru but motion event video also works to view. Also could not get automation programming to work. I have another Feit floodlight camera that the automation programming works but could not get to work on this door camera. Easy to install. This camera is by no means perfect, but if you read reviews for other doorbell cameras, you know none of them are. This is, however, quite good the vast majority of the time. It will occasionally disconnect from the WiFi, but to be fair it is pretty far from the router and always reconnects itself. It also will detect movement if a bug flies by the camera at night. All that aside, it records the pictures and videos locally, so no subscription, and it's been powered on 24/7 for over six months straight without any issues. The doorbell is really good with the Feit app. I have other products that are a part of the Feit ecosystem and it makes it so easy to just manage all my feit stuff in one app. The doorbell will notify you on your phone when someone presses the doorbell and you can choose to watch the video feed and talk to them. It also has on board memory so it's infinitely better than others that require cloud storage (yearly fee). It is so much better than ring. ... show more

Updating my review and dropping another star after getting a Nest Doorbell that works so much better. You definitely get the quality you pay for with this one, which is cheap. Picked up some of their smart plugs from Costco, so thought it would be nice to keep to a single environment for smart devices if possible. The HD picture is good, but beyond that it's been unimpressive. Installation wasn't hard for a seasoned handyman/DIYer. It replaces the existing chime, which is problematic because the mobile device ringing from a button press only worked a handful of times over the 4 months we've had it, and usually only while testing it after making a configuration change. Only saving grace is that we enabled the Alexa integration and it does ring the Alexa devices when the button is pressed. The motion sensing is overly sensitive, picking up movement outside of the set area which I've had to make extremely small to only look for movement on one segment of our sidewalk to prevent a motion notification every 30 seconds. After a couple of months, the speaker became extremely fuzzy even though it's in a covered location (no water). Resetting it per their slow customer support didn't help. So now the person at the door can't hear what we are saying and the chime sounds like a car accident in progress. Added good quality name brand high speed SD cards for continuous recording, but their app constantly detects the cards as abnormal and needing a format before viewing. The hyperlinks from the motion notifications in the app also rarely work, so you have to scroll through the video to find a particular event if you can get to the storage, which is extremely slow and tedious. ... show more

Use this for my Florida condo. Easy to use. A little too sensitive on the motion sensor. Unit is difficult to set up using android app but takes seconds if you use the iphone. Then after that use any app and product is very easy to use. Brookstone model is the exact same one. December 2023 Unit is now one and a half years in. Picture still very good. Sound just ok. Unit goes offline if wifi is weak to front door. It's pros are no monthly fee and relatively easy to set up. Needs a 2.4 network. I don’t like how dark the picture is under a shaded porch. I’m sure this product would work out great for a front door that receives a lot of natural sunlight. Notifications are about almost 30 seconds delay from real life movement. No true need to buy additional equipment like a chime box. Once connected to your outdoor wiring doorbell set bell to mechanical doorbell on the app, and you are set. If you don’t have an indoor mechanical doorbell, I suggest buying the chime box. I ultimately ended up going with the Feit Electrical doorbell that is a little more pricey then this one, and picture quality is better for an all day shaded porch area. ... show more
