  • Not working - read all the reviews!
Size: 2-Gallon
Bought in August and here is our first snow and it’s 14 with single digits at night. Plugged in on flat service in outlet. Followed all instructions. So far it is not working. No heat. Checked outlet. All is good. $40. Company wants me to ship back at my expense and wait several weeks. Then what?

  • Quit working b4 year warranty was up. Had to ship back to Farm Innovators, waiting on replacement.
Size: 2-Gallon
Had a big bowl and this bucket and they both quit working before the one year warranty was up. (And note, that they were only used during freezing winter months.) I keep them clean and up on a pallet so they're not sitting on the ground. You have to pay to ship them back to Farm Innovators. I received the replacement bowl last year and I'm still waiting on the replacement bucket to be sent to me. (It's been over 3 weeks already) ... show more

  • Good buy, would buy again!
Size: 2-Gallon
Using this bucket for our goats. I have only had this bucket for less than year so I can't speak about it's longevity. We have had a cold winter here in Montana with a lot of below zero temps. We had a few weeks where it did not get up to 0F, and the coldest so far was -38 degrees F. The bucket is kept outdoors beside the pen and has froze up only a few times. Each time was with very high winds and blowing snow. Works better than I thought it would. Highly recommend for goats and the like. I just wish I bought the 3 gallon... ... show more

  • Sturdy, keeps water liquid - for a limited time
Size: 2-Gallon
Heavy duty and works great even at -18, which is as cold as it gets around here. It says not to plug into an extension cord but electrical outlets near farm animals are few and far between so we have to use an extension cord with the 3-foot cord. It works fine. UPDATE: So, it stopped working the next winter, just wouldn't heat up in freezing weather. My husband has a electronic contract manufacture background so I asked him to take a look. The short story is that the components that heat up are attached to the bottom of the bucket with 'glue'. What happens to glue when it heats up? Right, it softens, lets go so the switch is no longer in contact with the bucket bottom, and so once that happens never turns on the switch. Designed for the dump. Luckily he's going to refasten with silicone to see if we can get a few winters use out of it. I think there are better, more reliable ways to keep water liquid for less money so won't be buying it again when he can't make it 'go' anymore. ... show more

  • Life savor
Size: 2-Gallon
Here in Texas we had a week long below 0 degree weather this last winter and my goats water stayed frozen. Ordered 2 of these and WOW my goats were HAPPY to finally have water. These kept the water from freezing and kept it warm enough so the goats wouldn't get a brain freeze. Would definitely order more if ever needed. ... show more

  • and did not thaw for a good two weeks
Size: 2-Gallon
We have just gone through several ice storms. Four of our hen houses have minimal heat, but the yard where we house extra roosters does not. We bought five of these - one for each group of birds. Even the heated bucket that we use to water the roosters - who have no heater - kept their water warm enough to drink. The unheated 2 gallon buckets that we normally water the chickens with froze solid the first night of the freeze, and did not thaw for a good two weeks. But thanks to these heated buckets, our birds never had to drink ice cold water, or worse yet - go without water because their water had frozen. My chickens give these buckets a 5 star rating! ... show more

  • 2-Gallon Heated Water Bucket - Farm Innovators
Size: 2-Gallon
I really like this heated bucket. The water temp seems cold to the touch, but does not ice over. The standard plastic 2 gallon water bucket (sitting beside Farm Innovators) was frozen solid. I have the water bucket on the outside on the walkway beside my house, plugged in to an outlet. The Nighttime Temperature was in the 20s for 2-3 days. Then back to low 30s-40's with daytime highs upper 40s to 50 degrees. Kentucky weather really changes quickly. This is why I like the Farm Innovators Heated Water Bucket. It is exactly the ice-free water container I needed for my dog, Edna is a medium size , 13 year old part Chow and drinks a lot of water, summer and winter. In the freezing parts of winter I would rotate 2 buckets, keep 1 inside to thaw, clean it, and refill with fresh water. I have seen the fresh water bucket ice over in less than 20 minutes, making it difficult for Edna to get a drink. I really hope this unit will last several winters. I really like it and recommend it to others. ... show more
