  • Overall Ok for Some Occassions
Just looking at this trenchcoat it's really cute though that doesn't translate exactly how I'd like. The color is true to the one in the description photos. It does have a pretty classic trenchcoat look. I think the thing to remember is that it says oversized. So there are some areas that aren't going to look exactly like the typical dressy trenchcoats that some of us, including myself, have worn for years. The sleeves have the puff style to them. This is currently one of the trends on all sorts of tios whether it's shirts, sweaters, or even coats. The hem of the shoulders on these trendy items do not sit at the top of your shoulder and that is how they are designed to be. I personally don't like this trend and style of the sleeves but depending on the piece it has grown on me a bit. I'm a small according to the size chart if you consider that my bust is also about 7 inches smaller than the described bust size. I'm small chested. So for me, there is a lot of extra room throughout the chest area but otherwise I am stuck straight and the jacket comes down without being pushed out. It honestly just looks too big on me. Add the puffy sleeves and the lowered shoulder hemline and it makes it look baggy through the top. It's not a thick coat that will keep me warm in winter. It's a medium thickness but more on the thinner side. I think it will be more appropriate for cool days, with perhaps a bit of wind, to take the chill off. Since it is oversized and the small is even big on me I will be able to wear an extra layer underneath with probably a bit of room to spare. For sizing references I am almost 5'2" and weigh about 112 pounds. It comes down very long on me. Right above my ankles. If I were bigger chested the length might be a bit shorter. The belt is indeed awkward. I'm not quite sure what to do with it yet but as it's super long I feel it does take away from the aesthetic. I also wish that it buttoned down from top to at least a few buttons below the waistline more like traditional classic trenchcoats. This one leaves a lot of gaps for the wind to come through. Overall it's an ok trenchcoat that I feel is more for looks if it fits right and you can figure out how to make it work with your outfit. While the materials used are decent quality I do not feel they justify the value being asked for this coat. ... show more

  • And the belt does what?
At first sight I was excited about this trench coat. It's long with cute sleeves and should fit with room to spare. Well, there were a couple of things I was not expecting. First, the feel of the material. I have a few trench coats, but this one feels a little off. The color isn't a vibrant color. It's more of a muted black. The sleeve detail is super cute, but it has a horrible belt. This belt is WAY TOO LONG! Look, I'm a chubby lady but as you can see in the first picture of me wearing it, the belt (after buckling it loosely) has so much to spare that it comes all the way down past the hemline. The thought on that is, what? Also, the belt holes are sown poorly so it feels like using the belt holes will tear it. Oh, yeah and let's not forget that the holes are way farther in on the belt. That means they meant for the belt excess to be that long. The thing is, the belt has a buckle, so you can't exactly tie it. I did try that, but it left way too much access still dangling. So, I decided to make up my own trend. As you can see in the last picture, I tied the belt in a bow with the buckle at the strap end. Now, as for the fit, I chose my size and looked at the sizing chart before I did so. The thing is, according to the size chart, the top portion should be a lot bigger on me than just being able to close the button. The middle of the trench doesn't close which makes no sense since the hem is supposed to be really big for my hips. What that means is that in order for it to look decent, I have to wear it open and tie the belt like a bow or just leave the belt out altogether. ... show more

  • Not Okay for the Tartus
The Tartus was Dr. Who's ship, for those who don't know. I saw this coat and thought of David Tennant and his black trench coat. Unfortunately, this coat does not do anything magical and it needs some magic to transform into a coat you will want to wear. The collar did not lay anything like it shows in the picture. The buttons are quite oversized and the belt can almost be wrapped around your body twice. If the buckle were not on the belt, it would not be so bad. I think I will remove the buckle and make the belt shorter if I decide to keep it. The sleeves were the right length for me, but I am 5'1" and would be too short for most people. The sleeves are a bit poofy but the coat is a straight cut down. It will not keep you warm in cold weather unless you wear a few layers beneath the coat. If you are wearing it just for a bit of a dash, it will fail you there as well. It is quite a bit of material that looks awkward buttoned and belted. I feel the material is poor in quality. This is definitely not a great purchase, just a passable purchase if you need a lightweight coat. ... show more

  • Fits perfectly; if you want breathing room, order a size larger.
This double-breasted trench coat is one hundred percent Polyester. It has long sleeves, a collar, dropped shoulders, two side pockets, an extremely long belt, and is super long in length. For reference, I am five foot seven inches tall, and this coat came down past my knees while I was wearing it. This is a double-breasted coat so there are six buttons on the front of the coat. Three actually are decorative while the other three are functioning. This is perfect for business or casual dress. You can add a few accessories to dress it up and make the coat look a bit more elegant. A long plaid scarf would definitely look pretty fancy with this coat. Pair that with some leather gloves and you’ll look super nice. You could wear this coat to church or work, should the occasion call for it. Pairing this coat with trousers or pants would look ideal, or even a nice dress. This is definitely a classier coat to have in your garment collection. Hand washing is recommended but machine washing is available. Do not bleach. Do not iron. I would definitely recommend this trench coat with the caveat that it fits perfectly. If you want to have it fit loosely, order one size larger. ... show more
