First, these are now a permanent fixture on my car. Primarily because I don’t loathe myself enough to want to put myself through having to reinstall them. My day job is as a tech writer. For software, not hardware, but imma still take a stab at providing the next person to buy these the information that I dearly WISH someone else had included in their review. Firstly, you see those rubber gaskets in with all the hardware? Yeah, throw those away. Even with all the lube in the world, those aren’t gonna fit in there, it’s THAT tight. Now, let’s move onto just getting those mother-fudgin cross bars in. Yeah, that’s going to require some help from on-high. And also some inventive curse words. Because I promise you, I invented plenty of them while attempting all the wrong ways to get them to fit. Or, maybe you’re like me, and your neighbor’s 19yo son is taking out the garbage, so you guilt, er, rope him into helping you. The right way to get them installed? That requires putting both bolts in on one side, finger-tightened down but not all the way. Then bow up the middle while pushing down on the opposite side. If you pray to all the almighty gods and sing a song while whistling Dixie, you’ll be successful in wedging it into place just enough to have to then lean all your weight onto it so you can put the bolts in. It was at this point that I discovered that I had forgotten to take one of the plastic fasteners from the dealership out of the bolt hole before starting. Cue another round of excessive cursing, performing those steps in reverse, then starting over. You get the idea - it’s a MASSIVE PITA to install these. At one… ok, many points I considered returning them and forking over the $500 to the dealership to install their crossbars. But I’m cheap, and exceedingly stubborn, so I suffered through it. And they’re on!! And also - NEVER coming off again. N_E_V_E_R!!! ... show more

The front crossbar went in really easily but the rear was an extremely tight fit. After a few tries I did manage to get it in. This was my first time installing crossbars. I do like the matte black look!

I usually don't buy any item without reviews, but the CR-V is new and I wanted cross bars. This started with an amazing package, the way the product is packed is just amazing. Someone took really pride in this product and the packaging of it. Assembly is super easy, just a few screws, took less than 20 minutes to have both bars installed. All parts are aluminum or stainless steel, not like the ones I got for the Odyssey, where the attachments were plastic. The quality is AMAZING, all parts are rock solid and very well machined. The bars are a little on the long side though for the sport model - not sure how the fit is for others. They fit, a snug fit, maybe 1/4 inch shorter would be better, they allow for adjustment but I pretty much put them in at the minimum. Came with instructions and had stickers on which way to face the bars, pretty easy to install. Just try to do it in the shade or not on a hot day, unlike me doing it in the desert during the afternoon. Seems sturdy enough. Just worry somebody could easily come take it off but I’m just hoping nobody does?? Will be a great way to add storage space for a young woman who keeps moving. ... show more

I bought this for a crv 2023 hybrid sport. It comes with the pieces to install it in the rail of the car (so must be the version with the rail already). It is a snug fit so install it is a little hard to do, but I think you want a tight fit for the piece that will hold your bags and stuff in the road. ... show more
