I wish I had read the other 1 star review before purchasing. I don't like leaving a bad review because I generally liked the company but this is not what I expected. I just opened my new Ezlo plus controller and I am starting to regret trying to upgrade from my dead Vera Lite. I can either spend what little free time I have with my family or spend all my free time in the next couple of months trying to learn how to hack my way through a product that doesn't appear ready for public release. I am not a programmer/coder but I was able to hack the vera lite to do what I want with plugins, virtual switches and PLEG codes. That was before I had kids. Now I'd rather spend the countless hours it took with my family. IDK why they couldn't just refine and improve what they already have (and what I'm already familiar with) instead of reinventing all the apps and taking away a website interface. I figured migrating to the Ezlo plus would require a lot of effort on my part but wasn't prepared to completely start at zero again. If you know how to code and enjoy/have time to beta test products, this might be a good product for you. I need something a little more ready for the general public. They have a pretty active forum to help you do just about anything with their controller. When I started looking at the forum, just about everything for this product appears to still be under development. You will essentially be a beta tester for this product. Now I understand all the people on their forum complaining about the upgrade from Ui5 to Ui7 when I first got the Vera Lite and those complaining about this company constantly releasing things before they are ready. ... show more

    • NOT as user friendly like the old controller
I am a retired IT person. My old Vera quit working; it worked well enough for 7 years, so I purchased the new Ezlo Plus. Because my switches were paired to the old Vera and it was not working, they would not pair with this one. I tried everything on the internet to unpair/reset the devices, but nothing worked. I bought new switches and those worked much better. The Ezlo Plus connects to my Android phone with Vera Smarter Home Control App but the app is completely different for Ezlo Plus. You'll need the use the videos because Read a TUTORIAL does not work (I like to read the directions). My old controller would allow you to use your laptop to control switches too, I could go back and forth between my phone and laptop. Now I can download an app that is rated 4.5 but it will not recognize my controller as being online. I was in town and tried to pull up my controller to turn off a light, I could not get the controller to connect. I bought this thinking that it would be familiar and easy to set up but not so. ... show more

    • Don't Buy Ezlo Security
This product and company deserve ZERO stars. I was a Vera user for 9 years and was very happy with the product and services. I upgraded to the new Ezlo Plus controller in January 2024 and everything went downhill fast. Things worked fine at first. It seemed like every week there was a different problem showing up. Now to the point 2 of 5 motion sensors will not connect, none of the 4 cameras will show video or store and play back motion detected video. All sensors started sending alerts anytime they detected an event no matter what mode the system is set to. After several calls and hours on the phone with Ezlo one of their tech wrote scenes to only send alerts in the appropriate mode. About 2 weeks later I was getting NO alerts, the tech had to re-create the scenes. According to the tech their system now has a software problem where it cannot upload video to their cloud service. It seems like every time they try to fix one thing, the fix does not work and they break something else. Almost 5 months having continual conversations with Ezlo and they have no idea when or if they will be able to get the system to work.
