i bought the BDM-030 since it matched the trigger indication that is shown in the picture, but once i started install process i found that i had a BDM-020; which is clearly labeled on the circuit board (also shown in the picture I'm just lazy), but otherwise the plastic pieces were on par with the original controller parts. the tools provided made it easy to take apart the controller and over all its way more affordable than a pro controller. You don't have to be too tech savvy to install this correctly, just be careful. I recommend watching more than just the extreme rate install video, just to help you see how careful you need to be. Once installed, everything worked great, the paddles were comfortable and easy to use. Unfortunately, the controller I installed this on was almost 2 years old and happened to develop stick drift about 3 months after this install. I loved the paddles and have installed them on 2 more controllers for some of my friends. If you are thinking about going with paddles and don't want to do DIY, the Dualsense Edge is amazing. I had received a PS5 controller on launch with a triangle button that did not work at all… shelved it for years until I said screw it and looked into some fun mods while trying to see why that button didn’t work. I ended up buying this kit along with the eXtremeRate clicky button upgrade kit. Both of these combines have made this my go to controller for games that I don’t want missed inputs. PRESS WITH CONFIDENCE 🤣 The back paddles are super easy to remap and use. Installation was actually not too bad for someone that has opened electronics semi frequently. You only need to solder if you want buttons like the touch pad or L3/R3 mapped onto the paddles. (I didn’t even bother!) If I were to be nit picky I would suggest a profile button. Switching between games has be remapping the paddles more often than expected. But it works flawlessly. Be sure to check out their YouTube channel for some super easy to follow install guides. The paddles are comfortable and fit naturally in your hands and doesn’t get in the way of your finger. The only reason why I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars is because when using the paddles, the paddles don’t trigger the action I want it to. For example, I use my back right paddle to jump and during gameplay when I’m trying to jump, it won’t trigger until the 3 or 4 push. But besides that they work. ... show more

Honestly this was my first time modding a controller. I did not solder. So the installation process was long but if you follow along the video nice and slow, this mod was fairly easy to complete. I just bought a soldering kit, so I'm going to practice a little bit first. But im going back to finish this mod 100%. But for those that want to take their gaming to the next level and want to save some money, this is the mod! I will be buying a few more for my friends ... show more

I originally bought this for Apex Legends, but now I can't play anything without it: Elden Ring, Returnal, Sekiro, etc. In every game it makes a *ton* of difference being able to dodge/jump without taking the fingers off the thumbsticks. If you are wondering about the quality, I've used it heavily for more than a year, and it has never failed. I must have pressed these paddles thousands of times. Some users complain about accidentally pressing the buttons, that never happened to me, not even in the first few days of using it. Installation is a bore, not going to lie. Lots of handling short ribbon cables and tiny screws. But I can't see how extremerate could have made it easier, it's just the way the PS5 controller is made. The YouTube installation video is easy to follow, but be prepared to spend 1h+. I went for the solderless installation. ... show more

I decided not to solder the touchpad button, but I did solder in the flex cable to be able to remap L3/R3. The soldering itself is pretty simple and you have some space to work, so if you have a finer tip, you could probably do it no problem. There is a lot of disassembly and fiddly little ribbon cables to pull out and reattach, and something could go wrong at any turn. Make sure you watch the entire installation video before you decide to risk it. This mod is also almost totally reversible, but I hope to never open this controller again...even a future battery change will be complicated by the added ribbon cables and adhesive. That said, the rubberized grips are awesome, and the K1/K2 buttons are well placed, nicely sized, and give good feedback. Programming them on the fly is also really easy to do. I used Astro's Playroom to check all my controller functions after installation, and tested the headphone jack and mic as well...so far, so good. We'll see how long this piece of kit holds up, but as it stand, I am very happy. The install video is very detailed, and very easy to follow. If you are going to make the attempt, be sure to take your time, pause, and rewind as needed. I was confused by the prompts to "skip if you aren't soldering" but you do need everything in the box, save the skinny L3/R3 cable unless you intend to solder that on the board. The included tools were definitely good enough to get the job done and they threw in a bunch of spare screws as well. ... show more
