I'm so glad I ordered this kit! Everything including tools came in the box. The instructions provided little help for assembling or troubleshooting. However you could easily find videos on youtube to assist step by step (strongly recommend). Check for compatibility, follow the directions and be gentle to avoid unnecessary damage (true story). If the lights doesn't work once you reconnect the battery, recheck all connections to make sure they're inserted/connected correctly. Especially the smaller side of the black cable. You may have to flip the cable as it doesn't mention this in the youtube video. A little frustrating at first but we'll worth it. Hope this helps! All in all the visuals are amazing, even in the daylight. Once you master the color scheme you got yourself a good time. The install was tedious but not to difficult for someone that's handy. Once I got the controller done I loved it, quickly became my favorite controller for feel and looks. However the USB charging board failed within 6 months rendering the light kit useless and needing to put the controller back to stock because of the failed product. Long story short, save your money. this is a bit of work to install and a little pricy but it is worth it. one of the issues with this is that if you plug in any of the cords wrong it will not work. this is a tutorial I followed NOT BY ME. just search rgb ps4 and it is the first result by dammit jeff(you do not need the tools he uses just uses the ones in the kit like I did) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So i bought two different versions this one and a cheaper one. This one is by far worth the money. The only con is that the connectors wouldn't fit the connectors in my off brand controller, but buying one of their shells would give the ability to customize a sony brand controllers appearance (so next time I'll do that). It has settings to change the color and can change each different section a different color, can also turn it off, and it turns off with the controller. The cheaper version i bought worked on the off brand controller but had wires to be soldered on (this one had no soldering evolved) and just stayed on all the time changing color to the slightest movement, turns off in 15 seconds also doesn't have the trigger lights that this ine has. So by far this version is the way to go. I'm a 28 year old mom with no knowledge of anything like this and was able to install it with little struggle and totally happy and in love and will be buying more from this seller in the future! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. So I just received this item today. I have to say that the installation part of it was a little bit frustrating, however the video on YouTube was a huge help. So far I've been using this for roughly an hour and so far so good. I like that you can have all the colors on an interval setup. Or if you want you can make each individual section all a different color. IE: The D-pad can be blue and the the other buttons can be green if that's how you want it. I currently have it set up so all buttons change colors. I think that for the price it doesn't get much better than this. Now I did install them in an original Sony controller. So I am not sure if they will work properly in say a 3rd party controller. I'd definitely recommend this product. Everything came nicely package and it also came with extra screws as well. And of course all of the tools needed to dismantle your controller and install the lights are included. If you use the YouTube video to help you, you may notice a few things. 1. The setup in the video shows extra wires attached to the joysticks. The kit I received did not have the extra wire but it still works as described. 2. In the video you will be recommended to use double sided tape on a certain section, I however did not have double sided tape so I used regular scotch tape and it worked without an issue. 👌 Update: So I'm changing this rating from a 5 star to 3 because I've had this item for 3 days before the right analog lights went out. I've taken the controller apart and tried moving wires and to no luck did this solve my issue. The other lights are still working so I guess it is what it is. 😏 ... show more

Very well made product. Not terrible to install but did have some hiccups. The home button kept sticking but just had to grind out imperfections to fix. This was my first time opening a ps4 controller so after troubleshooting disconnecting issues and the home button issues it took about 4 hours to complete. I believe I had DC issues from wiring folding maybe? Just had to reorganize the wires a few times before it finally stayed on. Overall very good product and good DIY. Edit: I'm making this a 4 star due to the fact that the analog sticks started to collapse after about a month or so of use. Look great but not practical for gaming. ... show more

The assembly is pretty intricate. Once it was all together it did work and looked really cool. Over the next couple of months it kept dying fast even through I did not have the lights turned on. The charging stopped working unless I held the cord a certain way. Now, only a few months after purchasing the Micro-USB Charging Port is no longer working and my controller is useless. ... show more

Had this installed in about 15-20 minutes tops... Works great looks good. There was however a problem with the actual ps/home button being too large for the hole but just used a nail file took less then 5 passes on each side now it fits perfectly the only thing this kit needs to add is for the options and share buttons as well as a small piece of double sided tape or add and adhesive backing to the one ribbon port so it stays down to make it plug in easier.
