  • Very nice system!
Installed it today. It was simple and effective. I used 10 foot 3/4" schedule 40 cpvc as per the instructions. I did have to cut down the pvc about 12 inches in order to make the arch lower. It seems sturdy as I pulled pretty hard on the pontoon cover straps. It held up to that and can't wait to see how mother nature will test it. ... show more

  • They work well
Had them for about 5 months and they work very well. I did not like how they install and you cannot remove them easily. The metal pole sticks out and can be in the way of people while sitting on the boat. If they could be removed easily or the pole portion screwed off it would be a great upgrade. It was easy to install for the most part but I had to remove a few seat backs to get under the rail. Also the spacing was an issue. I wish they came in a set of 5 rails (10 units). I have a short pontoon (actually fundeck) and it really needs one more rail. I have seen other reviews with modifications and other great info. I will only add that a venting system is needed. I might also cut small holes on each side of the poles to tie the cover to the PVC pipe... Finally, it is a great product but could be improved a little. They are great for long period storage as well. I just wish we could pull them off easier. I actually cut a floating noodle to cover them while we are out... this provides a little cushion it you happen to bump into one of the poles. ... show more

  • Good for long storage
Brackets are nicely made. Would work great (I think) for long term storage but are not easily removed so it makes having them on the boat for normal summer use/covering impractical. Unless you don't mind a 6 inch metal rod poking you in the back.

  • Nice workmanship
These brackets are really nice and do just what is advertised. If you have a loose fitting cover the piping will need floor brace's like they describe. The one thing I wish I had done was get one that can be taken on and off easily so I could use them with my transport cover. I will be contacting these guys to see what is available. ... show more

  • You're buying the Mounting Brackets, NOT the PVC Pipe supports you buy from Hardware Store.
I knew I was buying just the 8 metal mounting brackets, Had to buy 6 - 10 ft #10 PVC pipe at hardware store. 4 - cut down to 9 ft. for the Arch, and 2 - cut down to 4 - 4.5 ft. poles to support the Arches. Drilled holes in the center of the poles of the arch and the top of the support poles to feed a rope line for extra stablilty from the front to the back of the Pontoon. I have a 2011 - 26 ft. Suntracker Party Barge 24 and this worked like a charm, I made mistake and did not place the rear mounts far enough back of the Pen area and the Cover did collect alot of water on the first Rain, thought I destroyed the cover. But it didn't Rip, a really good cover. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BYLT5DF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 As you can see in attached pic, It held up under 3 inches of snow. And did not flinch, we don't get a lot of snow here and was impressed. The only Con: is the "Bolt/Screw" might want to rethink the design, too easy to loose it. ... show more

  • Definitely not a complete system solution and will damage your rails finish!!!
I had high hopes after seeing this product on amazon, and after my own PVC frame system became too much of a pain to install/remove and store. The basic idea from the covered wagon days is what I was trying to achieve. These brackets help to achieve that, but this product alone is not a complete solution. Aside from buying your own PVC (which is complete understandable), the brackets and edges of the PVC will cut into your cover over time. This requires some kind of padding. Foam insulation tubes for pipe is perfect for installing over the complete arch and extending over the brackets as well to keep in place. My biggest problem with this product and why I give it 1 star vs. 3 is that the metal brackets are made to fit directly onto the rail, which results in metal on metal, or metal on paint contact. Right after I installed these, I noticed my nicely painted rail were all scratched up. The brackets can still move with a gentle breeze even when tightened due to the single point clamping style. This movement causes the metal bracket to chaff and dig into the painted surface. In essence, these metal brackets ruined the paint on my rails. When you take them off, there is clear indication of where they were installed. This is a flawed design. The brackets should be made slightly larger so that a thin rubber pad can be placed between the bracket and the rail. I'm assuming this product comes from a guy in a garage's idea because it definitely needs work. With the above recommendations, this product could be perfect. But now I feel like a guinea pig for trying it, finding the several flaws for them and ending up with a pontoon with damaged rails and potentially ruined cover. ... show more

  • good system
On my boat it was a little difficult to attach the supports to the rails. This was because of the seats being so close to the rails. I did get it attached to an alternate location and once attached the system works well. The cover now sheds water where before it would pool and make a mess. I even towed the boat with cover in place with no problems. Overall I think it is a good system and worth the money. ... show more
