I have a 4 mo old Aussiedoodle (30+ lbs now, 18 when I got her), and I drive a MINI Cooper, so I was concerned about whether I could find something that worked! This car seat was a great find! It fits exactly two of the three back seats in my Cooper, and she has plenty of space to keep growing into it. I’ll update the pictures when she’s closer to full grown— she’s between 25-30 lbs here, and I bought the Large size. The fabric is tough and dirt-repellant, so I usually throw a cozy blanket in there and a Kong or other toy, and she’s pretty comfortable. I’ve noticed no structural issues at all— item is very sturdy and easy to use. I would have chosen a hammock-style car seat, but I really needed something that keeps the car super clean, because I’m selling it soon. This crate really does trap dirt and grass that the dog collects on walks, so my puppy hasn’t made any environmental impact on the vehicle. The fabric is also EASY to spot clean. and she’s been pretty safe and happy riding around with me. If I do decide to get a different style of car seat, this one folds up and stores neatly. Installation was done in seconds, and it works in all the cars I’ve tried it in so far. Four clicks and strap adjustments and done! Couple of drawbacks for use in a MINI: - Biggest thing: The leash seat belt attachment didn’t click in my car, which posed a very serious safety concern, but fortunately I was able to replace it separately. - there aren’t any backseat AC vents, and the sides of the crate block a lot of the cool air from the front, even on full blast. NOT GOOD in Texas. I really wish there was a mesh siding on the walls. - Small and maybe only my own personal problem: The walls are clunky for me and my dog/car. Because of my dog’s size, I can’t really lift into the seat without unzipping the side, and because of the way my car is built/the puppy’s size, it’s somewhat awkward for her to get into the seat, but we manage! ... show more

I love the ease of assembly. At least once you find those little grooves it's supposed to fit in. Installation in my car was super easy. I purchased this for my black lab to ride around in my car. He loves to go places, but it seemed at least once a trip that someone would make me stop fast, and he would fly off the seat. I was always nervous for him. I bought this dog car seat and installed it very easily. The dog has learned to just hop in and he sits in there and can see everything. If I have to stop fast, he still stays in the car seat even if he slides forward himself, but I don't have to really worry about him crashing like he used to. The only downfall to this is that the little handle thing that is supposed to stay in the seat cushions to sturdy it doesn't stay the best. It's hard to get in there. It makes the seat be able to slide around a little bit. I have put the rubbery shelf liner under it with a blanket to protect the seat. It helps a little. I bought a regular backseat cover for my dog initially but she was thrashing around a lot and she would detach her car safety leash. So I purchased this product, hoping that keeping her in a box would keep her in place when the car is in motion. I was a little hesitant to purchase a medium size, thinking it might be too small but so far it’s worked pretty well. I purchased a medium and my dog is about 40 pounds, I think it’s a good size for her but she has learned how to jump out of it when I am parked. We have tried a few seats and this one is by far our favorite. The little guy in the pic loves to jump up on the sides of it and it holds up and bounces back well. It was easy to assemble and install, and it stays in place, even when he is feeling a little rowdy. It is also easy to wipe down when he makes too much of a mess with his drive-thru treats. I got the size medium for my pug and it works great! It is very roomy which makes it great for road-trips. It comes with metal rods that keep it very sturdy. However, it does smell pretty bad out of the box and did not go away until after I washed it a few times and hung it outside to dry.

our sheltie is about 35lbs. this was perfect for her. she was able to move around. we have a 2020 lincoln aviator and this fits perfectly on the back seat. it is easy to take out if you are going to have guest. the zippers are a little difficult. maybe they will get easier with use.

Cons: Wish the walls were more supportive and base more stabilizing. When our dog stands up or sits, he’s imbalanced and takes a while to get settled and lay down. (Yes, he’s used to being in the car so that’s not the issue). I may try padding it with more blankets but that’s not ideal on a rainy day. I’m short, so when I adjust the driver seat, 1/2 of the car seat is a hammock. If I loosen the straps so it stays flat, it’s not secured as it should be. Lose/ lose. Pros: Collar/ tether cord. Don’t have to worry about pop-up visits in the front seat or my son’s car seat while driving. Seamless loadin/out. I like that the walls can zip/unzip. Makes it very easy when loading in. (We keep the inner wall by the center armrest, back, and front walls zipped up; wall against the door is unzipped for load-in and unzipped for out) It’s not terrible. Our eventually settles but overall, this isn’t quite what I was hoping for. Until I find a replacement, it’ll suffice through his puppy stages. ... show more
