  • Easy to inflate… the first time.
I followed the instructions and opened it for an hour. It self inflated pretty decent but one side seemed to be stuck. Left it overnight and it came up a little more. Used the air bag as directed and got it fully inflated. Left inflated a few days before my camping trip, then rolled it up and packed for travel. Set up tent and put inside to let it inflate itself. Came back several hours later to go to bed and it was maybe a quarter way inflated. Spent another 30 minutes pumping the little hand bellows. It is comfortable once inflated. Materials feel really nice and it doesn’t shift around too much like most inflatable mattresses, but just didn’t work the way I expected it to based off the first inflation. Guess I’ll be buying a battery powered pump before my next trip. ... show more

  • Exceptionally comfortable
I bought this for my camper van, as a topper for a mattress that is too firm. It is extremely comfortable! And the size is perfect for my camper. But there is an issue. When you first get the mattress, it is highly compressed and you are advised to open the inflate valve and let it fill for an hour, then use the included pump to inflate fully, and leave it for a day so the foam can decompress. All well and good. The challenge is trying to deflate the mattress. You open the deflate valve and roll it up, using your knee for pressure. You will need to do these several times to deflate fully, or fully enough to get it into the stuff sack. I appreciate that the sack has a longitudinal opening rather than a round one at one end, otherwise it would be impossible to get it back into the sack. But there is no closure; you have to twist it and secure with the shoulder strap. It wasn't obvious and there were no instructions. I'd prefer a zipper. When you get to your campsite you will need to open the inflate valve for about an hour to reinflate, then top off with the pump. The next morning you may want to deflate it to make room in your van, and that is, again, a PIA. If you have to deflate it every morning, then it will soon get tiresome. We simply deflate part-way and roll up and tie off to push it out of the way, but then it is bulky and takes up lots of space. So while I love to sleep on it, I am disappointed with the tedious process of full deflation. One thing I can add is that this would make a dandy 'guest bed' in your home, albeit expensive. ... show more

  • Slight preference for this mattress over the outfitter version.
Color: Green Size: LXW
I purchased both the Megamat outfitter 10LXW and a regular Megamat 10 LXW. I don’t write many reviews, but did for this product because I wanted to answer the questions I felt were poorly answered in my own research. So far, I love the perceived durability and peace of mind of the Outfitter version. The regular version feels softer, more bed-like and the fabric is quieter than the outfitter. We are using them to replace the mattress in our pop up travel trailer and it is going to be a great fit. With the added bonus that we can remove them easily and use them elsewhere. For the record, I am 5’10” and 300 pounds, and the mattress has survived well with myself and my two 7 year old boys, or with myself and the wife crammed on it. I have tried the mattress on a houseboat roof, in front of the TV and on the deck stargazing. By having a separate mat for the wife and myself, we can each adjust to our desired firmness without affecting the other person. I don’t know how they do it, but these do not roll like your typical airbed. I have tried the mattress both firm and soft. Firm requires about 30 pumps with the include pump. The softest I have tried (which seems too limp until you get on) is the fill by opening the valve alone. I was surprised to find that I prefer it on the softer side. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily the mattress can be rolled up to approximately the same tightness as it came from the factory. We watched one video that compared them to a college dorm mattress, that was a poor choice of words and a bad comparison. I would compare these to a regular mattress at home, they are probably as comfortable as a home mattress (including for side or stomach sleeping) or more comfortable due to the adjustability. It is difficult to say which version I prefer, both are excellent, and very comfortable. I suspect the regular version will prove to be adequately durable, so that is probably the version I would buy if there ever were a next time… ... show more

  • Super comfortable self inflating sleeping pad!!!
Color: Green Size: Medium Wide
I love this Exped Megamat 10 MW sleeping pad 💜 It measures about 4 inches high, 26 inches wide and 71 inches long. I have a Sleep Number mattress at home. I have several health issues which make sleeping difficult and often painful. I can not skimp where sleeping comfort is concerned. There is memory foam inside that is condensed when deflated and expands quickly when inflating. This is so much more comfortable and cozy than a plastic air bubble or a foam mat. The combination of the two is what makes it so comfortable. I position the mat so the air valves are at the head so I can easily adjust the firmness based on my pain level that day. The little hand pump is very easy to use and only takes a handful of easy squeezes to top off the mat after it self inflates. When I car camp in my Prius, I use the MegaMat in the front and back seat on the passenger side so I can sleep on an incline. It is incredibly comfortable!!! I can even sleep on my side without any pressure on my shoulders, hips or knees. I am a petite 5' 1" so this placement will obviously not work for taller people. It fits perfectly in the rear passenger side with the 60% split seat laid flat. I do travel with small dogs so I wrap the mattress in a thick comforter to avoid damage from tiny nails. Sleeping in the front area of my Prius gives me easy access to the climate control. I can set the climate control to run off the battery while the car is in ready mode. If the battery gets low the gas engine kicks on for about a minute to recharge the battery. This allows for comfortable temperatures all night long. This and the 50 MPG are the two big reasons I chose a Prius for travel. Since space is a premium in the Prius I enjoy sleeping in the front away from my "stuff" which is primarily in the trunk area. I can't honestly say enough about this sleeping pad. If I can ever find a negative on this product I will be sure to leave an update. ... show more
