This is a light, packable backpack. I appreciated the 2 water bottle holder spots on the sides. The ventilated straps kept it from getting too hot on my arms. It was nice to have a small pocket on the front. Plus, the packing pouch serves as a pocket on the inside, when the backpack is in use. It is durable and comfortable to wear/carry. I am generally suspicious of cheaper products like this, but I did not want to spend the money on the better rated backpacks considering I only use this occasionally. I have to say I’m happy with this purchase. This backpack is comfortable, lightweight, balanced, and a good design. Other reviewers have said it is not waterproof but I don’t intend to be walking in the rain with it so that didn’t matter to me. The clamshell design makes for easy access to contents. it only has one smaller inside pocket but that’s all I need anyway. It is exactly what I needed for less than 20 bucks. The stitching is not that great , but if anything comes loose, it looks like it will be easy to mend. Update: I went for a walk and was caught in light rain for 20 minutes or so. Everything in my pack ended up wet. Not damp - WET! The description says this pack is water resistant but the product does not even qualify as resistant - it was porous. I expected the items in the pack to be damp but not soaked. I'm leaving the rating at 4 stars because I do like the design and packability, and the price is good. But this is the backpack equivalent of 'fast fashion' and I don't expect it to hold up, plus I will make sure to use it only on sunny days. ... show more

100% had to leave a review how awesome this backpack worked for our family in Europe. Each member of our family was allowed to bring a carry on and a backpack for their luggage. But, we needed something for everyday use while we traveled to various sites, not a large carryon backpack. Enter this sweet little bag. It folded up nice and compact into our luggage and was extremely useful for day to day travel. It was very comfortable on my husband’s shoulders and could house a surprising amount of stuff! Sweatshirts, water bottles, snacks, first aid kit, you name it, we packed it in there. We went to several museums and tourist spots and none had a problem with the size of this bag. Also, one museum required (for security purposes) my husband to wear the backpack forward on the front side of his body, but he had no complaints that it was uncomfortable. Bought this bag because I needed a packable day bag and I didn't want to pay $30+ for something that didn't need to be that much. It's super comfortable and can fit a whole lot in it. The side pockets are big and great for water bottles, external batteries or even stuffing in a packable rain jacket. The inside pocket at the top is great for storing small items that you need to grab and don't want to dig for. The large main compartment fit everything we threw at it. The straps are comfortable as well. So many times we went grocery shopping and used it to haul our groceries home and the weight never felt uncomfortable. I cannot brag about this bag enough. My bf brought along a drawstring bag on our trip and it ended up breaking. The only packable backpack we could find was an Osprey Osprey Ultralight Stuff Pack. Compared to the Gonex, it stunk. The water bottle pocket on the Osprey doesn't hold your water bottle at all so it's always falling out when you set it down, not the case with the Gonex. The straps on the Osprey would slip off unless you had them cinched all the way which was annoying at times. Even though the Gonex doesn't packup as small as the Osprey we didn't find it to be an issue at all. So save your money and buy this bag. Trust me. ... show more
