Easy to fly but still fun to control . . Excellent range for a drone this size and the larger size of the RangP made it a must have for beginner drone pilots! Durable entertainment and value make this best 1st time drone !

Update: I've used this drone now 3 times. I have not been able to go beyond 0.3 miles and today while flying it disconnected a 0.3 mile away at 360 feet up. It should have returned home upon disconnect, but it wouldn't move. I had to walk about a good distance towards it before the drone reconnected to the controller and I was able to bring it back. On top of that, nearly all photos I took were glitched with a large horizontal pink blob. I will add one photo to this to show where it took 2 shots from merged them together and stuck a pink line in it. ( I have the recommended SD card to prevent this from happening, and it still happened.) Lastly, the battery life is extremely lacking from the advertisement. After flying for about 20 minutes the low battery comes on, and the controller disconnects and returns home, but when I get it back it still has 3 out of the 4 bars. I will say that it flies very well and maneuvers well, with the exception of above 300 feet. Then yaw, pitch, and roll, all are very slow to react, as well as taking photos. Original unedited post: I waited to purchase during Black Friday sales, and ordered through Amazon mostly due to accumulated points. I was concerned about ordering from Amazon due to several other orders arriving already used and damaged. My EXO drone arrived quickly, in great condition, and already charged. The feel of everything seems of great quality and not cheap plastic. Unfortunately, after inspecting everything I put it away. I have committed to studying for the part 107 test and had my wife hold my new EXO drone "hostage" as motivation to study and pass the exam. I studied and passed the exam and have logged 3 hours of flight time. The drone flies very smoothly. I have been to 400 feet and half a mile in 11 mph winds. The return home was a but slow due to head wind but the x7 Ranger handled very well and the battery life was fantastic. My only downside about purchasing through Amazon was I didn't receive the free Part 107 course nor the 1 year free drone care that was offered on the EXO website. I paid for Pilot Institute and glad I did. I'm very happy with the ordering process and the quality and care of the product. Looking forward to flying again soon. ... show more

I loved the red EXO X7 Ranger Plus. It flew great and was fun. The obstacle avoidance module works well but is a bit difficult to remove for my large hands. The app works well but make sure you have a 5G phone. It does seem to have enough power to fly in somewhat windy conditions. I did lose my video feed at 1500 ft away but the drone still was controllable and did come back in range for the video feed. The pics are good. The video is a bit shaky when rotating but going slow they look reasonable. Now for the downside. First, it takes at least 5-8 hours to charge the batteries. Even with a 30W charger. I could live with that but you need at least 3 batteries since I never got the full 25 min. out of them. More like 15-19. The fact that it is heavier than 249g makes this a paperweight after Sept 16, 2023 unless you add a Remote ID module to it. EXO has NO plan for that as I've talked with their customer service. They are hoping the gov't delays that. Overall, I loved flying it. But since I want to fly past Sept, I don't know if I'd recommend it to anyone. ... show more
