I usually don't write reviews, but the Evogym is really quite good. I've been using it for about 3 months now and have been exceptionally pleased with it for a number of reasons: 1) There is a huge variety of exercises you can do with it and once you get a feel for how to load and unload each exercise, it feels safe and secure. (Use a wide stance with any heavy lifts.) 2) The ability to gradually increase weight for progressive overload is fantastic. I've seen really noticeable results in my arms, legs, back, and chest. And you can really load it up for deadlifts and squats. 3) I had a band break on me, because of a mistake I made. The company replaced them despite me admitting my error and said that they stand by their product no matter what. They even gave me updates on the shipping progress of the replacement. And they sent me 2 instead of 1. 4) I don't use this anywhere but at home, but it's nice and small and I can slide it under the bed in a second. It's easily portable for any sort of driving trip. Not sure I'd put it in a suitcase and on a plane, but you could. I just think all the bands might worry TSA. 5) The overall construction feels solid. The base plate is good. The bar is 3 pieces, but it's rock solid and the padding is holding up well. The handles are plastic, but seem solid. The leg straps are easy to put on and take off. Before purchasing the EVO Gym, I was specifically looking for a variable resistance training system that had a foundation plate that attached to a bar with bands. This product seemed to be of good quality, had good reviews, and was affordable, so I decided to go for it. I'm a fairly new user of the EVO Gym and new to strength training in general, so I made sure to watch all the videos provided and found them helpful. I've taken my training somewhat slow. I didn't want to get overzealous and either hurt myself or get so sore that I couldn't move. However, in the last couple of weeks, I've started to hit my stride and am seeing progress in the number of reps I can do in each session. Configuring the EVO Gym for each different exercise is coming easier as well. At first, it was a little clumsy, but I can definitely see the benefit in the design of the product, and now that I'm used to moving the bands/notches, it's not a big deal. I love the compactness of the design. When I'm done with my workout, I can easily stash all the components away out of sight. I haven't had the opportunity to go out of town since I started using it, but I will definitely take it with me when I do, knowing it won't take up much room. When my EVO Gym first arrived, the bar was defective and would not snap together on one side. I requested a replacement and was pleased to find the process quick and painless. However, when my second bar arrived, it also would not snap together on one side. But using one part from the original bar with the new one, I was able to put together a complete bar. I have used bands for exercise before, but this unit takes it to another level. Exceptionally well constructed and once you work out a few times, it becomes easy to use (unlike with some band products). The range of exercises is almost unlimited as is the range of resistance. It is a quality product, very well made, and an exceptional value, and it is fun to explore different techniques to isolate different muscle groups. No, it's not a Bowflex, but then it costs a fraction of the price, takes up less room, can travel with, and it can replicate most any of the exercises. This is a very high quality resistance band based home gym which is very versatile. I really like the notches in all of the bands and all of the online instructional videos that show you many possible ways of using this system to exercise each body part. What stands out even more is their great customer service. They are clearly interested in customer satistfaction and are extremely friendly and helpful.     • Great product but its more geared for taller people
Style: Elite - 10 Bands (320 Pounds)
The product overall is good but there are a few things you should be aware if you're buying it. The most noticeable thing is if you are particularly short you may not be able to do some exercises effectively because there is too much slack between the shortest notch and the bar. For reference, I am about 5'3" and I was doing 40reps on 200lb of resistance on floor presses with the shortest length because the band just wasn't short enough to give me enough of a challenge (and I wasn't even close to failure). That being said you may just need to utilize the other accessories more rather than the board. Other issues are minor like the small carabiner clips are sometimes a hassle to detach and attach things to because the resistance band strap gets in the way a lot and there isn't a great way to accurately increase resistance gradually by really small increments. The product does its job though and it gives you the tools to adjust your workouts as it suits you so you can find work-arounds for any issues you may run into because of your height. Just know that if you are particularly short you will need to experiment a bit more than average to find what works for you. It's biggest benefit is its pretty compact and even fits in my tiny apartment. ... show more
