  • Best replacement for a real tree
I took a gamble on this tree. It had only a couple of reviews, and they were mostly from folks who got it for free or a reduced price, in return for a review. Now, I know they all say they are unbiased, but research proves that when people (American's especially) get something for free, they want to reciprocate. That's why charities send bookmarks or return address labels or baby trees (Arbor Society) or pens, and other knickknacks with their solicitations for contributions. They know it will be an impetus for most folks to send them at least a few dollars. So when I read reviews from folks who've been given an item for free or reduced price in exchange for a review, I know it is only human nature for those recipients to want to reciprocate with a "good" review. But having said all that, I'm really glad I took a chance on this tree. It deserves every good review. We've been empty nest a while, but for over a decade now since our young legs left home, we continued to trudge through a nearby tree farm every year, hunting in the snow and/or muck for at least a mile or two, looking for the "perfect tree". And then sawing it down and dragging it back (although last year we paid the extra to have the owner of the tree farm come drag the tree out for us.) But we're too old now, and the thought of all that rigamarole was too much this year. So we started hunting for an artificial tree in November. Our last artificial tree was from Montgomery Wards 40 years ago when we were first married, and it was awful. When it died (about 30 years ago) we went to real trees and never looked back. So when I started looking this year, I was expecting to have to "settle" for "good enough". Through gritted teeth. But oh.my.goodness! This tree is great! Pros: *It has three different types of material for the needles, so it has the variegated look of a real tree. *The branches are brown, and look normal, not fake. *It just snapped together, which us old folks just loved. *The multi-various choices for color, color effects, speed of effects, intensity of color, etc., made it festive enough that we didn't even otherwise decorate it at first (lots of other things on the plate at the time too.) *The price was very good compared to competitors in the same height and style. Cons (sort of): *The box is big and heavy. Not that we were surprised. I'm just mentioning it because it's a difficulty. *You have to fluff the branches out for fullness and to cover empty spots. Of course, after reading a gazillion reviews of a half-gazillion other trees, that's apparently normal for artificial trees nowadays. We just fluffed a few branches each time we passed by for the first few days, until it was done. We are both so impressed with this tree, that I had to write one of my rare reviews. We both highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Shopped around - after looking at many, this tree was perfect
This tree fit my needs perfectly. I've had a couple other artificial trees and really loved them but both were very heavy and a pain to set up. The last was a National Tree and a beautiful tree but here are the things this new tree has going for it - first, it's 7.5 ft like the others I've had but the sections weigh much less. I didn't feel like I was struggling to lift any of the tree. Also, and this is so smart, they made the top section larger. This means the sections are closer in size and you don't need to reach up to put the top section on - it attaches much lower on the tree. Another convenience was that there are no plugs for the sections - it's all in the pole when you attach the three sections together. Finally, the lights are amazing - I couldn't find any other tree that had a remote with so many different light options. You can even control the brightness and speed of the light patterns so if you want to slow the speed of an effect you can. Want a specific color or how about just plain warm white? It does all those and there are probably more colors and patterns than you think. If I had any negatives, it isn't as big and real looking as the feel real National brand but I'm not missing the struggle to pick that one up so for me I'm fine with the trade-off. ... show more

  • Needs more effects
The media could not be loaded. Great tree to replace my old, pre-lit one (that only had a few effects). I love the effects that come with this new tree, but the one effect I thought it would have, it doesn't (I was hoping for an effect where the lights fade in/out, but do so with multiple colors...the effect they do have is that you get a fade in/out with all one color, then they all change to the next color, etc - see attached video). There is an effect where each bulb lights up and flashes multiple colors, but it's not with the fade in/out effect. oh, well...wish additional effects could be programmed or downloaded (FW). ... show more

  • Love this tree
Love this easy to assemble tree, sooo many light setting. I can’t say any wrong about it. Well it’s a little pricey but it’s so worth it. I’d recommend this tree for sure.

  • Disappointed
This was an awesome tree... for one year. There were so many fun lighting choices. This year, the lights only respond to every 8th press of the remote, and even then only does 3 different light patterns, no matter what I hit. I was kind of hoping it would last for more than one Christmas. The tree itself is really nice. I want to use the color scroll/dial to choose the perfect color. Now it only allows me to tap a color. I want to change the flashing light patterns. We get fast flashing lights, in silver and gold (blech) and just straight multicolor lights. When I press any button to change, I just get a red light in the middle of the remote. Very disappointed. UPDATE: contacted Polygroup and was told the “warranty didn’t cover lost or misplaced remotes”. They obviously didn’t read my complaint, as I never said I was missing the remote. I even sent a picture. They suggested I look on the internet for a replacement. I had already done that, I haven’t found anything. If anyone out there has any information on just the remote, I would be grateful for the information. I really want all the lights! ... show more
