  • (Updated and resolved) Great but faulty part
UPDATE: There was initially a miscommunication but seller did promptly respond to the faulty part and it is in the mail with a tracking number. Assuming it’s the right part when received, I’m more than satisfied with the customer service, and having the rack on my car now for several weeks, I still think it’s a solid rack. 5 stars for item and seller service. Oh, I should mentioned they actually offered a full refund, i declined as I feel the item far exceeds the price I paid for it. Super satisfied from start to finish. A surprisingly good product for the price. I used previous reviews on installation tips and that made installation even easier. I had it on within 30 minutes. I would rate this a 5/5 but I had a broken piece of the plastic cap that I reached out for assistance with a replacement and have not had any type of response. Very disappointed with having not gotten a response for a minor fix. That said, the plastic caps are tough to install correctly due to the foot sinking a little into the thick rubber pads. I don’t find this an issue and actually appreciate it as now the caps are less likely to fall off. I had to gently persuade them into place with a rubber mallet. Once on, they seem unlikely to come off. To the seller, please let me know how I can get a replacement rear left cap as the one I received with the order has broken tabs and will not affix properly. The other 3 are fine. Will update rating after communication and received part as the 3/5 is just for a faulty part, the rack itself seems really great and super sturdy *further update* replacement parts received in quick timing. Great working with the seller as well as a good product ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money or time
These look like they’re high quality, but the plastic covers do not fit. We tried the suggestions listed in the reviews like not tightening the bolts too tight, nothing worked. It was a waste of time, sent them back for a refund and ordered Toyota originals that went on in 10 minutes with no issues at all! ... show more

  • Pretty good for the price
Ok, install was pretty easy, one of the brackets did not have the mounting hole drilled, no big deal, used a 5/16" bit, problem resolved, factory should have caught it. My bigger beef is the plastic covers which do not stay in place, period! Very poorly put together. Had to use tie wraps to secure the covers in place. Used black tie wraps and it's almost unnoticeable. Other then this it does look nice! ... show more

  • Got wind noise? Don't do what I stupidly did.
Arrived very quickly. As others have said, the instructions are very sparse but readable. Fitted very easily, Longest bar at the front. Dont do what I did.. On the inside of the plastic caps and also on the rubber pads the Sides and direction can be found. the Front Left is marked LHF , likewise the right is marked RHF. I must have had a senior moment as I mounted the front round the wrong way. The result was an annoying wind noise at normal cruising speeds and above. I took off the plastic cap off one side and found my mistake.. D'oh .. Put the bar on the right way (all of 5 mins) and the wind noise went away. The only problem I had was the tabs inside one of the bar end cover were badly moulded and try as I might, it would not latch when on the car. Contacted the seller and they are sending a replacement . Very quick response. Excellent.. ... show more

  • Get what you pay for
Instructions were terrible, but could be figured out with a bit of patience. The plastic brackets snap together and 2 of them went on easily the other 2 were a complete pain. Fiddled with one of them for half an hour. The other one the snaps broke off and I had to hot glue gun them back on. Never got that bracket to close completely and ended up using black electrical tape to make it secure. Can hardly notice the tape since the roof rack is black and so is the car. Knowing what I know now, I would spend more money and get better quality roof rack. ... show more

  • Good value but instructions are poor and fit isn't perfect
The product seems like good value. It has more plastic parts than I would like (especially compared to the OEM rack). The fit wasn't perfect but I got it to work. The instructions were difficult to follow (see attached). Here are my tips for installation: - If you want help getting the plastic caps off the car, you can watch youtube videos of other rack installs. - A bike tire lever worked well to get the plastic covers off of the attachment points on the car. - Step 2 has you install the bolts to hold the rack to the car. The threaded metal part was partially unscrewed from the plastic "hook". Make sure you screw these all the way in. - Before step 4, assemble the crossbars. Plastic rectangles containing nuts get jammed into the crossbars. Then, use the included bolts to attach the end pieces to the crossbars. Don't use the washers here. I used a cordless drill with a hex bit I happened to have to speed this up. - For step 4, take the assembled crossbars and try both in both locations until you get the best fit. My fit was not perfect so this took some finagling. - Step 5 was already done - the washers came assembled. - Use the washers in step 6. They are smaller than the bots which seems weird - Step 7 refers to tightening the bolts. It says 15 Nm (Newton-meters, equivalent to 11 lbf-ft) and refers to how tight the bolts should be. The included wrench was difficult to use. A 13mm socket wrench was much easier to use. - Step 8 shows attaching the yellow cord to the covers so they don't fly away if they come off when you are driving. - Because the fit wasn't great, it took some work to get the covers to snap on. Hopefully they stay on. - At the bottom, the instructions say "never exceed the manufacturer's roof rack load limit (See Page 1). This IS page 1 and it does not specify the load limit. However, the load limit is printed on the plastic end caps as 154 pounds. Online sites suggest that this is the driving load limit and can be exceed while parked (e.g. for a roof-top tent). ... show more
