  • Way Way Better than National Geographic version!
I had to return the National Geographic "World Atlas" it was so juvenile and simplistic and the maps were almost amateurish. Luckily Oxford's Atlas is superior in every imaginable way and has detailed tables and charts on demographics which allow for in depth exploration. This Atlas also has excellent maps with topography shown clearly. ... show more

  • hard to find the page countries are on and hard to read maps
For me, the standard of excellence is the National Geographic Family Reference Atlas of the World, fifth edition. I recommend it in preference to the Oxford Essential World Atlas, eighth edition. I find it very difficult and time-consuming to search through the index in the Oxford atlas to find what pages countries are on. I also find it very difficult to figure out where one country ends and another country begins on maps in the Oxford atlas. I find it baffling to the point of idiotic that the Oxford atlas on the inside front and back covers shows pictures of the flags of 196 countries but does not show what page each respective country's map is on. ... show more

  • Easy to find map areas as wanted
I wanted to see the Ukraine/Russia area to better understand movements there. Maps themselves are excellent; however the country info graphs are unclear as to what the info means.

  • Good but not great.
The comparative data could be formatted better with side by side graphical displays. Some worldwide statistics should contain a total with a pie chart or other visible comparable format. Too many major city maps.

  • Unique World Atlas
I'm a map person, and having a world atlas with this much detail is great. When world events occur, I can look in the atlas and pinpoint the area and view the other places near it. I'm very impressed with the detailed topographical and geological map illustrations.

  • Very good atlas for everybody
I like a various info about countries in the beging of the atlas. Very interesting and informative. I like that maps of the countries are physical and not political.
