This is an honest review from a recent purchase. I bought this little tub to keep my cost down Price with sales tax- $3525, free delivery. Cost to lay down sand, gravel and pavers- $700. Cost of a cover lifter (you Will want one!) $280. Chemicals for water balancing- $40. Ozonator kit- $110. 220v power line- $500 Total cost to get running was $5,155. Not exactly cheap. The shell of the tub is sturdy, but the inadequate user's manual doesn't tell you if the material is acrylic or resin. Cleaning instructions differ for the two materials. I'll have to contact support to find out. This tub converts from 110 volts to 220 volts, so that it stays hotter longer when the full power jets are used. The jets, with air injection are 1/13 horsepower each. This is about half the jet power in my last tub, but it is enough for most people. While testing the tub on 110 volts, the high power jets only run for 15 minutes before the circuit breaker trips. That's another reason for paying to switch to 220 volts. I live in a rental house, so I can take the tub with me when I move. It weighs 350 pounds empty; 2000 pounds full. Since the tub only holds 200 gallons of water, it fills quickly- less than an hour. I filled it with a hot water hose, running directly off the water heater, so it was instantly ready to use. When running on 110 volts, it starts cooling as soon as you turn on the high power jets. I can add hot water with the hose, to heat it up at 1 degree per minute or two. Very efficient heating. When the plastic shell is molded into the tub shape, they put in nice curves on the top edge, so I can massage my neck with the curvature of the tub. The bended curves have a slightly rough texture, which I will hand-sand down, the next time the tub is empty. Too bad they don't do that at the factory. The seats are a bit shallow, so my chest and head are out in the cold air. If you want to massage your upper shoulders or neck with the jet power, you have to dive underwater. I use ear plugs to keep the water out. Be sure to tighten all the pipe connectors (4 unions) with an oil-filter wrench. The connectors are shipped loose from the factory, and it WILL leak internally if the unions are not locked down. Also, check that the drain hose is turned off, or the interior will flood when you fill the tub. I flooded it twice! You can buy an ozonator kit for $110, which I did. It is very helpful in keeping the tub sanitary. Replace the ozonator core every two years. Then I use 27% hydrogen peroxide to clean the water, which works great and keeps the chlorine out of your lungs and body. Chlorine in the water can be absorbed through the skin and affect the microbes in your gut, leading to bad digestion. Customer service and tech support at StrongSpas.com are excellent.     • Took forever to get here but finally got it.

The media could not be loaded. It's only been hooked up for 5 hours and it's still heating up, I opted to convert to 240v before even setting it up and so far its claimed about 25-30 degrees. The cup holders the surround the outer edge are a little strange and tilt inward towards the water way too much time will tell if this is a problem. My only real complaint is the fitment of the access panel that just seems sloppy and the length of time it took for me to get it. Didn't send out until a month later passed the scheduled date and wasn't in my driveway for another month after than for whatever reason. Also, I don't think this is actually pushing 400 lbs dry, as an EMS worker I definitely know what 400 pounds feels like and this feels closer to 250-300. Two able bodied adults can easily move it to the desired location if your shipping company refuses. ... show more

    • I Just Wanted Hot Water - Winner!

I knew I was getting a discount hot tub. At a good bit less than the tubs I was looking at locally, or from Costco etc. this hot tub gets the job done. I plugged it in, and it's been running flawlessly for about 40 days. I get in 3 - 4 times a day. I've been using bromine, but I'm going to look into adding an ozonator. Again, I don't care much about the jets. I just get in and soak. And this tub is smaller than my previous unit. Works well. Seems like it will last a long time. Highly recommended. ... show more

As title, I got this because my only access to my backyard is through my apartment (1st floor garden apartment in NYC). It fit through my standard size doors without taking the doors off the hinges - I just had to remove the packing material and cover. Appears sturdy, and after flushing antifreeze, I didn't have any issues setting it up. On 120, I got it from room temperature garden hose water to 104 overnight with no issues. I will update if I experience any issues, but appears to be an excellent buy so far. ... show more

The filter isn't tall enough. Anything that floats does not get taken in through the filter. Needs a skimming device! Otherwise good tub, a bit shallow but, I went cheap...
