This mascara goes on easy and adds volume. Removes easily with eye makeup remover. Stays on. No need to reapply during the day. The only reason I gave the product a 4 rating is because it does have a tendency to clump.

I read the reviews but thought if I used primer it wouldn't give raccoon eyes. It flakes, smears and clumps but gives length to lashes. I think it might have been old because it was pretty dry. I probably should have returned it but I kept one and gave rest away. I did add a little water and at least I could use it without having huge clumps. I wouldn't recommend as a gift. I might try lash primer and see if it helps??? ... show more

I love Essence products, as cruelty free beauty is very important to me. This was not, IMO, at all volumizing, and I much prefer the Essence Lash Princess "Curl & Volume" for curl and lift. I still find you need to supplement that with a strictly volumizing mascara as a second coat, however.
