I got this espresso machine for my sister and we both love it! if you are looking For the short and sweet, here it is: This is a great value: A high quality, everyday, at home espresso machine for a decent price. Here are some key points that we love about it if you want the details: When I bought it, I was worried it was going to be massive and take up and lot of counter space. Well it isn’t and it doesn’t. It’s a good size(I took a picture with my hand on it to give you a good visual. And I am an average size female) it is very sleek and will look very nice with whatever your kitchen/office/classroom decor or theme is. My sister is taking it to her classroom. Second of all, we were confused when we first tried to use it because we forgot to remove a little red piece on the bottom of the water tank. We called the customer service number from the QR code link and they returned our call within 5 minutes. We were not expecting that at all. They quickly resolved our problem and were extremely nice, patient and helpful. So if you have any questions definitely utilize their help line. It came with lots of functional extra items. The two “high quality porcelain cups” were surprisingly just that. Very cute and classy. I was planning to buy a separate set of espresso cups but if two is enough for you then you don’t even need to buy cups separately. Another cool thing about the cups, is that there is a heating tray on top of the machine that you can use to warm up your cups before you dispense, for a piping hot cup of espresso. It comes with a grinder that works perfectly so you can just buy whole beans and don’t have to worry about grinding them somewhere. The machine also comes with a scoop for the ground espresso. The rest of the functions on this machine are problem free so far. The drip tray is also easy and quick to clean. So if you have stuck with me so far, I can tell you this is a great product. Like anything, you get what you pay for, so while it is a little spendy, I feel like it’s an investment and you will get your money back if you(or friends/family) enjoy espresso, lattes or cappuccinos. ... show more

    • Do not overly tamp down the grinds before brewing. Light pressure to smooth it out. Perfect crema.

My Brevet died after 15 years. I researched all the machines and ordered the Espresso works. It draws a perfect espresso every time. As good if not better than any espresso I’ve had out in Italy and back home. It is ready to make coffee almost instantly. The milk steamer also is ready to use in mere seconds. My old Brevette took what seemed like forever to heat up and steaming milk was time consuming and messy. Not so with the Espresso works. Easy clean up and easy to use. And did I say a perfect draw every time? Amazing for the price. Would I love to have a $5000 machine. Of course but why? I’ve used it every day for a few months and it as good as the day it arrived. Looks great on the counter and takes up little space. Comes with a nice grinder, stainless steel frothing cup, two saucer less espresso cups and a plastic tamping tool with a scoop on the other end. The counter intuitive technique with this machine is very light tamping of the coffee. Water pressure in the machine does the work and produces perfect crema. This is so good that my brother in law bought one too and now never uses his Keurig. He draws a perfect espresso or cappuccino every time too. There is a little dimple in the metal grind holder that locks it in the handle that is easy to miss if you don’t know it is there. Sometimes it can separate and remain on the machine. Not a big deal if it does. After a few draws you will get the feel for it and be brewing away. If you love espresso and cappuccino get this machine. Hot, cold, big or small.     • Got a good replacement for the original one that was leaking

Update: I’ve upgrade my review to 3-4 stars. After few days the seller contacted me, and, upon review of a video of the defective machine I’ve sent they have decided to offer a replacement. It was a bit of a roller coaster because the first replacement was unusable being made for the European market, but, after a new email to them I’ve received a machine that works few days after. I’ve totally appreciated the care for the end user satisfaction that Espresso Works demonstrated. So far the machine works well, including the frother, a little noisy. I would have liked to have an off switch, not just the auto shut off. The coffee grinder grinds unevenly. I gave 4 stars mostly because of the customer care. Original post: Unhappy with this machine and equally with seller's lack of response. I've been using this machine almost daily making just one cup of coffee a day and rigorously following both the use & cleaning instructions. Recently, while I was making my morning cappuccino noticed water on the countertop and saw that the water is coming out with a significant spray through the frothing nozzle.Although I can still make coffee and even froth the milk but I have to ensure that I collect the water I am worried that this malfunction will cause the machine to break down at one point or another . I'm letting aside the inconvenience of ensuring that I fill more often the water tank. I have to say Im disappointed with the fact that Amazon is only providing the seller's phone number and a link to website. I've called twice only to get a recording and the site is not much help. Be aware that the email address that is provided by the seller's recorded message ((info@workswarehouse.com)returns the error message "address not found". Unreliable seller, unreliable product and wasted $200+....Its first time in years of using Amazon when I come across such bad product and service. ... show more
