I am very impressed with this machine. I have been a barista for many years and I like my shots to pour perfect. If they pour too slow they are bitter, too fast and it doesn't capture all the flavor. I got this machine to replace my Delongi and I'm very happy. I grind my coffee espresso fine and tamp it just like I do in the coffee shop and it pours perfect shots. And it also steams very well too. It heats up super fast and and alot of pressure for a small machine. I have had it for over a month now and am still pleased. First ever espresso machine. I got it for its size and the price point, for my first machine. I love how compact it is, because we also have my husband's Keurig on the counter (see pics for size reference). I don't really have any complaints. My drink tastes the same as usual, it's fast, was incredibly easy to set up and learn to use. I don't think that part could have been easier! Never having had an espresso machine, I'm not sure if this is common with them all, but I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because its INCREDIBLY loud, but not for long. Maybe 4 or 5 quick bursts before the espresso begins to pour. ... show more

Just got this as a gift for my husband, I knew nothing about espresso makers and did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and finally settled on this one! At first the filter and handle was super hard to lock into place, hubby had to do it the first few times. It has gotten easier as we have used it more. Noticed it does have plastic beneath the filter (for your info, not a big deal for me). We measured our espresso for 2 cups with the scoop that came with the machine and when we started it, it ran out of the sides of the filter. I am not completely sure what happened, I think the measuring device filled the filter too full, it Is possible we pressed the grounds too hard as well. After that first cup I just used a tablespoon measurer for the espresso powder, and used a separate tamper with lines on it and had no more accidents. Made excellent crema, and was able to easily froth the milk (or half and half) without boiling it! I had only used a cheap Walmart espresso maker before and it is unbelievable the difference between the two. They really don't even compare. Cleaning is a breeze, I do have a little problem with the steam function making a mess when I turn on the steam knob to froth the milk, as it lets out water and high pressure steam before frothing, I dont want that extra water in my pitcher so it ends up just splattering onto a rag and onto my counter. May be a newbie problem, I just haven't figured out how to keep that water mess down yet. I am so happy how I can make better than coffee kiosk espresso AND have the machine clean within minutes! I feel like a fancy barista with this machine! =) ... show more

    • Good inexpensive (pump) espresso machine.
For a ridiculously low $159 this is a surprisingly good (actual pump, not steam) espresso machine. Once you get the grind just right, it pulls a decent shot with good crema. At first try, after pulling a shot, the spent grounds would not tap out of the portafilter. But I tried adjusting the grind a bit more coarse and that seems to have solved that. ... show more

I like the espresso machine, it looks sleek and makes great coffee. Although I do think they sent someone’s return product to me, as you can see in the picture there were milk stains on the milk frother part. But I didn’t want to do an exchange, so just went ahead and cleaned the machine multiple times, hopefully I cleaned it throughly enough. Anyway, I have made quite some cups of espresso for myself and the coffee tastes good. It’s better to let the machine run once with only water before the actually espresso shot just to make sure the water is hot enough, and remember to use FINE grind coffee lol. ... show more

One cup filter didn’t work for me causing a lot of frustration. Merchant promised to send a used one for the part. Seem a bit slow. Hope to get it resolved soon

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my wife. I researched a number of models before settling on this one, in no small part due to the positive reviews. She used it for the first time and we loved the results. As it was our first Expresso maker she found the instructions easy to follow and the first cup was good. Pretty close to what we'd normally get in a coffee shop. If you are looking for a nice machine which also has a small foot print, a milk steamed and is easy to use we'd highly recommend this model. ... show more
