First, the machine- it's super high quality, and affordable for an espresso machine! The setup and use instructions were clear and super detailed, which I really appreciate because I'd never owned an espresso machine before. Makes really good espresso, it's simple and quick to clean out, the steam wand function works perfectly, and mine withstood just about two years of constant use (multiple rounds of use per day, because my family loved it too) before it started having internal failures. It was a great machine, and worth every penny! Which brings me to the customer service. When my machine eventually wore down, I contacted casabrews asking them for advice on how I could try to fix it. The response was prompt, and they made the incredibly generous offer to replace my machine fully with a new one, at no cost to me. I was a little skeptical at first because it sounded too good to be true, but a week and a few more emails later, a brand new espresso machine had landed on my doorstep. It's been running for a couple days now while I made sure everything was in order, and it's perfect!! It's a beautiful espresso machine and it works like a dream. I'm so happy to have another one of these machines, and I am so, so grateful to the casabrews team (thank you Joanne!!) for making that happen. UPDATE 2: I've now had an opportunity to use my new Casabrews machine & it is an outstanding machine. I have a machine that cost 7 times what this Casabrews cost. I do not like bling upon bling & wanted solid construction with a machine that was equally serious about brewing a cup as my expensive machine is. I was not inclined to spend that amount again & decided to try the Casabrews. I LOVE IT! It brews as good a cup if not a better cup than my other machine. It's compact, gorgeous and straightforward. Fits in any decor but much better than it's looks, is it's quality. Below are my comments on Casabrews Customer Service. Once again, 5 star service. Top notch machine with top notch company & customer service. ======================================================== ORIGINAL POST: My original post was Eek! & 1 star b/c of an issue that was NOT Casabrews. Now I have an update. UPDATE 1: The customer service from this company was WOW! I was worried about the integrity of the machine because of the significant hit to it but had not contacted the seller about it yet. The seller reached out to me immediately, however, to address my concerns. RATING FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5 Stars and more Quality company and customer support for sure. I never owned an espresso machine and used to always get lattes at Starbucks or Pete’s. When I saw this mini espresso machine I decided to give it a try to make my lattes at home. And “voila”- I got it. The machine is small but powerful. It was very easy to follow both the setup and espresso/froth making instructions. The espresso comes out strong and with good amount of foam. Same for the frother. I use oatmilk which is low fat but still get a decent amount of froth and my lattes taste great! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that I don’t understand the purpose of the pressure gauge. Its hand never moves no matter how fine the coffee grounds are or how much pressure I apply packing it into the filter. So I never see the pressure going into the Espresso zone. Is it broken? Do I need to be concerned about it? . I could not find any information on this on Amazon or Casabrews site. I saw people mentioning this in some reviews but never saw any response. Would be nice to get some explanation from the manufacturer. ... show more

My wife and I have a bad cappuccino habit. Started while on a visit to Italy. Continued when we returned home. Gets expensive to buy two a day from a coffee bar. This machine came highly recommended. For once the recommendations were on the money. It makes good cappuccino, is modestly priced and after some trial and error makes cappuccino as good as most coffee bars. Instructions that come with the machine are clear and have pictures to make the procedure clear. Just follow the instructions. Bought three essential tools to go with the machine. A good heavy weight, aluminum tamper. The plastic one that comes with the machine is wimpy. Took me about ten tries. First, get the right espresso coffee. Tried some Italian versions. Not so good. Settled on Starbucks espresso, dark roast. Not ground to a powder like some espresso coffee, but works well in this machine. I'm too lazy to grind my own beans. Next, the right milk. Many coffee bars use one percent milk. We found it too watery. Changed to whole milk and that works fine. The amount of frothed milk you add to the espresso affects the strength of the taste. I suggest you don't add all the frothed milk in the pitcher to the top of the espresso cup all at once. Try 3/4 full. Probably too strong. Then keep adding the frothed milk in increments until you find the right amount of frothed milk that satisfies your taste. You don't have to buy this. But you need two cups. Any cup to capture the steam coming from the machine and a 12 ounce cup for the espresso/cappuccino. The 12 ounce cup has to be wide and not high so it will fit under the spouts where the espresso comes out. Tip. Turning the handle while on the machine was hard. A tiny drop of vegetable oil on your finger tip, rubbed on the edge of the cup containing the coffee, before inserting it into the machine, makes the handle turn easily. Doesn't effect the taste. Just use a tiny smear. All in all, this is a great buy. The machine makes 12 ounces of fine cappuccino in the convenience of your own home. I timed the process. Took me 15 minutes total in preparation, making the cappuccino, and cleaning up. A bright spot in our daily routine. ... show more
