    • Best expresso machine!

This is my first experience with an expresso machine so I have been taking my time before writing this review. I love this machine. Initially, I was concerned over other reviews saying that the filter was really tight and hard to get on/off. However, after using this machine for the past 3 months I came to realize that this filter needs to be somewhat tight since this machine is brewing under pressure. And that this is not so tight that this is a real issue. And I confess I have had no use for the steam mechanism, as I don't froth milk for my drinks of choice, so I have nothing to report there. However, the single cup, double cup, and brewing features works perfectly. The machine heats up really fast and is a breeze to clean afterwards. Within 5-6 minutes I can: grind my beans, heat up the machine, brew both a double and single cup of expresso for a triple shot drink, and have the machine/utensils completed cleaned and stowed away. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to make their own cafe quality Expreeso at home! ... show more

    • Takes a minute to break in, but a good beginner machine

I really like the machine! I have had it for 3 months now, and it has been working well. A few notes: The first few times you use it: - the portafilter (which is what you twist on and off when you are pulling a shot) is quite stiff. It loosens up over time, but for the first month-ish I had to hold onto the machine with one hand while I was taking it on and off, or the whole machine would slide. - the very first time I used it, water didn't pull from the bottom of the reservoir, and I thought it was broken. It just wouldn't pull water, and when I took the reservoir off and put it back on, it worked. I imagine it was some sort of pressure issue. Other notes: - don't use too fine of an espresso ground, or it can't pull a shot very well. I thought it was not working well until I realized I had gotten too fine of a ground. - the "warming feature" on the top is dumb. I would not put something up there, for fear it would fall off if the machine moved (which I mentioned it is prone to do as you are twisting the portafilter on and off). - get a metal milk frothing pitcher, it makes a big difference - quite easy to wipe down to clean. - heats up very quickly - doesn't take up much space - I have noticed the price on amazon fluctuates a lot, so I would get it when it is around 100 dollars. Still a good deal for a beginner espresso machine. - some of the features seem kind of confusing, and I haven't tried them. Like the cold brew setting. The only settings I use are single shot, double shot, and steam. I have no idea how to use the other ones lol. ... show more

I have had this machine for almost 6 months now and i love it. i use it almost everyday, definitely worth the money. Easy to use, and clean, make sure to read the care instructions if you've never used one before. The steam wand needs to be cleared/cleaned after each use to prevent clogging. Nice and small too for those who have a small kitchen too, but want a good quality machine and espresso/latte. Only thing i did differently was swap out the plastic tamper for a stainless steel one. ... show more

    • This is a $30 coffee maker

This is a coffee maker disguised as an Espresso machine. It boils the grounds instead of forcing steam through them which makes for very bitter Espresso. The knob placement forces the user to reach across the steaming milk frother to turn off that function. I have returned two $120 machines in a month because they were the same machine in different packaging, but the same design and same boiling issues. This one, too, leaks on the counter, burns the Espresso, and has design flaws. I would like to say that this is a good machine for new users, but the reality is that no one wants burnt Espresso. I am moving back to the $450 Smeg machine because I did get four years of use from it and the final product it produces is the way Espresso should taste. I wrote a review of the Smeg machine a while back that I will add to to reflect this choice. ... show more

The directions are a little tough to understand. I watched all YouTube videos to try and find out how to actually use the machine. None actually showed you how so I ended up making a full video explaining how to use it. Other than horrible directions the machine does make a good cup of espresso. The manual says it will produce a espessso with a temperature of 149-176 degrees. Sadly the temperature it produces is 132F. So don’t expect the espresso to be brewed hot. If you’re ok with that, I feel you’ll be happy with this machine. It’s compact and does what it should, minus being slightly on the colder side. ... show more
