Description

Fytertech Airmatrix heavy weight maintenance universal absorbent laminated pad. This is the sustainable option to meltblown polypropylene as it is made from 85 percent recycled polypropylene and is generally more durable then meltblown. It also features a construction very similar to single sided meltblown. This combines the best features found in a laminated pad, (no lint and durable) while reducing the slip problem associated with double sided laminated sorbents. These features make this pad a great sustainable polypropylene product. Made from 85 percent recycled/sustainable polypropylene the sorbent is made up of two layers that are sonically welded together. Top layer is made of a dark gray, no lint, durable spunbond polypropylene. Core/base layer is made from a combination of high loft meltblown fibers and no lint spunbond. Not as slippery as a fully laminated pad. Base layer is low slip making this a great product for foot traffic. Low linting. Because the top sheet is very durable and the bottom layer, low slip, this product makes a very good sorbent choice if foot traffic is expected, or when durability is needed. A maintenance format means this pad should only be used indoors. Fire retardant as per ASTM 726. Ensure that disposal of these sorbents complies with all local, state and federal regulations. Basis weight: 275 gsm. Absorbency: 24 gallons oil and 20 gallons water. Base fiber: polypropylene.

  • Good working pig mats
Style: Insulation
These pig mats work, they absorb, you can even wring them out and use it again if you have a large spill.

  • These are great!
Style: Insulation
I have only used a few of these so far. They seem to do the job just fine. They are not pigmat.. But they are a close second especially for the cost difference. Soak up oil just fine. UPDATE: 04/06.2018 These are great after running through one box I have them on order regularly. They work well and hold quite a lot of fluid. These are nice for the price and I would put them up against the name brand stuff any time. Keep in mind they do not come in the box like picture but they work very well. ... show more

  • Great Value! Material NOT what you expect but still great
Style: Insulation
They are not the material you would expect. They have fuzz like a wool blanket. I love them for the sheer fact that I am able to use them as towels and such for cushioning separating aluminum parts as well as great oil absorption. Will order again when done with box!

  • Decent
Style: Insulation
These have decent absorption but not as much as I was expecting. They work better than towels and shop rags, but any significant amount of liquid will quickly soak through. They work well for small drops. My motorcycle drips a little oil and gasoline out of a vent tube, and these soak that up fine, but when changing oil or coolant or other fluids on my cars, these soak through pretty fast. If you're working in a space where you can't leave stains on the floor, you'll have to do better than just these. You could probably put these on top of plastic or rubber with some success, though. ... show more

  • Works well with no issues
Style: Insulation
I hate spills of oils and liquids when I am working on vehicles especially those under the hood. I put these pads under the area that I am working to catch the drips and spills. Removing power steering fluid or brake fluid I will put a pad under the reservoir to catch the drips. After I remove a hose or say the thermostat housing I will place a pad under them to catch the small amount of coolant that drips out. Makes a cleaner more professional outcome IMHO. If I have a situation that there are small fasteners I will place a pad under the work area to help catch the fastener when I drop one into the engine bay abyss. Catches the fasteners more often than not. I will put one or two down in strategic locations while doing a brake flush or oil change to keep oil off of the garage floor Incase or more likely when I miss the container and in that capacity the Airmatrix pads work great. Nice size for my use any larger and the pads would be too big and smaller would be less useful for my use. ... show more

  • This product is OK but Pig Mats are much more durable.
Style: Insulation
These pads absorb OK but, I don't like how they shred and come apart. I use them in my automotive shop!! I bought them because they were cheaper than the Pig Mats, but I will not buy them again. Just my 2 cent.

  • Not the best ***Updated***
Style: Insulation
I wanted to like these, especially for the price. The reality is that I can't wait until I use them all so I can get better ones. They don't do a great job of absorbing automotive oils. They tend to leave some residue on the floor after I pick them up. My other issue is that they are made of compacted balls of fiber. These balls tend to fall off and stick to things leaving additional mess to tend with. I don't recommend these. Update: Downgrading from 2 stars to 1. They're a waste of money. I was too lazy to wipe some spilled oil residue off of a bottle so placed it on a stack of two pads. The oil eventually worked it's way down the bottle into the pads, then through the pads. The rest are going in the trash. I'll order the Pig pads. ... show more

  • Quality pads at a good price
Style: Insulation
These arrived earlier then expected and are just what I was looking for. I use them under my chainsaw (which are notorious for leaking oil) in my truck and they catch every drop of oil and don't leave my truck bed oily.
