I read a lot of reviews on this and other models and ultimately settled on the 10x13 with galvanized roof. (I would probably go 10 x 20 if I had to do it again though). My deck size is 12' x 24' from house to outside edge, it fits perfectly inside the railings (6x6 railing). I'm very pleased with the look of it and plan to secure it to my deck using stainless steel screws/bolts. I added lights that I found at Harbor Freight and a ceiling fan from Lowes that hangs from a hook (outdoor section). Then I just wired them into my existing outdoor light so I can control them from inside using a switch. Even though the structure is fairly sturdy, it does wobble a bit if you lean on the post, that likely won't change even when it's bolted down. So far, the temperature under the structure is about 15 degrees cooler than outside of it, but the fan makes all the difference in the world. The sun baking on the top does tend to radiate the heat downward and could make it more of a sauna with the curtains closed. I doubt we will use the curtains, but probably will use the mosquito netting. I ordered this on a Friday and everything was delivered the following Thursday, it was well packaged and I had no damage at all. I actually dropped a smaller roof panel from about 7 feed and it barely curled the corner and was easy to fix. I had no scratches, and there were only 2 small paint chips on the roof panels at a screw hole. The lights & fan I added probably weigh under 55 lbs. combined and the roof seems to be plenty sturdy to hold the additional weight with no issues at all. A couple of tips that I found that worked for me were... 1. Assemble the frame upside down on a flat surface then flip over to begin the roof construction. 2. Leave the roof cross/mid bracing loose (don't tighten screws) until after the roof panels are installed and complete. Two more tips I would suggest if you are assembling this by yourself: 1. Have someone under the structure to help you line up the screws that come through the supports & put on the nuts (hand tighten only). 2. Leave all roof panel screws loose until they are all installed, then tighten them all. I used an allen wrench bit in my cordless screwdriver and a small socket & ratchet to hold the nuts in place when tightening them. Be sure not to over tighten as they will damage/bend/crinkle your roof panels and could strip out the threads on some portions of the structure. I found that the I was not able to insert the plastic V-Shaped roof/screw support on the very center screw on all 4 sides, I was careful not to over tighten those 4 screws so the roof wouldn't be damaged. This is a really nice pergola, very sturdy and just what I was looking for. The netting and curtains are beautiful. It did take 3 of us 3 days off and on to put it together. The instructions are in picture form which helped. Some patience is required but the end product is great!

This was a great purchase! After comparing gazebos at box stores in my area and online, I decided to pursues this Erommy 10x12 metal roof gazebo from Amazon. It was on sale for $679 and I paid $200 for shipping. It was delivered by FedEx in two shipments. One long narrow box that weighed about 112 lbs and another more square, fly box that weighed about 124 lbs. The boxes were labeled 1of 2 and so on. I couldn’t move the boxes to my backyard, so I opened them in my garage, sorted out the parts and then carried them as I needed them for each step to the backyard. Pros first: 1. Great communication with the manufacturer. 2. Product arrived on time and it was packed incredibly well. They even used a wooden frame in the larger box with metal corner brackets to protect the sheets of metal on the roof from bending. 3. All the parts were present and undamaged. 4. The instructions were mostly photos and relatively easy to figure out. 5. All the fasteners were sorted and taped to cardboard sheets which was a pro and a con. Pro from the perspective that they were sorted out, con because they were annoying and sometimes downright difficult to remove from the cardboard and sticky plastic covering. Also they weren’t labeled on the cardboard sheets which would have been very helpful, although it was possible to figure it out, but was a time consuming extra step. I think numbered baggies might have been easier, but riskier also sooo, whatever. 6. With one exception all the holes were present and matched up relatively easily. The weight and quality of the metal was at least what I expected and actually impressed me in weight, sturdiness, color, finish and appearance. 6. The assembled gazebo is beautiful, perfectly sized, study, and an excellent, excellent quality for the price and compared with similar gazebos of double or triple the price. 7. The assembly was mostly straightforward and not difficult with a couple of major exceptions. Cons: Everything was fine right up to the instructions for installing the roof panels. There are these clips that slip onto the slanted edges of the panel pieces that go in the corners, then the angled roof piece with the clips slides into a channel in the frame of the gazebo. You are instructed to first assemble a horizontal rail that the panels will rest in (so they don’t slide out and decapitate passersby. This means that the panels must slide in from the top of the rails. This was extremely difficult to accomplish on the smaller upper roof due to the height of the roof and the reach required to get to the very top and slide down. Also the clips would come off and fall into the channel which would require a restart on that panel. I ended up loosening the lower rail and sliding them in from the bottom on the short sides. This discrepancy between reality and the written instructions took me hours to figure out (at this point I was doing this by myself). I scoured the internet for anyone else who had this problem and could find nothing! Even the company’s own videos showed the roof panels magically sliding into place. I finally made it work on the small top roof, but in the case of the lower roof it was physically impossible to install the panels from the top. We had to devise a way to push the panels into the channel from the side without popping off the clips. We decided to use clear packing tape to tape the clips on. We pushed the corner panels into the channel from the sides and then put the middles in last. They have to overlap, so that is a bit of a learning curve too. Then we screwed the panels in with one of the spacers and screws just to hold it in place till we got the rest in and could put the lower track on. Once we figured that out, things picked up steam again. Also, the instructions show you installing the concrete sleeve anchors in about step 4, well before the frame is even squared up, which is obviously stupid. After we had the whole thing assembled and where we wanted it on our patio, we rented a hammer drill from Menards, bought a 3/8 concrete hammer drill bit for under $7 watched a bunch of YouTube videos and after some trial and error secured the entire gazebo to the cement patio with the sleeve anchors provided. If you don’t anchor this gazebo down, you will be throwing its twisted carcass in your trash after the first windstorm. The entire gazebo weighs less than 250lbs which is a fluffy human and once the roof is on it’s like a giant umbrella. Anchor it down well or you will be sorry. Once anchored it seems very sturdy. We rented the hammer drill for 4 hours and it took about 2 to do the work. The holes in the metal support plates were not big enough, but the hammer drill enlarged them easily. Once assembled this gazebo is exactly what I was hoping it would be. With the mosquito screens zipped it is cool inside and the bugs are outside. We spent the whole weekend hanging out inside reading napping, talking. It is perfect on my patio. ... show more

Currently assembling this kit and so far seems great, the instructions could use a little more written instructions for clarification. I'm glad I didn't fully tighten all the screws as I had to loosen them on all 4 sides to install brackets after adding the curtain hangers. The only other issue I currently have is drilling the mounting holes for the bases, The concrete seems to have some very hard rocks in it, wore 2 bits so far. Also, the concrete surface has a slight slope for drainage on one side so, I had to use a 2x10 cut to match the base and so far is working great. May do an update later....Update: having a pain of a time in installing the roof panels, the little drip brackets keep getting loose and some panels do not line-up even though the frame is square. Finale assy update: I will not purchase another metal kit, never unless it is assembled by someone else. As mentioned prior, the frame is square but I had to trim 2 roof panels on all 4 sides to fit and be able to fasten them securly. It would have been much faster for me to build it out of wood. Also, while installing the roof panels, found over half of them with bent edges from shipping. I still have the netting to install and hope that goes up easy. It's unfortunate that the hot weather has delayed the work on this and a few other projects we have. ... show more
