  • Perfect socket organizer.
Style: 18-Inch Color: Green
I'm a diesel mechanic by trade. I have been on the hunt for a quality socket organizer. The things I look for are secured sockets, easy to remove sockets, compactness, labeling, looks, and price. These hit every single criteria. The twist lock feature is easy to use. I can simply not lock the sockets if I choose to for easy access. Very good fit in my toolbox. The selling feature on these is how much you can customize them. I could easily move the individual bits of each drive size around. Also being able to remove rows is a major plus. All around a great set for a reasonable price. The color is also fantastic to look at. I love the included stickers. This allows me to easily organize socket sets that skip sizes, simply move to the next label. I would like some 3/4 bits for some adapters and random large sockets, but I'm not sure if Ernst sells them. Look no further, just buy these, you won't regret it! ... show more

  • Secured a ton of sockets in a small organized space.
Style: 18-Inch Color: Green
I wish they’d make the trays in one size, like all 3/8” or all 1/4”. I had to order 4 or 5 trays to make 2 trays with enough 3/8” socket holders. You can order the holders separate but they take over a week to come in and are half the price of a whole tray and you get 6-8 more with the tray. So I have a ton of left over 1/2” and 1/4” and 3 leftover trays… for some reason every time I would place an order for the green 18” trays, shipping would ALWAYS get delayed. Idk if it’s just the weather has been very cold or what. Hopefully that doesn’t continue to happen. All of the downsides were pretty much made up for by the convenience of these trays. I was able to remove SEVEN socket rails from my box and put all of those sockets into 1 tray, and 1 extra rail. So 4 rails total. The twist and lock seems solid. They’re kind of stubborn the first time putting a socket in them but they break in pretty quick. Removing and adding the holders is the same. They’re tough to get off and on the first few times but it gets easier the more you slide holders on/off. In general they’re still tough to get off/on the rails so you have to fight with them a little bit. I only broke one out of the 30-40 I added or removed from the rails. The stickers are kinda cheap. Def use clean hands when laying them on because the slightest bit of contamination and they don’t stick at all. All things considered, they’re some of the best socket organizers I’ve had and come across. Snap on wanted $100 for 1 rail so these are great value. A buddy of mine has these in his tool box and they haven’t broken and still lock/unlock correctly after over a year of use. I’ll def be ordering more 👍🏼 ... show more

  • One of the best socket solutions
Style: 13-Inch Color: Red
These Ernst trays are one of the best socket organizing solutions I've found. I didn't end up using different colors for SAE/metric, just because of the exact things I was organizing - but with the labels, that doesn't really matter. There are a number of things that I really like about these specific rails and trays that fit my needs, YMMV... - You can mix and match different drive sizes on any of the rails and you don't have to slide them all off to replace one or two in the middle. You can easily pop them off from anywhere on the rail and pop a different one on. - The release button works great and keeps all of the rails perfectly in place. - Two of the three rail trays, sideways, fit perfectly front to back in my 26" Craftsman top box, giving me six total rails in that drawer. I'm only using the 13" rails, but you could fit the 18s in this drawer with probably 2" to spare. - The twist lock holds plenty tight - regardless if the rails are attached to the tray or if the rail is rolling around in a tool bag. - You can attach clips all the way to each edge and not affect the tray release. I fit ALL of my 1/4" sockets on one rail (23 of them, SAE and metric) and it's completely edge to edge, saving a ton of space. - The labels appear to stick pretty well and it's great that they fold over the edge, since most larger sockets will cover the top part of the label. And being able to move the clips from rail to rail, you don't have to worry about relabeling. Just keep the same socket on the same clip. - Since the labels are stick-on yourself and not pre-printed on the clips, it doesn't matter if your sockets have skips. Just apply the labels you need. They come with a full set of labels for each included rail. A couple things I don't like (but ultimately aren't that big of a deal)... - Since it's a plastic clip on top of a rail sitting inside of a tray, it takes slightly more vertical space than just a different rail or one of the Ernst rails by itself. My deep socket set does not fit in these trays in the drawer I'm using - the same set DID fit vertically in the same drawer with a plastic Craftsman rail. You can see in my photos that there are a couple tall spark plug sockets that DO fit... barely. - The trays leave decent gaps between the rails which is great for larger sockets (like the 34mm 1/2" socket in my photos) but unnecessary with the smaller stuff. Just a trade off for better overall organization. Without the trays, I could probably fit 7-8 rails in the same space - but they would flap around a bit more and not stay in place as well. - The twist lock system is good but can be tricky to get used to and make sure the socket goes on right each time. Overall, very happy - even with the potential loss of a small amount of space. Just made me reorganize my drawers a little. I had some random sets in different drawers that are now on rails in these trays, so it's probably a wash. ... show more

  • Nice stuff, but
Style: 18-Inch Color: Blue
Bought one in red and one in blue to sort sockets. Pretty good stuff really. But, heads up the 18" trays measure in at about 19.75" which makes them just too long to carry in any of the numerous toolboxes I have on hand. Great for a big drawer, not ideal for portable toolbox carry until I find the right one. (A task I don't really want right now.) ... show more
