This is an okay toy for the money and afforded my kids some front yard fun, but it is not very durable. The mitt itself seems decent and the velcro is attached well, but the balls seem cheaply designed and the first one was split in half within an hour of use. Great purchase if you're looking to change things up at the beach or park, but if you're looking for a product that you can use a long amount of time, I'd look elsewhere. ... show more

I remember growing up with a toy like this 30+ years ago. I remember the one I owned had horrible sticking power and balls would always fall off the mit. That's why when my kids played with this, I was pretty surprised at how well the ball attached to the mit. Only time will tell how well it'll perform overtime but I'm satisfied how well it works so far. This is a great, simple game that can grow with your child. My kid is only 4 so they're still learning how to not be afraid of the ball and catch it. The velcro helps reduce the number of drops and builds confidence. We like that the paddle straps are adjustable so everyone can play comfortably. I got these after the resort we stayed at had a set and the kids really enjoyed them. These have a very strong velcro on them, my 3.5 yr old needs help ripping the balls off the paddle. I'm hoping it gets easier to detach the balls as it ages. It's nice that it comes with four balls so that it's not ruined if we lose one. ... show more

My wife and I like playing catch with this. It is so much fun. Even the 3 year old granddaughter love it too. We have so much fun throwing the ball to the mitt and likes the fact that she almost always catches it. Her throw back, now that's a different story. The media could not be loaded. Got this product for kids ages 3 and 6 to work on their catching skills for tball-they suggest this type of toy to help learn to catch with a glove. The size is great for them, and the colors are nice and bright which appeals. They were excited to use them. The balls are sturdy and feel like a tennis ball, they have some bounce. The catching pad is extremely sticky, the younger child can’t pull the ball off of it themselves. The older can-you can kind of see in the video that the grip is strong (it’s great because it catches well, just challenging for smaller kids to separate) I assume with time and more use it’ll get a little less sticky. If you view my third photo you can see the Velcro catch pad is a little “loose.” Im unsure it will hold up over time with how sticky it is and the strength you need to use to pull the ball off. I worry eventually it’ll pull the velcro pad off the plastic catcher. In general I think that this is a good value, my only real complaint and the reason it’s a 4 and not 5 star is 1) I’m not positive that the velcro catch pad will hold up with how sticky it is AND within minutes my kid pulled the adjustable velcro strap out of the back and it took a very long time to get threaded back through-the opening is very small and the velcro strap isn’t pliable. You can re thread it but If you’re getting this for young kids be prepared that they’ll most likely pull the strap out and you’ll be using tweezers to try and rethread it. Overall, this product works as it should and we’re happy with it, I think it’s a good value for the price and it serves our purposes but I’m not positive it’s built to last.
