  • Awesome headset
This is one of the best and most comfortable gaming headsets I’ve ever owned. Build quality is great as well.

  • Comfy but comes with issues.
I swear by Sennheiser and EPOS - I find their larger earcups fantastic for my dumbo sized ears. From owning a few headsets: the pc38x, the GSP670, and the h6pro closed backs - I decided to take the h6pro opens for a spin. They are comfy like the rest. Light clamping force. Light in weight overall. Even distribution over my head. No qualms there. Comparatively, the ear cups are of a fabric type and stiffer versus the softer leatherette of the closed back. I would pick the closed versions earcups over these those these aren't bad. Just a little stiffer if you're used to ones molding to the side of your head and around your ears. Unlike my closed back version of this headset, my open back could not handle volume past 45% on my pc without becoming severely distorted. Oddly, you would think the closed back would be harder to compensate for distortion given its reverberation in the ear cups being closed backs. However, these open backs inherently are about 10%-15% less sensitive - in other words, for the volume to be equal between the closed backs and open backs, the open backs need to be played at about 10 - 15% higher in volume to have equal volume between the two. When trying to match the closed backs - boy did these audibly hurt. The clarity of the earphone was gone, highs were shrieking, and everything got lost in the jumbled mix. On the other hand, I've taken the closed backs all the way to max volume on both my device and the headset (for a fun 5 seconds at most, not consistently) , and it still handled this level of volume better than the open backs. The mix stayed clean on the closed back throughout the volume range tested. Maybe I received a bad copy, but, I did have to return these for this reason - 1 star removal for this. It just got very uncomfortable when trying to compensate for the volume and made the audio experience seem cheaper than the asking price of this item. One other star removed as this headset did not handle bass well whatsoever. I understand that open backs are more airy and don't provide the 'oomph' and emphasis that closed backs do, however; the bass performance on my copy was dismal. I've had cheaper open backs handle bass better than these. If the closed backs are like getting thumped in the chest, these were like getting tickled with a feather duster. Note* - you will pick up to some degree the sound bleeding out of the headphones on the headset mic (to a small degree, moreso than closed backs) and even more if you have a standalone desktop mic like I do. I still do pick up some background noise on the closed backs on my desktop mic, but not to the levels of the open backs. A simply noise reduction or noise gate or noise filter may help alleviate this. It was a great effort by EPOS on the open backs, but, my copy had issues that everyone necessarily hasn't had. Guess there is always a few bad ones. Edit: Must have been a bad copy. I took a chance and got another set and yeah - other than the kinda stiff earcups, this new copy's cans are way better. ... show more

  • Solid option under $200
This is a great buy if your budget for headphones+mic is under $200. It's been a love and hate since I got these. Initially I didn't like the build quality coming from more expensive and quality headphones. But that grew on me because it's so light, the only more comfortable headphone I've worn is the Sony XM5. I really like the volume dial, very easy to access. Sound It's a v shape sound. Fun bass and treble gets up there making hearing footsteps better. Sound stage is great at this price point almost matching my DT 1990 pro. For music listening, the bass can overwhelm the mids. I personally wouldn't do any serious music listening, or movies/tv where there's loud bass music/sfx involve, but is passable for general youtube videos. Microphone Ehh it's good for what is it. Nothing special. Gets the job done. I keep it off as I have access to better mics, interfaces, dacs/amps. ... show more

  • The Best “Gaming Headset” available. Easily Better than Astro and Steelseries.
As far as gaming headsets go. These are incredible. No they aren’t audiophile but I tested them with my 58x and to my ear there is little difference. The hd58x are slightly more clear. I don’t know where the hate comes from with these. Perhaps it’s the closed variant but open are amazing. Sound: Like I said, not hd58x but so close Build: Better than my hd58x, they have a metal band and the plastic is a brushed finish instead of a cheap shiny finish like my 58x Comfort: this is what ultimately made me stick with these over an audiophile headset. The comfort is amazing. Maybe it’s because of my size head but they are amazing and it’s the best selling point for me. Little clamping force out of the box. Sooooo comfortable Aesthetics: this is obviously not as important for some but I want my headset to look good. The design is amazing and was the first thing to attract my attention. Mic quality is actually really good. I don’t need anything that is crazy as I majority play competitive games. Ultimately I chose these over my 58x. I got tired of not having a mic on my actual header. Modmic was not that great as it added even more wires. There is one wire with the H6pro. It literally offers the best balance as far as sound, aesthetics, build, comfort, convenience and all with a detachable mic that adds no clutter. WORTH. IT. All headsets and headphones are overpriced pieces of plastic so like cars you will always over pay. But these just Strike such a good balance vs the rest of the market ... show more

  • Mic is great, sound is good, overall look is okay, material quality is okay
mic is great sound is good look is okay/decent material quality is ok/decent. feels a little plastic-y more so than other plastics. it might be durable but doesnt feel like its durable. overall quite happy with them and dont regret the purchase or wish I had gotten any other. This one is exactly what I was looking for as a on the go, all in one headset for gaming-movies-music. ... show more
