  • These came out in 2016? Wow. They're great.
I didn't check to see when these actually were released. I got them because they were over half off. I'm really enjoying them! They're great for my giant head. I wear them mostly for work to do Zoom or whatever video meetings. I've had uncomfortable headphones before but these are great. Enough cushioning all around, and great noise cancellation. Excellent sound quality. Maybe the newer models blow these out of the water but I wouldn't know any better. For now these are fantastic. ... show more

  • Believe the hype
When it comes to gaming headsets I have had quite a mixed experience with reviewing even some of the most respectable brands such as HyperX and Logitech. So when a non-gaming oriented audio company like Sennheiser to swoop in and take the coveted crown of the best headset in the gaming market, it's quite a sight to see. For those who do not know Sennheiser has made a name for themselves constructing some of the best studio monitor headphones in the world such as the HD800's. However, they did not appear to be the ones to respond to gaming headset's clear issues with such flying colors. The GSP 300s have better sound, control/interface, fit and comfort, and microphone than any other in this price point. Although, Cooler Master's new headsets are on the rise, so do not hold my word to that. In terms of design, these are frankly, in the words of the great Bruce Springsteen, "you ain't-a beauty, but hey, you're alright." These do not look the best, the blue-on-gray aesthetic does not look appealing much at all, so taking this thing out to the subway or campus is not going to look go on anyone. At full extension, there are huge gaps in between your temples and the headband, no matter how good they feel, you will look quite queer. Keep this at home for gaming only. Now onto things that ACTUALLY matter. The build is all plastic, which may turn off some at first since lower-end headsets mostly have aluminum headbands and sliders. However, it feels very strong in the hands, they do not creak not matter how much abuse you give them. They are ultra-flexible and will not break by just a simple throw during a crushing defeat in Apex Legends, no sir, these will get you years before they show any signs of ware. I've had these for over 4 months, and no signs of use on the matte exterior. Fit is a full 10, all thanks to those extremely deep and soft foam on the earcups. They also keep your ears far from the drivers, which is not padded on the inside to perhaps keep the price point below 100$. Not to mention, the unorthodox shape of the earcups actually make it so larger ears like myself are able to fit snuggly and create an amazing seal. The headband padding is very minimal, but not abrasive of rough. It is more breathable than the earcups, however, it just isn't as satisfying as the ears. Speaking of breathability, your ears may experience heat buildup, so make sure to vent them out every so often, but with cold weather, these will be your best friend. Also, the headband expands so much that small and large heads will find their perfect size and be satisfied. One of the real selling points for this is the interface. To those who do not care about things like that, consider how annoying in-line controls are. They drag against your clothing and create unwelcome sounds in your earcups, and do not have precise enough control over your experience. Good thing Sennheiser does it right with an awesome volume weel on the right earcup, with a resistance to make it feel extremely satisfying to scroll. Also, the mic mute is built-in to the arm, so all you have to do is put it up and you're muted once you feel a little tactile click at about 45 degrees. Speaking of the mic, you are getting the benchmark here. Awesome blend of sound isolation for those mechanical keyboard warriors, and also clarity in the voice for those who may want to use this to stream or do voiceovers, the sound will give you impressive responses. The arm is not as flexible as I may want it to be though, only one joint in the middle of the arm is flexible, and only if you really put some effort into bending it. Sound? Do you even need to ask? It's Sennheiser for crying out loud. The drivers offer incredibly rich and lush low-ends, balanced mids for a more neutral signature, which both are helped through the incredible seal that the earcups create around the ear. Although treble will not be it's strong suit unless you crank the wheel a little higher for more power. Also, THAT PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION! I suggest not to wear these if someone is either calling you for dinner, ringing the doorbell, or trying to see if you're alive because you have not answered any calls, because, well, you can't hear that. The seal around the ears is a little TOO good. But, it is quite amazing that I can bring these on a plane and be satisfied. These cans deserve next to all the praise you've probably heard. With their exceptional build, sound quality, comfort/fit, and features, they dwarf any other headset at this price point. Sennheiser does it again, and does it right! ... show more

  • Good value
Great headset my only complaints are that the cable isn't braided and the noise canceling isn't that great

  • Great and comfortable headset but no active noise canceling
I'm very happy with this purchase. It's lasted a good while and still sounds great. After 3 years the ear cushions both fell off which might've been caused by using cleaning wipes, but I bought replacements for pretty cheap. I'm most pleased about the flip-to-mute feature on the microphone. It's so easy to remember when I'm muted and when I'm not just by peripheral vision, no matter what platform or application I'm on. I never have a problem where I'm talking and a couple sentences later realize nobody could hear me. Highly recommend for any sort of calling (though overkill for walking in public). Now I'm just hoping to upgrade to something more wireless and with active noise canceling. ... show more

  • 8 months of use and still happy
I purchased these headphones for a couple of reasons. I am a sennheiser fan, and have found them to provide a quality product, and the other reason is that when I play my PS4, I am going to be using the headphones for a while, and wanted comfortable headphones. I have been pleased with these headphones. My previous pair of headphones that I used for gaming were an "on the ear" pair that I bought for around $20. While they worked fine, my ears hurt after about an hour, and it progressively got worse. These Sennheiser headphones are over the ear, and are extremely comfortable, especially the padding around the ear, which is made to appear leather, but i am almost certain is not. They also have excellent sound quality. I find that Sennheiser headphones allow the user to experience a multitude of sounds individually, instead of having a bunch of sounds blurred together. What I mean by that is that while there are many different sounds happening at or around the same time, you can differentiate between them, instead of certain other more powerful sounds blurring other smaller ones out of notice. In fact, I play my games using the headphones almost exclusively, as I find using the tv speakers doesn't give me the immersive feel, and when playing a game like DayZ, you want to be able to hear the direction the "threat" is coming from. With many different sounds around you, the Sennheiser deliver clear, crisp sound. I really like the the ability to simply flip the mic arm up to mute. The user can tell when the "Mute" is achieved as you will hear a very slight "click" that sounds as though a switch inside the arm has been moved. Sure enough, as soon as you hear the click moving the arm up, your party no longer hears you. Pull it back down and as soon as you hear the "click" your party hears you again. No inline switch to try and find, just the simplicity of moving an arm up. I like that feature a lot more than I thought I would. Also, the volume knob on the right side headphone is very easy to find, and use. Two more things that make me a fan of these headphones. After hours of playing, they are still comfortable on my head, and my ears don't feel uncomfortable at all. Pain free headphones. The padding on the top of the headphones has a split in the middle, which makes them feel steady and more comfortable on your head. No center pressure at the top, the weight is better distributed. The last thing I like most about these headphones, I don't think about wanting to buy a more expensive pair for more features or better sound. I am happy with the construction, as well as the quality of sound. I don't expect that I will need to purchase different headphones for many years to come. ... show more
