Description

Why would I use finger picks? These celluloid thumb and finger picks are great in improving the sound quality and clarity as well as to gain volume as you finger pick your guitar / banjo / ukulele. Here you can find some tips: Adjust the finger picks on the tips of you fingers, with the pad of your finger resting against the playing side. Put the thumb pick on your thumb and use the part that is sticking out to pluck the guitar strings. Twist the finger picks slightly to reach the best position where the pick comes flat against the string. This twisting means that the pick tongue may not be on the same plane as the finger nail. The amount of twist depends on your wrist position, and may vary from one finger to another. Wear the finger picks so that only the pick touches the string, not your finger. If the fingers touch the string, they tend to affect the sound. Adjusting the size and shape for a custom fit: The size and shape of the picks can be adjusted for custom fit for each individual finger with the aid of hot water. Use this procedure at your own risk. Dip the pick (or the part that is to be modified) briefly in hot water with tongs. Avoid too long exposure to hot water, so that the pick does not lose its structure. Take the pick out of the water and make sure not to burn your fingers. Adjust the shape of the pick, and then hold it in the desired shape while dipping it into ice cold water until it hardens into the new shape. This procedure can be used, if the picks are too small or large for your fingers or you want to modify the curve of the tip of the pick. You can mark different picks with a marker if you want to have custom fit for each finger.

  • Comfortable Picks
Size: Large Color: red
I've been trying to learn to use finger picks to amplify the sound. I have some metal picks but they're to difficult to modify and I can't get rid of the scratchy sound they tend to produce. I just received a set of EPIC berry picks and, while they can still use some modification (contouring for my fingers) they're very comfortable and there is no scratchy sound. Due to my inexperience with finger picks I'm not sure how worthwhile this is, but I do think these pick, as opposed to the metal ones, will motivate me to keep trying to learn. The company seems first rate. The picks arrived quickly and in a nice cloth pull string bag as opposed to a plastic bag. ... show more

  • Good but big
Size: Medium Color: red
These finger picks are well made and they produce a nice warm tone when used on my classical guitar, but despite being size Small they are still too big to fit my hands. That is not the manufacturer's fault though, I expected this sort of thing since my hands are exceptionally small and thin (my ring size is 5.5 to 6) and most other things like gloves or rings also fail to fit me even at their smallest available sizes. I may be able to make them fit if I use heat from a hairdryer or something to make them pliable first and then bend them, but they cannot hold shape if bent normally and it'd just be nice to have something that fits out of the box for once. Again, though, I don't blame the seller/manufacturer - I just got dealt a bad hand (ha!) when it comes to the size of my fingers and it's just the cross I must bear. They should work for others who don't have baby doll hands like me, but if you have any doubts don't take the pictures and measurements provided for sizing lightly - definitely measure your fingers and compare before you order! ... show more

  • If You're Debating on a Size....
Size: Large Color: red
Welp, I'm a woman in my 20s. In my eyes, my hands are gigantic. According to these large-size finger picks, my fingers are dainty and small. Great for my ego, not so great for actually playing. If it helps anyone, I've worn a size 7 wedding ring in the past, but my fingers are definitely not slender by any means. If your hands are similar, I'd suggest going with the medium size. These are huge on my fingers and slip right down making it impossible to play as-is. I haven't tried shaping them after warming them up, so I'll try that and see if the shape holds. ... show more
