Description

Why would I use finger picks? These celluloid thumb and finger picks are great in improving the sound quality and clarity as well as to gain volume as you finger pick your guitar / banjo / ukulele. Here you can find some tips: Adjust the finger picks on the tips of you fingers, with the pad of your finger resting against the playing side. Put the thumb pick on your thumb and use the part that is sticking out to pluck the guitar strings. Twist the finger picks slightly to reach the best position where the pick comes flat against the string. This twisting means that the pick tongue may not be on the same plane as the finger nail. The amount of twist depends on your wrist position, and may vary from one finger to another. Wear the finger picks so that only the pick touches the string, not your finger. If the fingers touch the string, they tend to affect the sound. Adjusting the size and shape for a custom fit: The size and shape of the picks can be adjusted for custom fit for each individual finger with the aid of hot water. Use this procedure at your own risk. Dip the pick (or the part that is to be modified) briefly in hot water with tongs. Avoid too long exposure to hot water, so that the pick does not lose its structure. Take the pick out of the water and make sure not to burn your fingers. Adjust the shape of the pick, and then hold it in the desired shape while dipping it into ice cold water until it hardens into the new shape. This procedure can be used, if the picks are too small or large for your fingers or you want to modify the curve of the tip of the pick. You can mark different picks with a marker if you want to have custom fit for each finger.

  • Tight fit, but easy to resize
Size: Large Color: red
The picks are thick and durable. They're a little tight, but I slid the picks onto trimmed dowel pins the size and shape of each finger and thumb. Then placed everything in boiling water to soften. Let the water cool down and check fit.

  • Great picks
Size: Medium Color: red
I ordered mediums, I should have ordered large, the mediums are a little tight for me, but they are still nice looking , great picks, a good value for the money

  • Good but big
Size: Medium Color: red
These finger picks are well made and they produce a nice warm tone when used on my classical guitar, but despite being size Small they are still too big to fit my hands. That is not the manufacturer's fault though, I expected this sort of thing since my hands are exceptionally small and thin (my ring size is 5.5 to 6) and most other things like gloves or rings also fail to fit me even at their smallest available sizes. I may be able to make them fit if I use heat from a hairdryer or something to make them pliable first and then bend them, but they cannot hold shape if bent normally and it'd just be nice to have something that fits out of the box for once. Again, though, I don't blame the seller/manufacturer - I just got dealt a bad hand (ha!) when it comes to the size of my fingers and it's just the cross I must bear. They should work for others who don't have baby doll hands like me, but if you have any doubts don't take the pictures and measurements provided for sizing lightly - definitely measure your fingers and compare before you order! ... show more

Seemed like a lot for celluloid fingerpick set, but I was attracted by the color and they came in a nice felt-type bag with drawstring. Turns out you don't always get what you pay for - the thumbpick broke while trying to put it on, after maybe 10 times used. Get the cheap sets if you're getting celluloid and heat them with heat gun if necessary for looser fit, and don't expect much. I like the good ol' National thumb picks. They are more expensive and celluloid also but I'll bet you loose them before they break. ... show more

  • Excellent
Size: Large Color: red
This picks create the best tone I’ve found in a long time. The tone created is much better than the finger nail picks because there is distance between the pick and the hand, allowing for more unstunted vibration. Whatever polymer they’re made from is great.

  • These were a great choice!
Size: Medium Color: white
Got them for my brother as he has recently picked up the kalimba. He’s very excited to give his fingertips a break! They came in a little pouch and work as expected.

  • Beautiful Finger Picks
Size: Medium Color: white
These are the perfect picks for my guitar playing. While they were a bit "tight", I put each on a fork and held the pick in very hot (not boiling) water for about 20 - 30 seconds. Then, I fit the pick onto my finger or thumb for a bit, ran it under cold water, and it fits well!
