  • Save the Post!!
Number of Items: 4
I just finished doing some fence repair that included replacing a leaning post and the two sections of fence on either side of it and reinforcing a few posts with this product. This product is SO MUCH easier (and cheaper) than replacing a post and fencing! I have just ordered another set of four stakes to reinforce a few more posts on my property, and I look forward to installing them. It sure beats the alternative! My posts are set in concrete, so I screwed a 2x4 block to the base of the posts before installing the metal stakes. This block acts as a spacer to keep the stake away from the concrete, and it stiffens the 4x4 post a bit. I found it important to ensure my posts were plumb before installing these stakes. Once plumb, bracing the fence post made installation much easier, and I used a wood block between the stake and my sledgehammer to avoid damaging the metal stakes. The kit includes lag bolts, a drill bit for pilot holes, and a driver for the lag bolts—very convenient! Once the lag bolts were tight, my fence posts were very, very sturdy. As I mentioned, I have ordered another set of four stakes to do some more fence repair, and I'll take that work any day over a post and fence replacement. Good luck with your fence work! ... show more

  • Easy to install
Number of Items: 2
These work pretty good. The fence at my parent’s house had a few sections that were leaning. I was looking for a solution to fix them, but most of the options I found required pouring concrete into a post hole. I finally came across these and ordered two to try. I was able to install 2 of them by myself in about 15-20 minutes. I used a rubber mallet to drive them into the ground. They seem pretty sturdy, even in the sandy Florida dirt. I like that they include the drill bits you need to pre-drill the holes, and also the drill bit that allows you to screw in the bolts/screws. I liked these so much, and how simple they were to install, that I ordered 4 more so that I can repair another section of my parent’s fence. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Good product, once you get it.....
Number of Items: 2
The braces seem to be good, I haven't installed them yet. The problem was getting them. The first was returned before I got them because the box was destroyed. Then second time I did receive the box, a day late, with the box ripped open again. The points of the spike shifts and tears the shipping box to pieces. ... show more

  • Great for some posts
Number of Items: 4
This is a great solution for fence posts that hardly had any cement around the post. Some builders were very cheap when putting posts into the ground. This works great for those cases. Not good for cases where there is too much cement still around the post. Check first either visually or dig around post first. ... show more

  • Junkie made in China bolt heads break off.

First off, for anyone buying this product, double check to make sure there are no concrete footings just below the surface. At times they may be sunk deeply into the ground, so slide a sharp dowel down through the soil where you plan on driving The anchor in. This is a problem we ran into and so we had to instead put the anchor on the end of the fence line taking away a great deal of the kickstand stability this item was supposed to provide in the first place. We decided some stability would be better than nothing. We then drove the spike down into the ground, keeping it snug to the fence itself. Then we went ahead and drilled holes for the bolts, but as we were driving in the middle, the head broke off before it could even be tightened. Mind you the drill hole was not too snug nor was there too much torque applied to the screw head. It simply just snapped off as you will see in the picture with no way for us to remove it , or make a correction. That we were left with only 2 bolts to stabilize the fence to the metal spike with nothing to be done for the Center bolt. We paid a great deal of money for this metal piece of spike. It is marketed as a heavy duty tool that will do a heavy duty job. We felt it was worth the investment. Had we known the screws would have been, so trashy we would’ve went to the store ahead of time and bought screws that were sufficient for the job. We delayed and using this item so it was too late to return it as we absolutely would’ve due to the shotty screws. There is no way we could be the only people that had this problem with the screws they provide. I would think long and hard before buying this item as I wonder now about the quality of the metal support itself? If you should decide to buy it be sure to buy your own screws so you don’t end up in a predicament we found ourselves in. Because of the lack of quality screws or rather bolts that are obviously essential to making this item work correctly we gave this product a very rare one star. ... show more

  • Strong heavy-duty stakes that do difficult jobs rithe first time
Number of Items: 2
They solved the problem. They are very sturdy and I cannot even rock the fence back and forth, I had my doubts but am now very impressed. I highly recommend. My fence posts were totally water damaged and leaning about two feet after a heavy rain and high wind knocked them over. Here are the choices you have to repair damaged fence posts - Fence posts are set into a poured cement base. Many of the competing stakes are designed to fit between the post and the cement. In my experience of doing this inevitable job for years and years was driving a metal stake with a 2 out of 3 success rate because sometimes there was no gap. So I ended up having to remove the old post, the cement base and install a new post and base. I exposed the posts and saw about 3" of rotten wood. I cleaned up and ended up cutting out the rot back to good wood so I ended up with a gap from 4" to 5". these stake are offset so they clear the outside of the cement base. So I drove them into the ground with a hand sledge on both sides. Be sure to use a level to assure it is perfect vertical! I used a 2x4x8 to hold the leaning side. Because I had a gap I built two three-sided wood frame (I used some old 6" wood shelves I had laying around but any scraps of wood will do). Make sure the top of the frame is higher than the cut on the post. I poured some quick drying cement into the frame, filled with water and let it dry. As I said, I'm impressed they even worked and are beyond my expectations. ... show more
