  • Convenient
I use these for sorting pattern pieces for handbags. When the instructions refer to Piece A, for example, I don't have to hunt or read a label.

  • Stiff Button holds back otherwise decent folder option.
I ordered this accordion file folder for review, with the intention of using it to hold various letters, bills etc. For this review period of 30 days it's been roughed up, and forced to hold a decent amount. On arrival the look and feel of the folder seemed decent in quality, but then I was met with the problem, the button snap on the folder wouldn't open. I was gentle, then firm, then rough... nothing would release it. Just as I felt like I was about to break the folder open permanently, the snap button released! You could see where the button facet had weakened the plastic folder... but it never broke under tremendous force. On snapping shut again, it was still stiff to open, but not quite as hard. Next I started placing the papers, letters and bills into the folder, there was no problem here the folder was able to handle things. 53 pages across 3 tabs, 16 bills from the last year and this year 3 tabs and a few misc documents. Now snapping the button while somewhat crammed was a little tricky, and it was time for the drop test. 3ft on hardwood the accordion part didn't like much, but only little deformations showed, the two standard envelopes got partly out and bent in half. 6ft on hardwood on the other hand did cause dents to the folder and to several pages on the inside. the product mostly passed the drop tests with reasonable results and minor changes to the folder and contents. Not rips, tears or failures after three drops. The Good: + Medium capacity accordion file. + Holds unfolded papers and large envelopes well. + Made from durable materials The Bad: - My folder had a very tight button, that required deforming the folder to open the first time. - This folder can't hold small to medium items, they just fall out. - There isn't much space in each tab. The Ugly: {} The drop test showed that there may be minor bends, folds and crumple zones on the papers filed if you drop this when near full. {} The snap button is hard to reattach when near full. However this is a common issue. no points off. Overall: I wouldn't particularly recommend this accordion file folder, mainly because most of the items I wanted to file in it, either were too small, or didn't fit. This product would work just fine for an office setting. If you are looking to carry papers, resume or other documents and don't care if they have their unprotected corners crumpled or bent if you drop this, you should be fine with this product... as long as you can get past opening it the first time. ... show more

  • Good for organization
My dad had me ordered him this one to organize all his documents

  • For Light Use Only
I ordered this with the intention of storing my invoices for my business. I've used accordion files for years and it definitely helps when it comes to keeping things organized. I have had different accordion files that come in different qualities at different prices so when I ordered this I wasn't sure what I was getting. Its hard to tell from just a picture. When this arrived and I opened it and it was immediately clear to me that this product would not withstand the rigorous environment that I had intended to use it in. The plastic material on the outside of the folder is flimsy. The partitions inside are built to store the standard 8 1/2 x 11 papers. That is standard with most accordion files. There are 13 partitions inside and these are stamped on the edges instead of just glued. That really doesn't make much of a difference. The plastic that the folders are made of is very flimsy. I did try stuffing the folders just to see how they would hold up and they appear to be no different than any other files that I've used. The accordion file also includes sixteen color coded label stickers for identifying different files. The accordion file does not have an elastic band holder like most other files do. Instead there is a snap and it is by far the strongest part of the file. The snap is so tight that I feel like I'm nearly ripping it off the file each time I open it. While it looks better than the files that use elastic I just don't feel confident that the snap will last. I just hold it together with a rubber band and that seems to work just fine. I'll only be using this for a home file so that should do the trick. The best thing that I can say about this accordion file is that it looks sharp. It looks like one of the black polished leather files that you can purchase for a lot more money. The gold snap is a great compliment to the shining black facade and while I could have done without the inspirational blurb in gold at the top right hand corner it does give it a nice classy look about it. The worst thing I can say about it is that I do not feel confident that it can stand up to regular use. I use these things every day in often harsh environments and while the description states that it is waterproof that only means the material the folder is made of. The wells inside the folder are only five inches high so there really is no means of assuring the protection of the documents inside. There is also no binding. The stamped on sides are only attached to the sides of the folder and are completely independent of the spine. This means that it sits over the folder instead of being rooted in it. All it will take is a little rough handling and the files will become separated from the folder. While this is not an issue if you're just keeping it in a file cabinet at home I would not recommend it for work. The price point is commensurate with its overall quality. You'll get what you pay for but little else. This is more ideal for storing things like birth certificates, marriage licenses, death certificates, titles, mortgages, etc... I gave this a rating of three stars because it's really not a bad product. It's just one that is cheaply made. If you are looking for something more durable I would suggest you look elsewhere. If you're looking for simple home storage for organizing and keeping track of your bills then this is not a bad option. Just remember that the snap is a tight one so you may be better off just using a rubber band if you want this product to last a long time. It looks good, is fairly priced, and it is functional albeit for light duty only. If that fits the criteria for what you are looking for then this folder is for you. ... show more

  • Nice looking and on the thin side
This folder has a kind of cool modern "carbon fiber" looking plastic pattern. Overall, the plastic is quite flexible and on the thin side which might be good if you're looking for a lower profile file holder. There's a sheet of colored stickers if you need to mark the tabs, but it's going to be a one time use since the individual tabs don't have a "pocket" to slide something into. Button is on the stiff side, but works fine. ... show more

  • Great for organization
I had a folder I kept some important files in, but as time went on, it kept filling up with many different things and it was hard to keep things organized. So I got this accordion folder so I could have separate tabs for stuff (school, health, personal, receipts & coupons, etc etc) and it's been such a game changer and a life saver because I no longer have to sift through so many papers to find one particular thing. It's pretty sturdy and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a little more organization in their life! The folder material is quite durable while also being pretty flexible. I've accidentally spilled something on it (while it was closed) and could easily wipe it off the cover. ... show more
