Getting protein is hard, and as we age AARP and doctors say we need even more protein. UT Southwestern Emergency Room Hospital's Dietician said my 160 pound, 80-year-old mom needs 68g of protein daily when bedridden and AARP recommends as much as 90g of protein a day when she is able to get around. Ensure MAX Protein drinks have been a savior with just 150 calories, 25 vitamins & minerals and 30g of protein! Trying to get 90g of protein a day into a person who eats like a bird is nearly impossible without this product!! To determine which flavor(s) she/I liked, we bought different 4 packs and did taste tests. Once we worked out that the best flavor to us unrefrigerated was strawberry, I began ordering them with auto-ship through Amazon for the convenience of arriving on my doorstep without having to track quantities. This also saved me from the headache of the local retail stores all having empty shelves of the good flavors! We have found over time that serving them chilled does improve the flavor. I prefer strawberry flavor if room temperature or refrigerated, while she wants some variety, so I've expanded to offer refrigerated strawberry, milk chocolate and French vanilla. Refrigerated she prefers milk chocolate and unrefrigerated she prefers strawberry. However, she does not want to drink the same flavor every day, so I keep a 'Neapolitan' of flavors in our fridge door for her: creamy strawberry, French vanilla and milk chocolate. Not getting enough protein does have health consequences. I kept trying to tell her eating like she was and only drinking one Ensure MAX Protein a day was not enough protein. She needed/needs 2 a day. Despite 2x weekly physical therapy for 2 hours, she kept getting weaker. Finally, her physical therapist asked if she was getting enough protein because she kept getting weaker. Please learn from our mistake and be sure to get enough protein. It is extra hard to have to make up for the loss of muscle that happens from trying to build strength but not having the proper fuel in your body. I feel very badly for my mom, and 'I told you so' is not satisfying as now I watch her struggle with extra weakness. THIS IS A LIFE CHANGER PRODUCT!! Also love that it is only 150 calories, so it isn't packing on the pounds at the same time as providing protein. HIGHLY RECOMMEND CREAMY STRAWBERRY ENSURE MAX PROTEIN!! EDIT-- since buying this product the last time. I reached out to Abbott. They were very helpful in correcting issue and dealing with the expired sent to me by 3rd party. have been buying this project since February/ 2024 from Amazon because it was cheaper than buying in store. I have to have one ever day per doctor order so I get the bigger box. Yesterday got shipment, put in fridge for this morning. I take first drink. It is so think I almost vomit. Never have I had one so thick. I can't drink this this thick. Almost like it is bad. So I look at the expiration date. Not expired yet but close. Today being july 28, expire date Aug 1 2024. How am I going to drink 12 within 4 days? I am not happy with my shipment this time. Something is wrong with this drink, and why would I get shipped one so close to expiration date? ... show more

I am a weight trainer and was advised by my nutritionist to consume about 90g of protein/day, so when I saw this product advertised on TV, I decided to try it. Each bottle has 30g of protein which is excellent, 8g of carbohydrates, and 4g of fibre which means only 4g of carbs consumed after the fibre deduction. It's absolutely delicious but one has to like coffee which I do or just add almond milk or your preferred milk and blend with ice. Also, it has only 150 calories/bottle and 1g of sugar with only 1% fat. Delicious, healthy, and great for your muscles, bones, and brain. ... show more

On time delivery. I have come to the conclusion that strawberry is not my favorite version of protein items other than strawberries in the fruit form. Otherwise this is more than likely a GREAT product for those loving strawberry flavor.

…..And it tastes like melted vanilla ice cream. It fills you up. It s really very good. I do feel a change. After about a week drinking one a day I do feel more energy and more revitalized despite still struggling with not enough sleep. I ve cut down to about 1 every other day because we do have a lot of family outings that involves food and I watch my caloric intake. The calories here are at about 150 which is low but I ll still skip it when feasting with the kin. LOL I am glad I found this. ... show more

I use this beverage as creamer for my coffee and to spruce up my glasses of milk. The upside is that this packs a lot of protein - 30 g - and less sodium - 150 mg - than its competitors, along with a wide variety of nutrients that aren't in my multivitamin. It's also low in calories. The downside is the cost, which is why I stretch one of these over more than one day, though if one is patient one can find sales and coupons to lower the price as well as, on Amazon, Subscribe and Save. I like this French Vanilla flavor, and I recently tried the Mocha, which is a second choice for something different (it tastes more chocolate than mocha to me), though keep in mind that the latter has caffeine in it...I substitute it when I get up earlier than I usually do and need some extra pep. ... show more

I love this protein and vitamin packed drink that is only 150 calories. It tastes so good. I blend it with some chipped ice and make a smoothie sometimes but it is also just great right out of the container.

I got this in chocolate and chocolate with caffeine. There are different flavors in which I wish they would have caffeine. They are expensive, but you get them delivered to you. And they are like a milkshake and are easy to open.. Robins Nest
