I am in the process of renovating my apartment and moving into my new home. This old duplex is getting a huge update to last another 50 years as a respectable place to live. All 6 rooms are getting fixed and the lighting needed to be modern as well. I have used some puck lights like this before, but saw lots of good reviews on this item. They were easy to wire in and cut out for installing. I only used 7 of them and have plenty for spares. What's really nice is that these can be easily replaced in the future if they should go bad. The results are impressive. The kitchen used to have just one large fluorescent light in the center of the room and one of the old direct-wire puck lights above the sink. Each light is equal to about 110 Watt light bulb. Image 1: We have a game/home theater room roughly 18' x 14', where I mapped it out using Microsoft Visio. In the image, I've included the link I used to help calculate the lighting, given my room size. Images 2-7: The original room only had a ceiling fan with 4x 30W lights, which made it difficult to read or play games. Images 8 & 9: We wanted a bright room when playing games, reading, working out, etc. Therefore, we were hoping that six lights would be enough, but just in case we needed eight, we bought the 12-pack. Also, we weren't sure what color we wanted, so we bought the 3CCT. The 2700K through 3500K just looked brown and dull, and the 4000K had a nice white and bright look. Ultimately, we decided to keep the 5000K, as we bought a dimmer (not yet installed). Pros: 1) If you have wired something before, installing it was simple enough. We use a 6.1" BI-Metal Wood Hole Saw (see below for more info). 2) We love how bright our room is now - it is a joy to use. I've been so impressed with Ensenior Lights (and the cost) that I am considering installing their Shop lights in my "wood-working" garage. Cons: The projector screen gets washed out when the lights are on. However, we expect the dimmer will help with this, including making the room cozy for our date nights. ;) Do different: If we were going to do it again, we would have just gotten the 5000K version and saved ourselves a few bucks. We like having extra on hand because it will be easier to replace when one dies. Also, I might put one in our master bedroom reading corner - since that light is just a simple 60w bulb. Notes: I am not affiliated with anyone, but here is what we used if you are interested. 1) I bought the LC LICTOP 6.1" BI-Metal Wood Hole Saw (link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LGKR22L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1). However, my 2 Dewalt cordless power drills couldn't do the job. So, I had to use my 30-year-old corded 1/2" power drill, which did the job just fine. I'm glad I've never thrown it out. Also, expect a LOT of dust!! After drilling the first hole, we covered our speakers, electronics, and couch. 2) My wife and I love our home theater screen! Original Review: Added 4 lights to a kitchen with a supposedly compatible dimmer switch but 3 of the 4 lights began to flicker after just a few months. I removed the dimmer switch and replaced it with a standard single pole switch but 3 of the 4 lights ultimately failed barely a year later. Troubleshot the issue and the problem is in the circuit card within the box. Not impressed! UPDATE: March 2, 2023: The company reached out to me and completely rectified my issue. I had originally installed 12 of these lights in multiple rooms and the only problem to date was with 3 of 4 kitchen lights that were on a compatible dimmer switch. I replaced the light boxes and used the same original lights with no further issue in the kitchen. The other 9 of 12 lights work great and have had no issues. The cause of the light failure was the supposedly compatible dimmer switch. I did not trouble shoot the cards as I replaced the 3 boxes. The company resolved my issues and I can say it stands behind this product so I am completely satisfied and upgrading my review. In fact, I was so satisfied that I even ordered a second box of 12 lights for additional future projects. Updated the review to 5 stars based upon the customer service and because the other 9 of 12 lights continue to fully function with no issues. Just beware that a dimmer switch could potentially cause issues with these lights. These lights are extremely bright at 5k so in the future I will just cut down on the number of lights installed rather than use a dimmer switch. ... show more
