Works great, very easy to mount and wire, I'm operating a 20W LED light fixture with it Below are remarks about some previous reviews. "I found out after buying this item that you can reconfigure the 1/2" nipple to come off of the top of the device rather than the side." You can also remove the back box and mount it directly to the surface with 2 screws which I did. "Installed this sensor today, and I am disappointed! The light sensitivity adjustment does not work well, and the range is very short." Yours sounds like it is defective. Mine works great under approximately the same circumstances. I would have Amazon replace it. "The other misled is the time delay feature. The 15 second setting is only for testing. You can leave at this interval, but the next level would be 5 min to 30 min at 5 min increment. There is no setting between 15 second and 5 min." True, just 15 sec or , 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 minutes. But as long as you are moving in the area it stays on and when you stop moving it goes off at the delay that you have set it for. Right now I have left mine set at 15 seconds and while working in the area it stays on which is all that is required. If this doesn't end up meeting my requirements I will change it to 5 minutes or more. ... show more

Excellent product works great at 8'-10' comes with options for high up to 50' lens and low 10' or less. (didn't use high bay lens) Easy to install in open 1/2" electrical knockout. SB Ceiling mounted but would also work vertical just not as effective. They comes with all mounting hdw. Can easily set to various ambient light sensitivity and range as well as time on settings from 5 to 30 minutes at 5 minute intervals. Most important for me was being able to wire several to same lights to expand coverage. It wasn't clear in Amazon Description but it worked great for our big shop. with 2 in an area 50'X30' there is no dead spots. More could be added to cover areas around corners or if there are obstructions like high shelving. Also like the fact that they cant be tripped through thermal glass windows separating different areas. May also work in single pane windows however, I can not attest to that. Only issue I ran into was mounting directly to single bulb ceramic light fixture (Mounted to 1-1/2" oct metal box) the device interfered with mounting fixture I justed extended form mounting box a few inches. ... show more

    • Works for my needs, some defective, a lot of false positives
purchased 3 dozen for my warehouse project. Of all the 3 dozen or so purchased, 1 was defective, resulting in extra labor $$ to replace. We tried leaving the lights in the "on" position 24/7, but this doesn't seem to work well. Our surveillance cams keep picking up the lights turning on, and off, and on and off.. basically random lights in the warehouse turning on and off. We're not sure if this is a bug or what crawling or flying around but the sensitivity is a bit high. Not sure if the issues we encounter is due to price point or what but so far its barely up to the level of "commercial" use. If more than a few of them break over the time these are in use, it might be worth investing more to buy a higher quality product. ... show more

    • Worked great for 1.5 years
This sensor worked amazingly well for 1.5 years. About a month ago, it wouldn't turn on the light (it did if you unplugged it and plugged it back in). Now, it doesn't turn on the light at all. The green light blinks, so I know it senses motion, but no light. Not very 'commercial' quality. Now I need to replace with something that won't die in 1.5 years. 9/18/18 - Updated to 3 stars. The solar sensor doesn't function anymore, but when the setting is set to turn on in any light, the sensor does work properly and turns on the lights. ... show more

Give it up 2 second response time before it turns on. Otherwise, it works perfectly and discretely in my front/back entrance and in my garage without adding anymore lights; it mediates between your existing ceiling light and it's electric wires. Mounted this in the center of my garage (3 car width), about 9.5' rafter height. The coverage is a little better than I expected. I removed the base and installed directly onto a round j-box. The unit's construction is all-plastic, but feels very well made. It has been operating for about a month with no issues. I currently have it on the default 15sec demo mode and any-light operation as this fits my needs at this point. I imagine when the temperature warms up, the detection sensitivity will falter since the ambient air will be close to body temperature...time will tell. ... show more

    • Works great! Just what I needed.
I put this up in a garage, about 8 ft ceiling. I had a motion detector there previously, but wanted the light to come on during the day. Originally I had two high watt (Hot) reflector bulbs which cause the sensor to stay on all the time. Once I replaced the bulbs with cooler LED bulbs, it worked flawlessly! I waited a few months after installation to write my review just to be sure it lives up to its claim. I installed this sensor in a large garage. It powers 16 four-foot tube lights. The sensing range and cycle time is easy to adjust and works perfectly. It's great to a step into a dark garage and have the lights come on without having to drop all my tools to hit a switch. My sensor is installed about twenty feet from where I enter and it never fails to react. The installation was easy too ... show more
