  • No drone is beginner proof, but this one is close... buy a Sim!
The biggest issue with drones and FPV racing specifically is the amount of crummy product flooding the market. I've bought a lot of drone kits... and a lot of FPV drone kits. They all sucked. They sucked so bad I vowed to never spend another dollar on the hobby. Either you have to go all in at around $1000+ for the good stuff, or light hundred dollar bills on fire with the cheap garbage. Enter Emax. Enter TinyHawk 2. You're saying there's a kit that comes with a decent controller, a sturdy looking drone, and an actual FPV headset? And it's under $200? And reviewers across the internet agree it is the real deal? Fine, I will try drones one more time. It was the biggest mistake of my life... because NOW I'M HOOKED. I broke the first one that came with this kit and had to buy another because I'm hooked! (incidentally you might want to buy a simulator like DRL Simulator and do your learner crashes digitally) I upgraded to a real controller, bought more batteries, a better charger to charge them all, and soon I will get one of them newfangled expensive Fat Shark goggles! I can't stop spending money now because flying drones is actually fun! My bank account is empty, my house is cluttered with makeshift racing gates, and my wife left me. It's all thanks to Emax and the TinyHawk 2!! TL;DR If you buy this kit and a $10 drone simulator to practice on while you wait for it to come, you will be addicted to FPV drone racing. ... show more

  • Fun and fast brushless whoop
I been really enjoying this emax tinyhawk 2, it’s fun and durable. The only thing is the controller is not the best, but it works. Later on I can upgrade, for now it gets the job done.

  • Wanted to like this drone BUT!!!
Bought this for my 15yo son. Got everything set up and went into the yard and test it out. First lift off was great. Ran through the first battery. On the second battery he flew around and decided to land the drone and when he tried to take off again the drone wouldn’t move. I reset everything and bind the quad and radio together. Still nothing. Hooked the drone up to beta flight and it will not connect. Started a refund process. Shipped the drone back to the seller thru ups on 1/4/24, the next day I checked tracking and it said the package was in another state going towards its destination which was great. So I forgot about it. On 1/11/24 I checked Amazon to see if my refund been issued and it wasn’t. Checked ups tracking and it said. There is no information on that tracking number. And it said the same thing on 1/12. On 1/17 at 7:30am I decided to contact Amazon customer service and after 2 minutes the lady issued me the full refund. oddly couple hours later I get a email saying my package has been excepted. I then checked the ups tracking and it still said no info. Seems like they tried to pull a quick one on me to rip me off. I’d stay away from this company ... show more

  • Drone shines forth, but other items are a bit sub-par
The drone is AWESOME!! However, the other items are a bit sub-par. The drone is a great trainer! You can bash this thing all over and it'll keep going. Though I returned it (explained below), I did end up buying the drone again by itself. The controller did have issues. Doing some research, it appears it is common. The throttle is very jittery as confirmed in BetaFlight. This makes basic things like hovering (already hard) even more difficult. The other controls were smooth. As others have also reported, the controller is a bit toy-ish. If the throttle was not jittery, I could have stuck with it, though, for the price. The goggles were a bit clumsy and I could not focus on the screen well even with the adjustments set all the way. All that said, it all worked out of the box with the exception of the jitters. ... show more

  • Good entry level into FPV, comes with everything you need!
Preface: first FPV drone, but I've flown a few of the cheap $20 Walmart micro quads before. Here's my thoughts after about a month of ownership and probably used 40+ packs inside and outdoors... first I'll get the bad stuff out of the way: Durability: Tinyhawk 2: I've crashed a bunch, but it still works. Two of the LED strips have broken and are missing. One of the antennas has broken, limiting the range, but I can still fly up to 100 or so unobstructed feet away. Lost one of the hex screws that secures the camera, but it came with a spare. My fault for not checking all the screws during a "pre-flight". Goggles: The fan makes a loud noise now, but still works fine. Goggles made me realize I need glasses because even at the best setting for me, text is a little blurry. In BetaFlight I changed/uploaded the font called Clarity and helped a lot. Highly recommend customizing your OSD in BetaFlight. Transmitter: Within the first week the throttle control on the transmitter became VERY jumpy, I recorded this in BetaFlight as well, so I don't think it's the TinyHawk 2, plus all other controls are very smooth (yaw, pitch, roll). This affects my ability to do some precision flying, especially indoors, but outdoors there is more room so I go "flat out" a lot so I don't notice it as much. I just ordered a Radiomaster TX16S since EMAX isn't being very quick to respond (see below). Customer Support: Pretty much non-existent thus far. I opened a case with EMAX about my throttle issue two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I updated my ticket once the antenna broke 7 days ago. Other than those issues, I am still having a blast with this thing. Buy extra props right away, especially if you plan on flying outdoors. I bought the 20 pack of AVAN props off Amazon. Sometimes when you crash, they don't just fall off... they fly away and I have found them 20+ ft away from where my drone crashed, but more often than not, I don't find them. Buy extra batteries and a charger. I bought an additional 6 -port 1S charger and seven more 1S batteries and an additional 2S battery and it's still not enough with 2-3 minutes of flight time and about an hour to charge a battery. I would say, start out in angle mode just to get a feel for throttle response and how the craft moves, but once you figure out what direction does what, then switch to Acro mode and never go back. You will crash. You will get frustrated, but after many packs you will be able to fly around with it just fine and it's SO MUCH MORE FUN. If you're techy and nerdy like me, have fun with it in BetaFlight; upgrade your firmware; learn what all the different things do; customize your OSD; adjust your rates to your liking; and buy a sim to practice! Drone Racing League or Velocidrone are good ones along with a few others. ... show more
