I installed this to keep out the mud wasps, they were always building nest inside my garage. The adhesive backing makes it easy for one person to install. Cut the upper corners to 45degrees to make a tight seal. In hindsight, I would 1st cut both vertical strip upper ends to 45s, then install the cross piece with straight ends and then use a marker to mark the 45 degree cut on the horizontal ends using the vertical end 45s. At first I cut all corners to 45s, screwed in verticals, then attached horizontal piece only to find it did not make a tight seal with vertical 45s, fortunately this material can stretch a little, so stretched each vertical end and trimmed off 3/16" and then 45s matched for a tight seal. Did have to increase motor downward force to get door to close all the way, since seal does drag on the door. Lubricated with silicone spray to help door slide on it. ... show more

    • Soft, Flexible, Not the easiest to install, but works.

Let's start with no directions in the box. Not all of us are handy (left or right). And, there wasn't a previous seal to remove and mimic. So, find yourself a video or do some pondering and sketches. I pondered. This is a totally flexible, no hard side seal. I think it would be easier to install with two people, but one can do it. I started with my door closed so I could see where the seal would seat, then marked the trim (not door) with pencil, where the back edge of the trim was. I put down the trim and measured that space, then marked it in multiple places down the trim so I would have a straight edge when completed. Now with one person, I placed the seal at my mark, pulled a little of the backing off the adhesive back, pressed it into place and screwed it down. Then, I went to the bottom of the trim and stretched the seal tightly, placed it against my pencil mark and screwed it down. Now step back and look to see if it is straight and seals properly. If so and starting at the top, slowly pull the adhesive backing downward and gently press seal against trim. You should now have a straight, adhered, seal. Get to screwing all those other screws before the adhesive fails!!! Repeat for the other two sides. Down and dirty. It seals, which is what I needed to keep the outside air from becoming inside air. I like the color caps for the screws; otherwise, I would have dabbed white paint on them. Concerns are that in the summer, this will get hot and flex, becoming a wave against my trim. Might need to add more screws. Time will tell. All the best. ... show more

    • What perfect time to have this during rain season here

This really helps to keep rain, dirt and cold air out of those pesky garage door crevices. A very simple design. clean and wipe down the surrounding area where this will be making contact. Measure 3x before making the final cut. With the garage door closed. Make sure you used the built in adhesion to help as a guide and i would also use those screws every feet to keep this secure from the top to the bottom. Now the whole garage door has a new lease on life!!!! Looks better too IMHO. You do lose just a tiny bit of width on the garage door but that is OK. Even if you are driving an H1 or HUMVEE. Protect your autos and garage from all the outside elements. Good value and quality. Take your time to do the install and make sure it is not crooked on wonky. At 40’ long, “Elvone Garage Door Seal” is not quite long enough for our tall and wide garage door. It would fit our single car garage door, but I did not want to apply the seal to only one garage door. Plus, living in a tropical climate, I am reluctant to nail the seals into our wood trim… That said, I have found that this garage door seal works well to seal the bottom of our shed doors, the bottom of our pool screen doors, and the bottom of my greenhouse door. I haven't installed this yet, but it appears to be everything the product description says. It comes with self adhesive and with screws plus screw covers for after installation. I believe the self adhesive strip will be very helpful when trying to install, as it will hold it in place while I drill/screw. My only concern was the shipping box. It was shipped alone in a box perfectly sized for the roll but the box arrived ripped open. However there was nothing missing, therefore no complaints. I feel I got lucky. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Product is good, well made with this "silicone" rubber like material. Kit contains the caps and screws needed to install, much better to install between 2 people. Sharing my experience.- I must have chosen the worst season to install, I got in panic with the Arctic winter storm that hit here in the U.S. and began the installation when the weather was 34 degrees F outside. But still wanted to get ready for the hard freeze and having my garage pipes without risk. The cold weather made challenging to get the adhesive to work so I had to rely only in the screws that I put 1 feet apart. Once the strip was fastened it created a really tight seal with the garage door and you can hear the garage door opener feeling a little stress created by the friction of the door with the seal. The draft stopped right away and I was able to keep the garage around 50 degrees when outside was 18, so I can attest that the door seal works fine, must be better to install when the weather is in the upper 60s for the adhesive to properly stick and the seal be more flexible.
