    • Not quite a drain weasel, but good enough. Snaking claw tool is a nice bonus.
This is a nice set of drain clog removal tools. Overall, they do well enough to clear simple clogs of hair and other debris. The plastic, orange removal tools work fairly well, but they don't have as many hooks on the bottom and sides as other similar products have. As a result, it might take you a little longer to hook as much hair / debris at a time like other products might be able to do, but probably not by much. The winding hook tools with the clamp at the end are also super handy, especially if you have something large logged in the drain, or maybe lost some jewelry down the drain that you're trying to recover. The little hook works with a simple trigger mechanism at one end of the snake, and opens a clamp jaw that has quite a bit of grip on it to hold on and tug where needed.     • Simple and affordable...and it works
There may not be much to say about a drain hair remover kit...except "hey, it worked!" I have certainly seen more expensive kits, but in this, things are kept simple. I happened to need it right after I received it, and I was so grateful to have it on hand! Like I wrote...it worked!

I ordered this tool to de-clog two shower drains which had started to drain more slowly than usual. I didn't realize when ordering that the package comes with two totally different products-- there are orange plastic tools which are shorter and spiky, and then there are much longer "grabber" tools that more closely resemble toilet snakes. Based on the picture, I had initially thought this was one type of tool but with pieces that might connect somehow; I have used the Drain Weasel tool and that requires snapping two or three pieces together before use. I didn't see any instructions, so I wasn't quite sure whether these should be used together or if not, which tool I should use in the shower drains (or both one after the other?) I ended up only using the orange plastic tools and they worked as expected (just as good as the Drain Weasel we had previously). I would order these again, but would prefer an option to only order the orange tools (without the grabbers) at a slightly lower price point. The grabber tools are much longer and have a spring-loaded mechanism that releases a claw at the very bottom. They feel really sturdy, I'm not sure I have a need for them! I'm guessing you would use these for really deep clogs. Of note, a lot of force is required to depress the handles in order to make the claw come out, and was a little hard for me (but I'm only 5'0 with small hands!) I would have given this five stars if there had been a better explanation of what came in the package and where/how to use each of these tools. Also not sure I really needed both tools, but glad the orange ones did the job! ... show more

My cohabitant has long hair, and the shower drain is bolted down. The hair drain clog remover tool is perfect for just that. I have gone through several tools trying to remove the inevitable nests of hair that collect just beyond reach.

The media could not be loaded. I must admit. I did not order this for the 8 pcs. drain clog remover tools. Instead, I was attracted to the flexible grabber claws. I had a similar one that is shorter and use it every year when I tune up our Jetskis at the lake house. It works great when I need to pull a loosened spark plug out of a rather deep hole in the side of the engine. I thought, wow, now I can get two longer "grabbers" that will give me the ability to pick up some things without moving a bunch of stuff around. I have already used one of those for just that. The grabbers work well and are three feet long and quite flexible. Then I thought about my side of the master bathroom and the sink that I use. The drain had clearly gotten somewhat stopped up due to me losing some hair in the sink, since that is where I comb my hair after showering. The problem with that sink is it has an attached stopper that is connected beneath the sink to a handle that allows one to stop up and/or open the sink. You can't just pull that thing out without tearing up some stuff. So I decided to try one of the "drain clog remover tools". And the rascal worked. Because of its design, I was able to slide it down through each of the four metal sections beneath the stopper and insert it fully. And in spite of the embarrassment of letting you see some of the goop that came out, I attached a video of me pulling it out of one of the four sections. After a few insertions, the drain was working like new again. So, I was pleased that I got the "grabber claws" because I really like them. I was surprised that the item that did not interest me at first solved a problem in two ways. One, it cleared the clog. Two, it kept me from having to grunt, groan and contort myself in order to crawl beneath that sink and disconnect the drain thingy so I could get access to the drain.
