  • Handy Handy Tool !!!
Got this to test again my two point manual level device. Pros: - Light weight - Mountable Clip/Stand - Dual Leveling Modes - Horizontal Level Line - Vertical Level Line - Horizontal & Vertical Level Lines Combined - Self Leveling Mode Cons: - Clamp/Stand not sufficient for 1/2 of my testing scenarios What you get in the package: - 1 Laser Level - 1 Clamp/Stand - 1 Storage Bag - 1 Instruction Manual The 26 page manual has instruction in 3 languages (EG, SP, FR). Each section is roughly 11 pages with a few pages of diagrams shared at the front of the manual. The manual does a decent job of walking you through the operation of the level. The warranty information is provided in the manual and includes a 2 year from the date of purchase due to a defect in material or workmanship or as a result of normal wear and tear from ordinary household use. You also receive an additional 90 days of coverage when you register the product with Einhell. In testing, this level works amazingly well. I have others and this one by far is the easiest to setup and use in most instances. The level has two modes. - Self Leveling Mode - Standard Manual Alignment Mode The Level does not come with batteries. So you will need to supply 2 AA 1.5v batteries for it to operate properly. The level only has two controls. The Power button on the top of the level and the modes switch. The Mode switch is located at the front of the level under the laser opening. When it is set to the left looking at the front of the level, it is in Self (Automatic) Leveling Mode. When switch is to the right, it is in Standard Manual Alignment Mode. These should be self explanatory. The way the Self Leveling Mode works is the level has a pendulum in it and it will self level as long as the unit is not situated more than 4 degrees from level. When in Self Leveling Mode, the LED on the top of the level will show 'Green' when it is level and within the 4 degree threshold. However, once the level has exceeded the 4 degree threshold, the LED with turn 'Red' to let you know that it is not level and you need to reset it back within the threshold in order for it to properly level itself again. You can toggle through Horizontal, Vertical and both by pushing the power button. NOTE: You cannot turn the unit off when in Self Leveling Mode is to switch the unit over to Standard Mode. If you are in Standard Mode you and either toggle through Horizontal, Vertical, Both and then the next press of the Power Button will turn off the unit. Or you can switch the Mode switch to Self Leveling and then back to Standard. The Clamp/Stand works in various angles. However, without a tripod it is almost impossible to get some angles for instance in a narrow hallway or space where you are unable to clip the clamp to a door or sill. Or get high enough for your 4 degree threshold for Self Leveling. So if you intend to use this a lot, I would definitely suggest a decent 1/4" thread tripod stand. That's really all there is to it. The level worked like a charm in normal circumstances. But other scenarios would have required a tripod (which I don't have) so it did fail that testing. While the Clamp/Stand was versatile, it could not accommodate for some if the testing. That being said, I still gave it 5 stars because the failure was mine not the product. If I had the proper tripod, I believe it would have performed just as well. All in all, this is an amazing tool, that I wish I would have had so many times over the years. Great addition to my toolbox. This product is made in China. ... show more

  • Works great for smaller jobs like hanging shelves and pictures
I actually have a cross laser leveler that I bought a few years back for a couple bigger projects that I was doing. It was quite expensive, nearly $200, And while it worked really well It was a whole process to set up and came with a whole array of extras to use. So while it came in handy for when I built a shed it’s way to much hassle for smaller jobs like hanging pictures or shelves. I also own quite a few Einhell products now as there power x change line has become my go to for when I need to purchase tools since I can get the tool without the batteries (which I already have multiples of) at a much cheaper price but great quality. So when I saw that Einhell had a cross laser at this price point and didn’t have a million other extras with it I figured it would be perfect for me since I’m more likely to pull something like this out for simple jobs. Basically this thing works perfectly for my needs. I had some shelves I needed to hang and I was able to use this and make sure they were perfectly level with ease. I like that it’s battery operated since I know if I had to charge it I would forget to do that and would end up not using it as much since I would only think about it when I needed it. No this doesn’t have all the extras and doesn’t do nearly as much as the more expensive one I have. But for quick things like pictures and shelves and stuff it’s great. I don’t think you will find this to be enough if your say a contractor or someone that would use it daily. But for me and my needs it’s perfect. ... show more

  • Standard Laser Level
This laser level is easy to use. As far as levels are concerned, self-leveling laser levels are the gold standard, however, you will find that in most scenarios it is very helpful to have a tripod instead of a clamp. A vertical line is quite easy to create - with the device clamped to any location (even onto a tool) , it will sense it's level position and a laser beam will be displayed running vertically onto any surface you point it to. This works even if the device is clamped at a very high or low location, such as onto a known plate or joist on the floor. Sending accurate horizontal laser beams out is a very different task - you must be at the height that you wish to send the horizontal beam out on and then turn on this device, which can also display the laser in both vertical and horizontal at once - a great feature. Overall, this is a very nice level and I recommend this for light-medium duty work. Those who use a level on construction sites, should probably seek a more industrial-grade model. This makes an excellent gift for a DIY-er or a handyman. ... show more

  • Making sure the job is level
The Einhell TC-LL is a lightweight and impressive laser cross-level. The included clamp is sturdy and powerful enough to use across a variety of applications to make installation a breeze. I was able to use this to install some shelving units as well as a wall mount. Both projects resulted in a perfectly level application that I found to be a breeze. The laser lines are bright, sharp, and really easy to see. You can switch between auto-leveling and fixed as well as horizontal + vertical, horizontal, or vertical lines. These different modes ensure that for whatever the job, you can use the Einhell to make things easier. To get the most out of this device, I recommend a tripod. The laser level has a tripod thread on the bottom and this allows you to forgo the clip and really get a fine grain install. Overall, the laser level is accurate and a must-have tool. The Einhell TC-LL checks off all the boxes I would look for in a cross-level as a hobbyist. I wish it was rechargeable and included a small tripod with the clamp. I recommend picking up a tripod to get the most out of the level. ... show more
