  • Pleasantly Surprised with these
Color: Pink
First off I want to say that I am not much of an audiophile, but I do enjoy listening to things with a good speaker. Needing speakers for my computer setup, I figured I’d splurge a little bit. Pros: -plug and play, can’t get much simpler than that -has a surprising amount of base, which was something that was important to me. All around has a good range in sound. The base isn’t knock your socks off boomy, but there is an option to plug in a subwoofer. Because I cannot fit a sub, the base on these alone are more than acceptable for me -can get pretty loud, you can hear it from the other room -the color options and the rgb options are nice, I especially like that the rgb lights can be turned off and the speakers remember that when they are powered on and off -smaller than I expected Cons: -because they are plug and play, their is no software that goes along with it that you can fine toon audio levels with. Not a big deal since the sound is pretty good off the bat, but would be nice to have -there are multiple sound presets to cycle through, but I can barely tell the difference with them. I wish they were a little clearer in their audio profiles, or the website describes the differences -there is a startup and shutdown sound, that to my knowledge cannot be turned off. It is very loud and annoying -the buttons that control the volume are annoying to deal with, I wish it was a dial instead. Also, there is no button or dial to control the base levels -for what you get, it is a little pricey. I suppose you are paying a little more for the smaller, compact size. To compare, the Razor Nommo speakers has an amazing sound profile, if not a little better than these, and are a little cheaper as well. But the downside to those is that they are very bulky for desktop speakers. But, that doesn’t discount how good these little speakers are; I got them on a lightning sale. If they are discounted or if you want to splurge a little, I overall recommend these. ... show more

  • For the size and price, can’t beat these desktop speakers
Color: Black
Did tons of research trying to replace my outdated desktop speakers. Didn’t want the huge bookshelf speakers that look so dumb on a desk (unless I guess if you’re an “audiophile”), but wanted something that still sounds at least decent. Since Edifier makes the most popular bookshelf speakers, I happened to stumble across a recommendation for these while researching on Reddit. These were the fourth or fifth pair of speakers I purchased and I’m so glad I found that Reddit post. The price, size, and audio quality of these make them a phenomenal buy. They sound quite good for desktop speakers, way better than the other speakers I tried. They are surprisingly small but get very loud, louder than I would ever listen to them at. Because if their size they do take up less space which is very nice. My only two complaints are small: 1) the RGB lights were clearly an afterthought and don’t look good, 2) not having a volume knob but a volume rocker instead is a little less convenient. It makes it harder to know exactly what your volume level is. I’ll mention, many people have complained about the start up and shut down sound, and while it is cheesy, it’s not nearly as big a deal as others have made it out to be. At least not to me. So, all that said, great speakers would buy again and highly recommend if you want good sounding speakers that are relatively small and are reasonably priced. ... show more

These babies right here are phenomenal and I mean PHENOMENAL. Regardless if they are on sale or not GET THEM. They are worth way more than what they are listed for trust me. I want to thank everyone who left good reviews that persuaded me to get them. I bought some for my husband within the first 10 minutes of using them. He literally asked me for a pair even though he had some nicer speakers and a setup already. I can't thank the reviewers enough. Best pc purchase ever they sound better than any speakers I have ever heard even the $1000 display speakers in stores or any sound bars. They have movie mode, gaming, and music mode. You can also change the lighting on the! I got the white pair and use the pink setting on it and its soooo cute. My husband got the black pair and uses the red led setting to match his gaming set up and it looks amazing. TRUST ME IF YOU'RE READING THIS GET THEM. I don't write reviews this is my first and only review and I online shop weekly. I want to spread the kindness I received from the community and spread the word to more people how amazing these are. Played every bass song I've ever come across in my life in the first hour lol ... show more

  • Great speakers. Big sound, small form factor
Color: Black
I picked these up for my wife after a lot of research. I then picked up a second set for my parents after seeing how well they worked for my wife. My wife would not let me buy anything crazy expensive or fancy for her computer, but wanted something better than the Logitech speakers she had been using which were so "boomy" (read: they try to make up for lack of real base by cranking up the crappy higher pitch base that they are able to produce to the expense of all else) that she wasn't enjoying her music and had a hard time understanding people during conference calls. The guidelines she insisted on for her new speakers were the following: Not too expensive (these are borderline for her), no separate subwoofer, compact, and able to comfortably fill the room (small 10x12 home office) with balanced sound from various types of music, conference calls, and videos. These are perfect. The price was a little on the high side for her, but they work so well that the price was more than forgiven. The sound coming out of these is nice and balanced. For a small room, they do provide enough base (you can add a subwoofer if you really want) and the sound is clear with a nice soundstage. The connectivity options are great as well: You can connect to them via 3.5" TRS plug (your normal smallish headphone style plug), USB, or Bluetooth. They have a built in Subwoofer out port if you decide you want to add a sub, but they sound great without it. If you have a larger room and want to crank up the tunes, you might want to consider it, but my wife is happy without it. They are also pretty small and fit nicely on a crowded smallish desk. You can set the lighting to a color you like, and then forget about it. It's fairly low key. It was not a selling point for us, but it is pretty neat. 6 months later, when my parents complained that their Logitech speakers were making it so that they couldn't listen to conference calls or other dialog due to the boominess of their speakers, I picked these up for them as well. Great speakers. Perhaps the best you can find for your desktop/laptop at this price. Highly recommended. Also, if you haven't figured it out yet, I strongly recommend you never purchase any Logitech speaker that comes with a subwoofer, as it's going to sound like crap. If you insist on going with Logitech, better to get a cheap two speaker setup than to get one with a small sub, as they crank up the high frequency base (it can't really generate any real base) output of that crappy sub so high that you'll want to throw it out the window. ... show more

  • Big sound in a small package!!
Color: White
I'm going to preface this by saying, keep in mind this is a TWO-SPEAKER setup with NO subwoofer...I just want to be perfectly clear on that before diving into this review. This was a bit of a vanity purchase, as I wanted some white speakers to go with my new all-white PC setup and didn't want to drop studio monitor money or anything just to look spiffy on the desk. This one seemed like a good middle ground, as most of the cheaper options were USB powered and that was not going to cut it in this area. These have some neat features like bluetooth built in and RGB lights which can have the color changed, do a few different lighting modes, or even be shut off entirely if that's not your thing. There is also a port on the back for a sub-out, meaning you can slave a powered subwoofer to these and get a 2.1 setup if you so desire. I have not tried this yet. I don't want to give a glowing, "Stepford Wives" review on these, because sound quality can be subjective and even changes with the context of what you have been listening to prior. Since I don't have pro sound-testing equipment this is going to be a bit on the unscientific side, but I've heard some great speaker and headphone setups in the past so I think I've at least got some "cultured" ears. Considering the size, these offer a very sizeable amount of volume. Being wall-powered, that didn't come as a surprise. 32w going into drivers these size is going to render a good amount of volume. So if you want something you can hear over the noise of a shower, the sink as you're shaving, or even a vacuum cleaner or whatever, these will cut through just fine. I use these in my bedroom so I like having music or youtube videos going as I get ready in the morning. On that front, these are great! The amount of bass is VERY surprising, but the drivers are pretty heavy for speakers this size and they feel quite solid. It's not a huge surprise that so much is included, but one of the jerry-rigged tests I do for bass is seeing how loud they are *in the other room*, as high-end frequencies get choked out by walls/doors pretty easily and bass usually cuts right through. These cut through the walls pretty well, which tells me the bass on these is pretty strong in the mix. Take it with a grain of salt, but for their size the bass is well there. If that's still not enough, they do have a sub-out so you can hook up a powered sub if you so desire. On the actual sound QUALITY, I'm not going to stretch the truth here...my Logitech and Creative 2.1 sets do outperform these. The ones in the $60-100 range (sometimes less if they were refurbs). But lets put this in context...we're comparing a 2.0 speaker set with a 2.1 set that is tuned to split frequencies between a subwoofer and others. Anyone in music/audio knows that's a pretty sizeable gap to close. Just taking the stress of bass or very low mid reproduction off the smaller speakers is an immense advantage when it comes to clarity. I do have to hand it to these though, considering the task they do a pretty good job. As far as accuracy goes, I couldn't speak to that, but these do come off as muddier than the old Creative 2.1 set and my HyperX Cloud headphones...again, keep in mind we're talking a 2.0 set and many others don't even come close to these. On a side note, the option to use an external subwoofer has not been used by me yet. I am unsure if this does anything for clarity (like if a high-pass filter is kicked in for the speakers, reducing the amount of bass/low mids they have to produce), but will update the review when I get a chance to try. I would be highly impressed if that were the case, I look forward to confirming someday. I gave these 4 stars on sound and bass, and 3 on the volume control since they are just buttons instead of a volume knob like most and that is a little annoying. Sure you can control volume on your computer, but it would be nice for use on things like bluetooth or what have you. I also like the RGB lights, personally, but your mileage may vary. I think I'd have a much easier time suggesting these if they were a LITTLE cheaper ($75 would seem super reasonable), but at about $95 this is a little steep, even for a 2.0 set like this. Studio monitors are built for flat audio response in nearly all cases, which takes more R&A than just making something that sounds good. Not saying it's zero work, just not as much tuning as the flat-response ones have to take on. Still a good pair of speakers that look great as well, worth checking out! ... show more

I've struggled to find some good speakers. I only got this because it was on sale for prime and seemed OK. Once I got I was extremely happy. They are minimalistic but get super load. Sound quality is great for gaming or movies or meetings or w/e. The buttons controls are perfect, no weird automated stuff. The ble works perfectly and has a simple connection process. Its almost to simple honestly, I thought it was too easy at first lol. I use all 3 inputs with no problem. Quality wise they seem above average so I really hope they last. I haven't tried a sub yet but if I can find a simple once I plan on giving it a go. If your on the fence go for it, I have no regrets. I plan on keeping an eye on this brand. ... show more

  • Small punchy speakers with AUX output port for a power subwoofer.
Color: Black
I was looking for desktop speakers with the following criteria 1) AUX output port to connect to a powered subwoofer 2) Compact 3) Bluetooth and AUX In inputs 4) Reasonably priced. 5) Does not come with an integrated subwoofer in the package as I like to keep the subwoofer decoupled especially the volume control. Most speakers do not come with the AUX output at this price point. And if there was an output port it is to a headphones and when plugged in it would disable the speakers. (The Bestisan sound bars do have an AUX output but the volume is so low for some reason to make it unusable and I do not recommend it.) These G2000 speakers are the perfect package. The highs and mids are crisp. The bass is ok but not great given these are compact speakers and I expected this. But pair it with a powered subwoofer (I have the Bestisan SW80 which I recommend) this thing rocks and is plenty loud in my computer setup. The system works with both AUX in and Bluetooth. I did not try the USB. The sound reproduction is fine with both. There are 3 equalization mode. I can't really tell you what the difference is but I do have a slight preference for the movie mode, so there is some difference. The LED is a nice touch but just a gimmick to make this look cool. I like the volume up down toggle switch vs a dial - I guess this is just a preference. Only reason it got 4 star as there are some improvements that can be made. 1) Turning the speakers on and off give an annoying woosh sound. I guess this is to appeal to younger gamers. There should be a way to turn this off. 2) With the same volume setting on the speaker the bluetooth input is louder than the AUX in input. I find that I need to turn up my PC volume in AUX in mode and turn down my iPhone in bluetooth than I normally do. Once adjusted both sound fine with plenty of punch. 3) I would prefer a separate power button instead of a long press to turn things on and off. 4) The 2 speakers are attached with a permanent cable. It would be nice to if it were detachable on one or both end. 5) Instead of the fancy LED, I would have preferred if it included a small remote to turn on/off adjust the volume and switch input modes so I don't have to reach for the speakers. Overall I'm pretty pleased with this speaker. I'll see long term whether these are reliable. ... show more

I Use these speakes for my desktop. I Needed compact size because of limited space. They do have very good sound with good bass and if you want you can add a subwoofer for that extra boom. Different color lights and affects and you can turn the lights off on these if you like. The Edifier G2000 are really good personal speakers my opinion. I am very picky about speakers and I know its hard because people like some others do not. All about the Ears. Ha ha UpDate: I added Jamo Studio Series S 808 Subwoofer works Awesome. • For what they are, pleased with the purchase.
Color: Black
For desktop computer speakers I'm pleased. The sound is crisp, and voices (during podcasts) are clear and accurate. The bass is muddy, but it would require a much larger case to cure that problem. The volume control is a nice feature as it's not a dial control (dials always get scratchy with wear - analog device). The EQ settings leave something to be desired, but that can be better controlled through your computer. The RGB rear light is a nice feature - I've gone dark, because RGB is not my thing. All-in-all good performance in a small package. Very pleased. ... show more

  • High Quality Near-Field Speakers With an Array of Useful Features
Color: Black
After almost 20 years, my Cambridge Soundworks DTT 2200 5.1 system finally bit the dust, so I was on the prowl for some new desktop speakers to hook up to my PC. I got turned on to Edifier products after setting some bookshelf speakers up for a friend of mine (Their R1700BT), but I didn't want anything quite that big on my desktop. Once I discovered that they had this "gaming" line, I was happy to take a closer look to see how they might fare. My first impression was how substantial they felt in my hands once I got them out of the box; which is what you should expect with a full range unit. Having seen a countless number of "gaming" branded peripherals come in and out of my house over the years, you almost become accustomed to equating the terminology with "cheap and flashy". Not so with these. Setup was very quick and easy. I immediately launched Spotify to get a feel for how the sound might fill up the room. One thing to note here is that if you're not taking advantage of the Subwoofer out, you should position these close to a wall, or in a spot where there will be something behind them for the bass to reflect off of. The difference in range is almost night and day, regardless of the sound profile you might be on. While these are clearly marketed for a "small room" setup, I'll say that at a decent level, they still fill out medium to larger spaces quite nicely. That said, you'll definitely get the most quality out of these as you're positioned directly in front of them, as intended. The overall aesthetics of the speakers should fit nicely alongside any number of desktop configurations. The lighting is a little softer than I'd expected, and I was glad for that. Anything much brighter and I feel like the visual distraction may be off-putting. Either way, the lights can be disabled completely if it's just not something you care to have going on all the time. The feature that probably took me most by surprise was the audio profile selector. The EQ offers a balanced trio of presets: Music, Movie, and Game modes. Game mode features the most bass, but I feel like most games these days already over-saturate their bass profiles, so I tend to stick with one of the other two depending on what I'm playing. Movie mode probably has the widest overall range for movies, YouTube, and general listening, while Music emphasizes more in the higher range, (probably to accentuate vocals). I like having the quick and easy access to the presets, though. I never really considered how substantially different the sound profiles are for all the different types of media I consume on my desktop, but now that I have some control over how those different stages might be presented, I think I'd find it frustrating to have to resort to digging into OS or application menus to achieve the same functionality with other hardware. Bluetooth connectivity was a snap, and the units stayed paired to my phone long after I'd been listening. Even after I had walked through multiple rooms in my apartment and forgotten they were connected. The result here was slight frustration and then hilarity for me, as my wife simultaneously underwent shock and then confusion as I attempted to watch a trailer for the new Mortal Kombat movie while in the restroom. But of course, we're not going to fault Edifier for this. Credit them, maybe. All said, I'm very pleased with the product. It's unfortunate that we have to deal with fewer and fewer things lasting as long as those Cambridge Soundworks speakers did for me; but I'm comforted by the physical and audible quality of these, and optimistic that they'll be going strong for some time to come. ... show more
